Starting from previous studies in professional caregivers of people with dementia and other diseases in institutionalized centers of different regions, the aim of this study was to compare burnout levels that workers present depending on the center, to create a caregiver profile with high professional accomplishment and to describe the quality of life that residents perceive Murcia and Barcelona. The instruments used were the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), the Professional Caregiver Survey developed ad hoc and the Brief Questionnaire of Quality of Life (CUBRECAVI in Spanish) on residents. The results show, on the one hand, that levels of professional accomplishment may be paradoxically higher in the case of catastrophe and, on the other hand, the 98.2% of users are satisfied with the residence in which is located and 81.8% with the manner in which occupy the time. The conclusions that are extrapolated from the study shed light on the current situation of workers and residents and the influence that an earthquake can have on them.

In a global approach about the need of paying attention to staff working with and for older people with dementia and other diseases in residential care, it is necessary to investigate their emotional well-being to provide strategies to improve their quality of life and therefore their quality of patient care. Professional caregivers of people with dementia and other diseases have specific psycho-sociological problems. They are more prone to stress which can sometimes lead to the “burnout” due to specific functions in the workplace. To define the sample was decided to compare two residential centers of two regions, Murcia and Barcelona. We proceeded to the administration of the following measuring instruments: the scale Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and an ad hoc survey conducted for professional caregivers. Finally, the results offer the possibility of carrying out programs to prevent emotional exhaustion in professional carers, as well as the possibility of designing psychoeducational programs for staff care and even future proactive and reactive interventions.

Abstract The membership of the country in the Euro-Atlantic structures, the professionalization of the Armed Forces and their participation in joint operations put the Bulgarian Army in front of the necessity to comply with the rules for communal-household provision applied in the NATO member states. As the resource constraint of the Military Budget, determined by the economic potential of the country, does not allow the construction of new military infrastructure objects, the current models for modernization, maintenance and utilization of the military infrastructure in the part of the communal-household provision of the Armed Forces are proposed. The implementation of the presented models is in response to solve problems in improving the maintenance and using military infrastructure elements. On the one hand, the applicability of the models requires the development of scientifically-based norms and legislation for the communal-household provision of the servicemen and on the other hand, it responds to the requirements for improving the quality of life of military personnel in the context of continuous structural reforms and transformations

The victims of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) -especially girls- both in Jakarta - and Lombok area are having unique characteristic of vulnerability, therefore in order to optimize supporting the victims, an understanding of these characteristics of vulnerability in both areas are required. The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the implementation of Down to Zero Project conducted by Plan International Indonesia (PII) in North Jakarta, East Jakarta, West Lombok, and Central Lombok. By conducting desk review of documents and results of previous studies during the implementation of this project, this study argues that; first, on the one side, the vulnerability of CSEC victims in Lombok areas tends to have a relation with poverty, furthermore the strict norms and value of custom could be challenging. On the other side, ineffective protection from family or caregiver makes a huge challenge for CSEC victims in the Jakarta area, in addition a heterogenous society and individualist characters create ineffective social protection for them. Secondly, these differences showed that the existing child protection system for girl victims of CSEC is not fully able to support them to reach the quality of life.

The article discusses the modern problems of green building. The duality of the greening problem in large cities is noted: on the one hand, this is one of the factors of conflict, on the other hand, the factor of the quality of life, creativity of the city, and its image level. The selection of factors for the analysis was carried out taking into account the research of Russian and foreign scientists and the possibility of obtaining reliable statistics. The study was conducted according to the landscaping of the districts of St. Petersburg. As a result of the study, clustering of St. Petersburg districts was carried out according to greenery indicators, the level of green construction in each of the considered territories of the city was estimated. A paired analysis of indicators made it possible to identify the most problematic areas of the city, to conduct a comparative assessment of the districts according to the level of greenery and their sufficiency to create a comfortable environment

The rise in the aging driver population presents society with a significant challenge—how to maintain safety and mobility on the roads. On the one hand, older drivers pose a higher risk of an at-fault accident on a mile-for-mile basis; on the other hand, independent mobility is a significant marker of quality of life in aging. In this paper, we review the respective literatures on cognitive neuropsychology and ergonomics to suggest a previously unexplored synergy between these two fields. We argue that this conceptual overlap can form the basis for future solutions to what has been called “the older driver problem.” Such solutions could be found in a range of emerging driver assistance technologies offered by vehicle manufacturers, which have the potential to compensate for the specific cognitive decrements associated with aging that are related to driving.

The issue of sustainable development combined with the quality of life of the inhabitants is one of the key problems of modern cities. Poland and Ukraine are two closest neighbours. Rzeszow and Lviv are both university cities, which are also partner cities. The main aim of the research was to learn the opinions of students of the University of Rzeszow and the Ivan Franko University of Lviv on selected problems related to the quality of life in Rzeszow and Lviv, as well as personal and professional aspirations of students in Poland and the Ukraine. The purpose of the study was both cognitive and practical, i.e. on the one hand it focused on obtaining information on specific topics related to various aspects of the quality of life in the city and the aspirations of young people, and on the other hand it attempted at obtaining information that could be useful for both university and city authorities in the context of exploiting the significant potential of young people living in these cities. Keywords: sustainable development, quality of life, students, Poland, Ukraine
