Islam allows restricted polygyny with four wives simultaneously hitherto the common unrestricted practices among the Arabs before the appointment of the Messenger of Allah in their midst. Having an unlimited number of wives was not peculiar to the Arab culture alone, many nations in Africa are known to uphold the same practice. However, on the contact with Islam, every Muslim is required not to have more than four wives, simultaneously. The non-Muslim husband of more than four wives would be legally required to reduce the number of his wives to four upon his conversion to Islam. However, in Africa and in Nigeria in particular, some Muslims exceed the stipulated number and seek justification from the verse 20th of Suratu’n- Nisā and tag the practice as wahare and ‘Istibdāl. Other advocates of the practice twist the interpretation of the particular verse (Q4:3) regarding the permissibility of polygyny in support of the said practice. In view of this background, this paper aims to find out if there are correlations between the practice of wahare and ‘Istibdāl and the verse in question. Interviews, observations and review of literature were implored in this study. It was identified that the two different approaches to the practice of wahare /’Istibdāl are not supported by the verse 20th of Suratu’n- Nisā.

Sentences of the type Max elbowed his way through the crowd have not been studied in detail hitherto. The systematic investigation undertaken here shows that the verbs appearing in them have a large lexical extension. These sentences are also productive, so that an unlimited number of new verbs of the paradigm are constantly being created; the verbs constitute an open class. Three new results have been obtained. The first shows how certain apparently inexplicable uses of it (as in beat it!) can be related to a pro-nominalization observed in the paradigm. The second shows how nouns like cannonball, steamroller, skyrocket, etc., can become verbs. The third result is a verification, by a systematic investigation of the English lexicon, of the common semantic intuition that these sentences can be paraphrased by others like Max made his way through the crowd by using his elbows.

Abstract BACKGROUND Few previous studies have described the origin of both anterior and posterior inferior cerebellar arteries from one vessel as a common trunk anomaly. No previous studies have clearly described the aforementioned anomaly depending on intraoperative endoscopic visualization. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the association of a common trunk anomaly with hemifacial spasm, which makes microvascular decompression more challenging. METHODS All patients with common trunk anomaly associated with hemifacial spasm who received surgical treatment between 2006 and 2015 in our institution were identified in our prospectively collected database. Detection of the common trunk anomaly was performed using the intraoperative high-definition endoscopic inspection and confirmed by a retrospective review of the obtained operative videos. RESULTS Out of 248 cases of hemifacial spasm, 21 cases with a common trunk anomaly were detected, with an incidence rate of 8.5%. In 6 cases, the spasm was caused by more than 1 offending vessel “complex compression.” In 19 cases, total recovery occurred on follow-up, while in 1 case, 90% recovery occurred. One patient was spasm-free immediately after surgery, but died 3 wk after operation from herpes encephalitis. CONCLUSION Common trunk anomaly in hemifacial spasm is rare. The surgical technique is mostly identical to decompression with normally arising vessels. However, in case of a bifurcation situated close to the compression site where the offending vessel cannot be transposed freely, an extensive cushioning along the trunk and the offending vessels with teflon pledgets should be performed. The presence of a common trunk anomaly does not affect the surgical results.

Computer crimes have been in existence for a long time now and hacking is just another way or tool that hackers are now using to perpetrate crime in different form. Hackers Beget Ethical Hackers. A number of people have suffered the consequences of hacker actions. We need to know who these hackers are. We need to know why these hackers exist because hackers have been there and will be there and we can be victims of their existence. In essence hackers seem to beget hackers and the tools that they use are getting more and more advanced by the day. We shall take a quick analysis of selected tools from thousands of tools used by ethical and unethical hackers. We shall systematically review three major types of hackers that we can identify. It is not easy to draw a line between them. Three main hackers and minor hackers have been discussed in this paper. The three main hackers are black hat, grey hat and white hat hackers. We have adopted a systematic review of literature to discuss and analyse some of the common tools the black hat hackers have developed to hack into selected systems and commercial software and why they do it?

This study presents the role of co-operative Societies in general and a specific study on Karnataka. The Large Sized Agricultural Multi-purpose Co-operative Societies (LAMPS) are organised at the village level to meet the credit and other requirements of the tribal people. Tribal beneficiaries are the members LAMP Societies and they have benefited almost all the integrated services offered by the LAMPS for their economic upliftment. This study highlights the history, trends and growth of cooperatives. It also highlights the national policies, problems and suggests measures for the existence and viability of co-operative institutions, designed specifically for the welfare of the common man in general and for upliftment of tribes and weaker sections of the society in particular. The important aspect of examining the cause and effects of tribal economy has not been covered in any of the abovementioned studies. It is found from the review of literature that only a few researchers has studied the role of tribal co-operatives and their cause and effects on economic development of tribes.

This study is an empirical and field based, interview techniques are used for the collection of required data on the problem from the sample tribal respondents. The present study is also an attempt to go into the problems and prospects of co-operatives for the upliftment of tribals of Karnataka.

This chapter considers what hagiography meant as a genre of literature in the postconquest period. It investigates the rhetorical goals of these texts, arguing that many were written by monks and priests to discourage conversion to Islam and to condemn Christians who were drawn too closely to Arab culture. It then suggests that the martyrologies enshrined the views of one side of an intra-Christian debate about the threats of Islamization and Arabization. The chapter is organized into three sections. The first examines the social and religious backdrop of martyrology-writing, namely, the perceived threat of Islamization and Arabization. The second section discusses the authors of the texts and their motives. The third section explores how these attitudes mapped onto Christian sectarianism in the early medieval Middle East.

Osteoid osteoma (OO) is one of the common benign bone tumors but an uncommon cause of musculoskeletal pain. Its diagnosis is usually not difficult in classic clinical setup and in typical location in diaphyseal region. However, the diagnosis of juxta or intraarticular osteoid osteoma (IAOO) is challenging because of atypical clinical presentation responsible for delay in diagnosis and treatment. We report a rare case of IAOO as a cause of chronic shoulder pain to make clinician aware to help in its early diagnosis and management. A 28-year-old woman presented with chronic debilitating right shoulder pain. The diagnosis was established on CTscan after 2 years of onset of symptoms because of atypical clinical presentation as a chronic monoarthritis of the shoulder. CTscan demonstrated radiolucent nidus with central calcification with areas of surrounding sclerosis. The tumor was excised surgically and histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteoid osteoma. So, in the scenario of an unexplained chronic monoarthritis, the possibility of intraarticular osteoid osteoma should also be kept in mind. CT-scan remains the investigation of choice for demonstrating the nidus and surgical exicision relieves the symptoms. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/njr.v3i2.9615 Nepalese Journal of Radiology Vol.3(2)July-Dec, 2013: 77-80

Fire is the leading cause of death in the home for children under the age of five. Many of these fires are caused by the children themselves, and the common disposable butane lighter has emerged as a frequent source of ignition. The children involved are typically quite young, with three-fourths under age five. The work reported in this paper addressed human factors concerns in children operating cigarette lighters to start fires. It included a review of literature on child fire setting; an analysis of in-depth accident investigations; a survey of the child developmental literature to identify physical, cognitive, and behavioral factors related to lighter operation; the development of strategies for enhancing the child-resistance of lighters; and the development and pilot testing of a detailed formal evaluation protocol for assessing the child-resistance of lighters. The overall findings of the project indicate the significance of the fire safety problem involving cigarette lighters, and the susceptibility of the problem to human factors solutions. The general strategies identified for improving the product provide a starting point for creative, and cost effective, design approaches. The evaluation protocols developed provide an objective means for assessing child-resistance, and should prove useful for research, evaluation, and regulation.
