Complex control structures are required for the operation of photovoltaic electrical energy systems. In this paper, a general review of the controllers used for photovoltaic systems is presented. This review is based on the most recent papers presented in the literature. The control architectures considered are complex hybrid systems that combine classical and modern techniques, such as artificial intelligence and statistical models. The main contribution of this paper is the synthesis of a generalized control structure and the identification of the latest trends. The main findings are summarized in the development of increasingly robust controllers for operation with improved efficiency, power quality, stability, safety, and economics.

Background: The improvement of the voltage in power lines and the respect of the low voltage distribution transformer substations constraints (Transformer utilization rate and Voltage drop) are possible by several means: reinforcement of conductor sections, installation of new MV / LV substations (Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV)), etc. Methods: Connection of mini-photovoltaic systems (PV) to the network, or to consumers in underserved areas, is a well-adopted solution to solve the problem of voltage drop and lighten the substation transformer, and at the same time provide clean electrical energy. PV systems can therefore contribute to this solution since they produce energy at the deficit site. Results: This paper presents the improvement of transformer substation constraints, supplying an end of low voltage electrical line, by inserting photovoltaic systems at underserved subscribers. Conclusion: This study is applied to a typical load pattern, specified to the consumers region.

Explorations of the relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI), the arts, and design have existed throughout the historical development of AI. We are currently witnessing exponential growth in the application of Machine Learning (ML) and AI in all domains of art (visual, sonic, performing, spatial, transmedia, audiovisual, and narrative) in parallel with activity in the field that is so rapid that publication can not keep pace. In dialogue with our contemplation about this development in the arts, authors in this issue answer with questions of their own. Through questioning authorship and ethics, autonomy and automation, exploring the contribution of art to AI, algorithmic bias, control structures, machine intelligence in public art, formalization of aesthetics, the production of culture, socio-technical dimensions, relationships to games and aesthetics, and democratization of machine-based creative tools the contributors provide a multifaceted view into crucial dimensions of the present and future of creative AI. In this Artnodes special issue, we pose the question: Does generative and machine creativity in the arts and design represent an evolution of “artistic intelligence,” or is it a metamorphosis of creative practice yielding fundamentally distinct forms and modes of authorship?

Income smoothing is a longstanding practice under the more general category of earnings management. As the name suggests, it consists of smoothing out the fluctuations of the income series. This article examines the association between the ownership and control structure, level of corporate governance and origin of capital (foreign or domestic) of Brazilian companies on their propensity to smooth income. Using a sample of nonfinancial firms with shares traded on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) at the end of 2007, we performed covariance analysis based on data from the preceding ten years, where the dependent variable was the index proposed by Eckel, an empirical proxy for smoothing. The results indicate that the more concentrated the shareholding and control structures of Brazilian firms are, both according to overall capital and voting capital, the more intensely they tend to smooth earnings to favor the interests of the majority shareholder. The results also show that this effect is less pronounced for firms with enhanced corporate governance levels and those with foreign capital.

One of the effects of technological development of all human societies over the past century is more pronounced increase in energy consumption, but more pronounced dependence on fossil fuel consumption, especially as oil, natural gas and coal.The paper presents a comparative analysis of technical and economic point of view of two systems, the first using the classical system (national electricity grid) and the second using the new unconventional technology with photovoltaic systems for administrative building in rural areas.For correct evaluation of the performance of this systems providing electrical energy requires some assumptions about the consumption of electricity, the solar radiation intensity, the energy cost and the climate zones of the location.

In the presented work, the possibility of using photovoltaic silicon panels with a double-sided arrangement of solar cells on the front and back sides is presented. With a lack of space for placing solar panels, these types of modules can significantly increase the generation of electrical energy. Equipping photovoltaic systems with rechargeable batteries contributes to a more rational consumption of electrical energy, while energy storage systems significantly increase the efficiency of solar generating systems. The proposed designs are intended to increase the power characteristics of solar energy converters in the winter months, in the presence of snow or when using reflective surfaces on road surfaces. The results of the experimental studies have shown a significant efficiency of the proposed designs, as well as an increase in the total generation of electrical energy. With the development of the global technical potential and a significant increase in the production of power plants for solar energy, a new opportunity has emerged to use combined solar plants for photovoltaic conversion of the flux of incident solar radiation. At the Department of Renewable Energy Sources and Electrical Systems and Networks at Sevastopol State University, at the site of the Institute of Nuclear Energy and Industry, a photovoltaic installation was developed and studied, consisting of two side silicon solar cells and energy storage systems. The article presents the results of experimental and theoretical studies, presents diagrams, drawings and graphs of various characteristics of the FSM-110D photovoltaic panel and storage batteries. The research results show the increased efficiency of the proposed installation, as well as a good possibility of using the presented photovoltaic systems to provide them with autonomous and individual consumers living in the Crimean region and the city of Sevastopol.
