Arc furnaces can be classified as electricity receivers, which largely affect the quality of electricity in the power system. Voltage fluctuations are the main disturbance generated by arc furnaces. The effects of voltage fluctuations include the phenomenon of flickering light. Apart from voltage fluctuations, arc devices, to a lesser extent, are the source of current and voltage asymmetry, voltage curve distortion, and voltage dips. The main purpose of theoretical considerations is to assess the voltage fluctuations generated by arc furnaces. The article presents a model of an arc device in which the arc has been replaced by a voltage whose value depends on the arc length. It presents also the results of the analysis of measurements of the parameters characterizing voltage fluctuations and flicker indicators.

The article deals in detail with all indicators of electricity quality related to the operation of wind power stations and interoperation with the power system, such as: static and dynamic voltage variations, voltage fluctuations, harmonics and quality standards of system operators. It includes the presentation of examples of measurement results as well as conclusions formulated as a result of the conducted studies.

Managing a tourism supply chain is predominantly focused on managing a tourism-specific product that can be perceived as all kinds of goods and services utilized by tourists during their trips. The predominant goal of this article is to empirically identify the level of engagement of entities operating in the tourism-oriented branch of industry concerning the satisfaction of end-customers with the offered tourism-related services and products. Within the scope of this study, the statistical relevance of elements of active cooperation within a tourism-specific supply chain was analyzed. Empirical examinations covered the assessment of the cooperation within the framework of the tourism-oriented supply chain and its impact on consumer satisfaction. A research questionnaire was utilized to meet examination-specific goals. Theoretical considerations and the analysis of branches of industry in relation to the available statistical data showed that tourist-oriented supply chain covers various entities, the engagement of which may have a factual impact on the efficiency of managing the entire chain, as well as on the overall client satisfaction, improving tourism sustainability. The obtained results clearly showed that the examined entities considered the analyzed cooperation aspects to be very important with regard to the supply chain management. Said aspects included the total length of cooperation within the framework of a particular supply chain, which, according to the examined entities, directly translated into the quality of cooperation—to either significant or very significant extent, as well as making it much easier to solve certain problems that were strictly connected with the provision of tourism-oriented services. Yet another aspect of cooperation that was touched upon was the transfer of the so-called know-how between the entities engaged in a given supply chain. As proven by the examination, 70% of the surveyed entities claimed that it was of significant or very significant importance. The last analyzed aspect of cooperation were relations between the supply chain-specific partners and their impact on the satisfaction of end customers. According to over half of the sample (61.54%), decent relations between supply chain participants affected the satisfaction of end customers to a notable extent.

  RESUMEN Se exponen algunas consideraciones teóricas, la metodologí­a, los resultados, las conclusiones y sugerencias de un estudio exploratorio de las estrategias de enseñanza y de aprendizaje en la Escuela de Derecho de la Universidad La Salle Pachuca. El carácter exploratorio del estudio culminó en agosto de 2006 y las sugerencias, derivadas del proceso de investigación, pretenden ser elementos de análisis y reflexión para directivos, docentes y alumnos, con el fin de elevar la calidad educativa de dicha escuela. ABSTRACT Some theoretical considerations, the methodology, the results, the conclusions and suggestions of an exploratory study of the strategies of education and learning of the Right School La Salle Pachuca are exposed. The exploratory character of the study culminated in August of 2006 and the suggestions, derived from the investigation process, try to be elements of analysis and reflection by directors, educational and students, in order to elevate the educative quality of the mentioned school.

The choice of a rational electrical mode of existing or newly commissioned electric arc furnaces (EAFs) is a very difficult task for process engineers in view of the influence of external disturbing factors. Based on an electric arc heat-transfer model (EAHTM), a method is proposed, using which the problem of determining the optimal electrical operation mode can be solved with the minimal number of simplifications and assumptions, and with taking into account the specific features of a particular EAF. In solving the problem, the following factors are taken into account: the arc heat transfer conditions in the melting space; the influence of the thermal operation conditions of the electrodes and the arc length on the structure of heat fluxes during the heating by arcs, and the effect the chemical composition of the working medium has on the thermophysical properties of the arc column plasma. The radiation from EAF arcs with taking into account the column temperature profile is calculated using the method of universal arc characteristics based on the solution of a system of nonlinear algebraic equations of the EAHTM column cylindrical model. The arc length calculation is based on the EAHTM structural characteristics method and consists of comparing the arc voltage value calculated using the furnace equivalent circuit equation and the arc voltage calculated using the EAHTM. Knowing the arc length, it is possible to calculate the arc radiation power in the EAF melting space. The choice of an electrical operation mode implies specifying an electrical parameter to be maintained by the controller for a certain period of melting. The value of this parameter (arc current or the EAF phase loop impedance) governs the other electrical parameters of the electric furnace installation, such as arc power, electrical losses, power factors, efficiency, etc. In addition, the correct choice of the electrical operation mode has an influence on other important operational characteristics, such as the specific consumption of electrodes, the duration of the interval between repairs, etc.
