The effectiveness of the use of sensory-motor correction in children with autism spectrum disorders in the process of adaptive physical education

The study involved 10 children aged 8 to 12 years with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Combinations of physical exercises were used, for the main muscle groups, and effects on the tactile, proprioceptive and vestibular sensory systems. The exercises are performed using the shells of the sensory-dynamic hall, which includes a number of various suspended modular elements. The data obtained showed the effectiveness of using sensory-motor correction to improve motor functions, normalize motor and vestibular sensitivity, form muscle feeling and differentiate muscle efforts, form and correct visual-motor coordination and attention. <p>The purpose of this work was to determine the effect of rock climbing as a means of adaptive physical education on behavior, emotional state, coordination of movements and quality of life of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Material and methods: Five children aged 8-9 with ASD participated in the experiment. All children who were involved in rock climbing had the same name. low-function autism (disability of subgroup A). They did not speak, they could neither read nor write, had problematic behavior, stereotyped movements, a large number of inappropriate movements, impaired coordination of movements, aggression and autoaggression. The children attended classes on rock climbing 2 times a week for 40 minutes. on a rock climbing bridge in Lviv from September 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. Classes were individual. Each of them started with warm-up (5 minutes), in the main part of the children were taught Bouldering (10 min.) And worked on high tracks up to 14 m (25 min.). Prior to the beginning of classes (August 2017), parents' questionnaires were conducted concerning the psychophysical status of children who were included in the experiment. The questionnaire was filled up by parents every three months during the experiment, which led to changes in the psychophysical state of their children. Results: Based on the results of an expert assessment of the psychophysical condition of children with RAS attending climbing classes, it can be argued that, against the backdrop of growth in the results of the skills of movements, the logic of passing the distance, the speed of solving motor tasks, a significant increase in positive emotions, there is a significant decrease in problem behavior. Climbing activities contribute to a significant increase in the quality of life of both children from the ASD and their parents. The results of the influence of the duration of classes on the components of the behavior of the children under study by multidimensional dispersion analysis showed a significant impact on the duration of occupations on various components of child behavior (p &lt;0.001). Conclusions The obtained results testify to the high efficiency of the use of rock climbing as a means of socialization of children with autism. Climbing is a powerful sensory stimulus for children with PAC. It is possible to recommend individual climbing exercises for children with ASD as an effective means of adaptive physical education.</p>

The article deals with the peculiarities of the mental development of children with autism spectrum disorders, their psychophysical abilities, the formation of cognitive functions, the means of communication, the development of the emotional-volitional sphere, behavior in society. Features  of correctional and pedagogical work with autistic children at the present stage are considered. A detailed definition of the definition of "autism", a modern classification of autism, the main features of autistic disorders in all its clinical variants are presented. Statistics on the incidence of autism in the world are provided. The characteristics and peculiarities of psychomotor development in preschool children with autism spectrum disorders and the logic of psychomotor development, the features of psychomotor development, the offered educational and correction tasks are presented. Importance and place of mobile games as the main means of adaptive physical education of preschool children with this nosology have been determined. Mobility games are distributed in the focus on the development of motor skills of preschool children with autism spectrum disorders. A modified classification of mobile games, entertainment, and entertainment that can be used in adaptive physical education and extracurricular forms of preschool-age  children with autism spectrum disorders is presented.

AbstractTurn-taking is a type of interaction where two individuals alternate a behaviour (e.g. during a conversation). Such competence – which is a foundamental key in the social behaviour – is often compromised in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). Neurodevelopmental therapists report how it is extremely difficult to teach this skill to young ASDs, yet it would be very important. In the current proposal we present an early prototype of interactive toy called X-8: it is a soft, wearable, six-legged octopus able to distinguish between two people, and produce different luminous patterns according to the user who is touching it. The toy can then potentially support therapists in set up sensory-motor games based on turn-taking rules. A first proof of concept is described and possible activities are proposed.

This descriptive study evaluates the speech disfluencies of 8 verbal children between 3 and 5 years of age with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Speech samples were collected for each child during standardized interactions. Percentage and types of disfluencies observed during speech samples are discussed. Although they did not have a clinical diagnosis of stuttering, all of the young children with ASD in this study produced disfluencies. In addition to stuttering-like disfluencies and other typical disfluencies, the children with ASD also produced atypical disfluencies, which usually are not observed in children with typically developing speech or developmental stuttering. (Yairi & Ambrose, 2005).
