Firms have been undergoing a fundamental transformation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and the transformation is driven by the adoption and development of innovative technology such as big data or artificial intelligence. While the impacts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology on economic performance have been actively documented, Korean firm-level data indicates that still, the majority of firms have not yet utilized the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology. Hence, this study examines determinants and propensity for adopting and developing the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology. Probit model estimations show that size, internal R&D intensity, the ratio of intangible assets to the sum of intangible and tangible assets, and patent rights are positively associated with adopting and developing the innovative technology, while there are sectoral differences. Notably, a strategic alliance is the most substantial factor for the propensity of adopting and developing the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology. In sum, this study finds that not only internally accumulated intangibles and R&D investment but also active collaboration with other firms can facilitate diffusion of the Fourth Industrial Revolution technology. Therefore, building up the environment to prompt collaboration can be another effective way to accelerate transformation in addition to supporting R&D and intangible investment.

With the onset of the fourth industrial revolution, technology has become a decisive part of human lives, and is used to speed up the processes of individuals and firms. The connected life employing the internet such as the adoption of e-commerce, which is an innovative technology adoption by firms as part of their business strategies is also one of the elements in the fourth industrial revolution, The successful innovative adoption is a critical task for any company and therefore, during the past few decades, the researchers have applied a few technological adoption models for their studies at the firm level.This paper aims to find-out the technological adoption models which were adopted by the researchers during the recent past for their technology adoption studies at a firm-level, especially on e-commerce adoption and implementation. Hence, this study focused on 50 empirical studies related to the technology adoption in different contexts within the past ten years and identified TOE and DOI theories, which are mostly applied or adopted by the researchers.

Abstract This paper provides first econometric evidence on the determinants of the Internet of Things among firms and on potential performance impacts. The analysis is based on representative firm-level data from 874 German firms. A probit model and an instrumental variable regression serve as econometric approach. The results reveal that especially collaboration platforms and B2B e-commerce increase the propensity to use the Internet of Things. The results further indicate that product innovation is highest for firms jointly using the Internet of Things and collaboration platforms while a reduction of the workforce is also highest in this case. In contrast, there is no evidence for a potential impact on sales development.

This study analyzes the association between corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities and maternity protection using Korean firm-level data. The result shows that companies with good CSR evaluation is negatively related to reinstatement rate after parental leave. It was also revealed that industries with low relevance to female workers or consumer issues and firms with good corporate governance indicators is negatively related to maternity protection. Firms are attracted to external social issues, rather than internal labor standards, such as parental leave. This study examined various causes that lead to these results.

Agriculture and industry are tied up and both are complementary to each other. The fourth industrial revolution is an advanced digital technology, it focuses an opportunity that could change the environment in the way human think and work. The farms and factories must implement smart technology to move very fast and it should be an innovative applications to embrace the fourth industrial revolution robustly for Bangladesh. The fourth industrial revolution concept combines artificial intelligence and big data that have achieved significant attention and popularity in precision farming like in monitoring, diagnosing insect pests, measuring soil moisture, diagnosing harvest time and monitoring crop health status and reducing complicated monitoring by human. Industry that extend precision agriculture using artificial intelligence with robotic technology in fourth industrial revolution and its application is embedding into smart observation that retrieve real-time information from field level data with minor human interference. The fourth industrial revolution builds a smart farming technology which brings advanced and sustainable changes for both production and agroprocessing. The fourth industrial revolution extends farms production and also increase their value. This paper reviewed the past effects of industrial revolution, discussed expanded benefit into smart farming and predicted impacts of fourth industrial revolution in Bangladesh agriculture. Ann.
