as long as years. The other mineral associated tin ore mineral very potensial mineral in Bangka Islandis rare earth element REE. They are the future prospect mineral resources, and how in the featuretime this potential must have a high economic value. REE potential not yet explored and exploited welluntil now days in Bangka Island, and was left abundant in ex-mining area. They carried out from thetin ore mining and become mine waste or tailing and then through the stream flows to be suspensionor bed load sediment. The aim of this study is to identify the present rare earth based on surfaceoutcrop samples as vein and rock and to understanding their spatial distribution in The west part ofSambung Giri Hill Merawang District Bangka Regency. Primary data collection of outcrop of rockand vein in Sambung Giri Hill. Geochemical sediments analysis just for identification insemiquantitative the presence of rare earth elements Ce, La, Nd, Sm and Y. Rare earth element ofcerium (Ce), Nd and Sm just ancent in some small sample, but for Lantanum (La) and yittrium (Y)almost presence at all shallow surface veint rock. The spatial distribution of rare earth Ce, La, Nd, Smand Y show heterogeneity in laterally.

Rare earth element REE is very potential future prospect mineral resources in Bangka Island, hence awell developed REE must have a high economic value in the future. As one of the biggest region thatproducing tin ore mining (cassiterite) for hundreds of years, REE potential not yet explored andexploited well until now days in Bangka Island, and was left abundant in ex-mining area. They carriedout from the tin ore mining and become mine waste or tailing and then through the stream flows to besuspension or bed load sediment. The aim of this study is to identify the present rare earth Ce and Ybased on shallow surface sediment samples and their spatial distribution from a number of mineponds called kolong. Primary data collection of shallow surface sediments has been collected onKolong Argotirto and Menjelang West Bangka District, Kolong PLN and Merawang in Bangka District,Kolong Rentensi Kacang Pedang and Pedindang in Pangkalpinang City. Geochemical sedimentsanalysis just for identification the presence of rare earth Ce and Y. Rare earth element of cerium(Ce) just presence in a few sample sediment, but for yittrium (Y) almost presence at all shallowsurface sediment 0,9 - 31,6 ppm. The spatial distribution of rare earth Ce and Y show heterogeneity inlaterally.

AbstractKnowledge of habitat segregation of mosasaurs has been based on lithology and faunal assemblages associated with fossil remains of mosasaurs and stable isotopes (δ13C). These approaches have sometimes provided equivocal or insufficient information and, therefore, the preference of habitat by different mosasaur taxa is still suboptimally constrained. The present study is focused on the analysis of rare earth element (REE) ratios of mosasaur fossils from the Upper Cretaceous formations of western Alabama, USA. Results of the REE analysis are used to infer the relative paleobathymetry associated with the mosasaur specimens and then to determine if certain taxonomic groups showed a preference for a particular water depth. Comparisons are then made with mosasaur specimens reported in the literature from other regions of North America from different depositional environments. Results indicate that Mosasaurus, Platecarpus and Plioplatecarpus may have preferred more restricted habitats based on water depth whereas Tylosaurus and Clidastes favoured a wider range of environments. Results also suggest that Plioplatecarpus lived in a shallower environment than its Platecarpus predecessor. Although the results of this study are encouraging, caution must be exercised before drawing any final conclusions due to the small sample size of most of the taxa analysed.
