Hutan rakyat dengan pola tanam agroforestri memiliki pengaruh terhadap aspek ekologi, seperti: udara bersih, erosi terkendali, serapan karbon, pengaturan tata air, penyangga ekosistem, penjaga stabilitas ekologi, dan perlindungan lingkungan.  Oleh karena itu, dalam pengelolaan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri masa kini dan masa depan harus dapat memperhatikan kaidah-kaidah lingkungan.  Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, maka hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri harus sehat.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan nilai status (saat ini) kesehatan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri di wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Timur. Studi kasus analisis kesehatan hutan dilakukan pada klaster-plot Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri di Wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Timur.  Jumlah klaster-plot FHM yang dibuat sebanyak empat klaster-plot.  Parameter indikator kesehatan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri adalah pertumbuhan pohon, kondisi kerusakan pohon, kondisi tajuk, dan kesuburan tanah.  Tahapan dari penelitian ini terdiri dari pembuatan plot ukur hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri, pengukuran parameter indikator kesehatan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri, pengolahan dan analisis, dan penilaian kesehatan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai status kondisi kesehatan hutan rakyat pola tanam agroforestri di wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Timur rata-rata dalam kategori bagus. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hutan rakyat dengan pola tanam agroforestri akan menghasilkan tingkat kesehatan hutan rakyat yang sehat.  Dengan demikian, pembangunan hutan rakyat di wilayah Kabupaten Lampung Timur Provinsi Lampung diarahkan dengan pola tanam agroforestri.   Community forests with agroforestry planting systems have an influence on ecological aspects, such as: clean air, controlled erosion, carbon uptake, water management arrangements, ecosystems buffer, guarding ecological stability, and environmental protection. Therefore, in the management of community forests the present and future agroforestry planting systems must be able to pay attention to environmental principles. To realize this, the community forest agroforestry planting patterns must be healthy. This study aims to obtain the status of (current) health of community forests agroforestry planting systems in the area of ​​East Lampung Regency. A case study of forest health analysis were carried out in Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) plots of community forests agroforestry planting systems in the East Lampung Regency. The number of FHM plots was made in four clusters. Parameters of indicators of community forest health agroforestry planting systems are tree growth, tree damage conditions, canopy conditions, and soil fertility. The stages of this study consisted of making a community forest measuring plot agroforestry planting systems, measuring indicators of community forest health agroforestry planting systems, processing and analysis, and assessing the health of community forests agroforestry planting systems. The results showed that the value of the status of public forest health conditions of agroforestry planting systems in the area of ​​East Lampung Regency on average in good categories. This shows that community forests with agroforestry planting systems will produce healthy community forest health levels. Thus, community forests development in East Lampung Regency of Lampung Province is directed to agroforestry planting systems.

Global climate change and forest health are currently two things that need to be studied more deeply. Forests store carbon, including in the community forests. A healthy forest can perform its function properly including as a carbon sinker as well as a carbon repository. This study aims to analyze carbon storage as an indicator of forest health in community forests in Pinang Jaya Village. The data were collected by using cluster plots based on the method of Forest Health Monitoring (FHM), totaling 15 units. The measurement method used is destructive and non-destructive. The result showed that the average carbon storage in community forests in Pinang Jaya Village is 54.59 tC/ha. The largest contribution to carbon storage was AGB with a percentage of 95.71%, followed by necromass at 4.23%, and 0.05% litter and understorey. Based on the results of the analysis, carbon storage can perform as an indicator of forest health in the community forests of Pinang Jaya Village with the bad, medium, and good categories. The plot clusters are in the Good category (70.61 tC/ha - 83.66 tC/ha), namely cluster plots 13, Moderate categories (57.55 tC/ha - 70.60 tC/ha), namely cluster plots 4 and 14, and the Bad category (44.49 tC/ha - 57.54 tC/ha), namely cluster plots 1-3, 5-12.15, with the percentage of each category of 7%, 13%, and 80%.

