In this work, we consider a one-dimensional porous thermoelastic system, where the heat flux used is introduced by Green and Naghdi theories. We establish a general decay result depending on the memory kernel and a new introduced stability number.

We consider the one-dimensional viscoelastic Porous-Thermo-Elastic system. We establish a general decay results. The usual exponential and polynomial decay rates are only special cases.

In this paper, we consider a swelling porous elastic system with a viscoelastic damping and distributed delay terms in the second equation. The coupling gives new contributions to the theory associated with asymptotic behaviors of swelling porous elastic soils. The general decay result is established by the multiplier method.

As a continuity to the study by T. A. Apalarain[3], we consider a one-dimensional porous-elastic system with the presence of both memory and distributed delay terms in the second equation. Using the well known energy method combined with Lyapunov functionals approach, we prove a general decay result given in Theorem 2.1.

AbstractA kinetic equation is derived for the singlet distribution function for a heavy impurity in a lattice of lighter atoms in a temperature gradient. In the one dimensional case the equation can be solved to find formal expressions for the jump probability and hence the heat of transport, q*. for a single vacancy jump of the impurity, q* is the sum of the enthalpy of activation, a term involving only averaging in an equilibrium ensemble, and two non-equilibrium terms involving time correlation functions. The most important non-equilibrium term concerns the correlation between the force on the impurity and a microscopic heat flux. A plausible extension to three dimensions is suggested and the relation to earlier isothermal and non-isothermal theories is indicated

Abstract This article presents selected results of a study comparing two procedures for the treatment of collimated irradiation impinging on one boundary of a participating one-dimensional plane-parallel medium. These procedures are implemented in a CVFEM used to calculate the radiative heat flux and source. Both isotropically and anisotropically scattering media are considered. The results presented show that both procedures provide results in good agreement with those obtained using a Monte Carlo method, when the collimated beam impinges normally.

In the present work, we study the effect of time varying delay damping on the stability of a one-dimensional porous-viscoelastic system. We also illustrate our findings with some examples. The present work improve and generalize existing results in the literature.
