Associative memories in min and max algebra are of great interest for pattern recognition. One property of these is that they are one-shot, that is, in an attempt they converge to the solution without having to iterate. These memories have proven to be very efficient, but they manifest some weakness with mixed noise. If an appropriate kernel is not used, that is, a subset of the pattern to be recalled that is not affected by noise, memories fail noticeably. A possible problem for building kernels with sufficient conditions, using binary and gray-scale images, is not knowing how the noise is registered in these images. A solution to this problem is presented by analyzing the behavior of the acquisition noise. What is new about this analysis is that, noise can be mapped to a distance obtained by a distance transform. Furthermore, this analysis provides the basis for a new model of min heteroassociative memory that is robust to the acquisition/mixed noise. The proposed model is novel because min associative memories are typically inoperative to mixed noise. The new model of heteroassocitative memory obtains very interesting results with this type of noise.

AbstractIn this paper, we study an implicit sequential fractional order differential equation with non-instantaneous impulses and multi-point boundary conditions. The article comprehensively elaborate four different types of Ulam’s stability in the lights of generalized Diaz Margolis’s fixed point theorem. Moreover, some sufficient conditions are constructed to observe the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the proposed model. The proposed model contains both the integer order and fractional order derivatives. Thus, the exponential function appearers in the solution of the proposed model which will lead researchers to study fractional differential equations with well known methods of integer order differential equations. In the last, few examples are provided to show the applicability of our main results.

In multi-turn dialogue generation, dialogue contexts have been shown to have an important influence on the reasoning of the next round of dialogue. A multi-turn dialogue between two people should be able to give a reasonable response according to the relevant context. However, the widely used hierarchical recurrent encoder-decoder model and the latest model that detecting the relevant contexts with self-attention are facing the same problem. Their given response doesn’t match the identity of the current speaker, which we call it role ambiguity. In this paper, we propose a new model, named RoRePo, to tackle this problem by detecting the role information and relative position information. Firstly, as a part of the decoder input, we add a role embedding to identity different speakers. Secondly, we incorporate self-attention mechanism with relative position representation to dialogue context understanding. Besides, the design of our model architecture considers the influence of latent variables in generating more diverse responses. Experimental results of our evaluations on the DailyDialog and DSTC7_AVSD datasets show that our proposed model advances in multi-turn dialogue generation.

abstract A digital seismic reflection section may be converted to a gray scale image composed of pixels and processed with techniques borrowed from the disciplines of image enhancement and pattern recognition. Types of processing include scaling, thresholding, density equalization, filtering, segmentation, and edge-finding. These are successfully applied to a migrated common mid-point seismic reflection line that traverses the Queen Charlotte fault (located in the northeastern Pacific Ocean). The result is the definition and enhancement of an elongated, near-vertical reflectivity anomaly associated with the Queen Charlotte fault.

Knowing how to deform the Turcite thermoplastic material under the action of conical penetrators is a means of obtaining information on the processing of the counterpart (made from a metal material with higher hardness) with which it comes into contact.The paper aims to theoretically determine the depth of penetration of the thermoplastic material under the action of some conical penetrators and to establish the coefficient of static and kinetic friction under the action of these penetrators. The proposed model will be validated experimentally on a tribological stand made for this purpose.

Chaotic cryptography has been a well-studied domain over the last few years. Many works have been done, and the researchers are still getting benefit from this incredible mathematical concept. This paper proposes a new model for coloured image encryption using simple but efficient chaotic equations. The proposed model consists of a symmetric encryption scheme in which it uses the logistic equation to generate secrete keys then an affine recursive transformation to encrypt pixels' values. The experimentations show good results, and theoretic discussion proves the efficiency of the proposed model.

Grey prediction model has good performance in solving small data problem, and has been widely used in various research fields. However, when the data show oscillation characteristic, the effect of grey prediction model performs poor. To this end, a new method was proposed to solve the problem of modelling small data oscillation sequence with grey prediction model. Based on the idea of information decomposition, the new method employed grey prediction model to capture the trend characteristic of complex system, and ARMA model was applied to describe the random oscillation characteristic of the system. Crops disaster area in China was selected as a case study and the relevant historical eight-year data published by government department were substituted to the proposed model. The modelling results of the new model were compared with those of other traditional mainstream prediction models. The results showed that the new model had evidently superior performance. It indicated that the proposed model will contribute to solve small oscillation problems and have positive significance for improving the applicability of grey prediction model.

In this paper, gray-scale of various types of cloud images collected over the Kunming Area were analyzed based on statistical theory and methods in order to achieve recognition of the pattern of the weather conditions. The results show that there are remarkable differences in normal distribution on the gray-scale histogram and the recurrence plot for different weather conditions. It is shown that the gray-scale method is simple, feasible, timely, reliable, and accurate. That would provide theoretical support and methods for meteorological and other related departments.