Community forestry is a social forestry scheme in state forests. Hkm empowers communities around the forest area to increase the ability and independence of the local community. Forest health monitoring is still rarely applied in the management of HKm. Forest health monitoring results can be a reference in making the right decisions in managing HKm so that the results obtained can be optimal. This study aims to determine the results of forest health monitoring in Beringin Jaya HKm managed by KTH Lestari Jaya 8. The research was conducted using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method. Forest health monitoring results show that there are 6 cluster plots with the final value of forest health status in cluster 1 (2.53) bad category, plot 2 (8.98) good category, plot 3 (6.31) moderate category, plot cluster 4 (10.51) category is good, cluster plot 5 (10.74) category is good and cluster plot 6 (8.98) category is good. Thus the results of forest health monitoring obtained by KTH Lestari Jaya 8 with an average final value of forest health status is moderate

Urban forest is one component of green open space. The assessment of the condition of tree damage in the area of ​​green open space is very important. Damage to trees can eliminate the function of the tree itself, it can even cause economic losses. Therefore, tree damage can be an indicator where trees are said to be healthy or sick. This study aims to determine the status of the condition of tree damage in the Stadion Urban Forest, Metro City, Lampung Province. The study was conducted using the Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method. The results showed that there were eight locations of tree damage with the most found locations of damage, namely at the branch location (code 7) as many as 115 locations (37.34%); 12 types of tree damage with the most types of damage found, namely the type of broken or dead branches (code 22) as many as 110 (35.71%); with an average severity of tree damage ≥20%. Thus the status of the condition of tree damage in the Stadion Urban Forest, Metro City, Lampung Province is in the healthy category of 300 trees (77%), is being 69 trees (18%), and sick 19 trees (5%).

Forest fire is one of the problem in forest management. The objectives of the study was to measure the forest fire severity based on soil physical and chemical properties. The forest fire effects were assessed using fire severity method and forest health monitoring plot. The study indicated that the burned areas at BKPH Parung Panjang after two years included in low fire severity. The site properties and growth performance analysis showed that the fire has only affected on pH, Mg and tree diameter significantly, whereas the other parameters such as bulk density, P, N, Na, K, Ca and height were not significantly affected. In addition, both burned and unburned areas are classified as in health condition.Key words : fire severity, forest health monitoring, growth performance, site properties

Pine (Pinus merkusii) is tree species that provides timber and gum rosin. To meet the needs of wood and non wood (gum rosin) products, planting by using superior or high quality seeds are needed. Seed procurements for planting are obtained from seedling seed orchard (SSO). However, Cijambu’s SSO was attacked by pine woolly aphid (Pineus boerneri). Therefore, assessment of Cijambu’s SSO needs to be done to evaluate the severity pest attacks that could affect to the quality and the quantity of seed production. Forest Health Monitoring (FHM) method is one of the methods to assess the health level of a stand. The number of trees found in all cluster plots in Cijambu’s SSO were 270 trees. Based on the value of the VCR (Visual Crown Rating), the trees located in all cluster plot have health level between low to high. Based on the value of the VCR showed 38.52% (104 trees) having VCR’s value was high, 49.26% (133 trees) having VCR’s value was middle; 12.22% (33 trees) having VCR’s value was low; and no tree having very low VCR’s value. The average of VCR’s value in all cluster plots were 3.25 and classified as middle health. Based on the value of TDLI (Tree Damage Level Index) from 270 trees in all cluster plot showed that 189 trees (70.00%) in healthy condition; 69 trees (25.56%) in slight damage condition; 11 trees (4.07%) in middle damage condition; and 1 tree (0.37%) in heavy damage condition. The value of damage in all cluster plots (ALI) was 261.22 and classified as in health condition. The trees located in all cluster plots were mostly suitable to be seed sources as 242 trees (89.63%), while 28 trees (10.37%) were not suitable for seed sources.Keywords: Forest Health Monitoring, Pinus merkusii, seedling seed orchard, Tree Damage Level Index, Visual Crown Rating
