scholarly journals An Empirical Analysis of using Blockchain Tech-nology with Internet of Things and its Application

Blockchain technology uses the cryptographic technique to create expanding list of data records called blocks. Along with transaction and timestamp data, each block holds a hash value obtained using cryptographic technique. Blockchain gains importance for its decentralized data transaction and authorization without the need for third-party intervention. Although, it is mostly used in Finance sector these days, due to its inherent ability to protect data it can be applied to every field of computation especially in fields where data transaction is voluminous. Internet of Things (IoT) is one such area where it involves collection, transfer and processing of real time data from objects, humans and sensors to automate various tasks. Hence, this paper reviews the blockchain technology, and how it can be coupled with IoT to overcome the privacy and security issues. This paper first systematically introduces the concept of blockchain technology, its applications along with the need for IoT devices and its implementation. Finally, it discusses the blockchain based IoT (BIoT) its architecture, advantages, challenges in implementation

Real time data acquisition and evaluation are required to save lives. Such data with utilization and application of the latest technologies in hospitals around the world can improve patient treatments and well beings. The delivery of patient's medical data needs to be secure. Secure and accurate real time data acquisition and analysis of patient data and the ability to update such data will assist in reducing cost while improving patient's care. A wireless framework based on radio frequency identification (RFID) can integrate wireless networks for fast data acquisition and transmission, while maintaining the privacy issue. This chapter discusses the development of a framework that can be considered for secure patient data collection and communications in a hospital environment. A new method for data classification and access authorization has also been developed, which will assist in preserving privacy and security of data. Several Case studies are offered to show the effectiveness of this framework.

Internet of things (IoT) technology plays a vital role in the current technologies because IoT develops a network by integrating different kinds of objects and sensors to create the communication among objects directly without human interaction. With the presence of internet of things technology in our daily comes smart thinking and various advantages. At the same time, secure systems have been a most important concern for the protection of information systems and networks. However, adopting traditional security management systems in the internet of things leads several issues due to the limited privacy and policies like privacy standards, protocol stacks, and authentication rules. Usually, IoT devices has limited network capacities, storage, and computing processors. So they are having more chances to attacks. Data security, privacy, and reliability are three main challenges in the IoT security domain. To address the solutions for the above issues, IoT technology has to provide advanced privacy and policies in this large incoming data source. Blockchain is one of the trending technologies in the privacy management to provide the security. So this chapter is focused on the blockchain technologies which can be able to solve several IoT security issues. This review mainly focused on the state-of-the-art IoT security issues and vulnerabilities by existing review works in the IoT security domains. The taxonomy is presented about security issues in the view of communication, architecture, and applications. Also presented are the challenges of IoT security management systems. The main aim of this chapter is to describe the importance of blockchain technology in IoT security systems. Finally, it highlights the future directions of blockchain technology roles in IoT systems, which can be helpful for further improvements.

Internet of Things has been increasing its usage and recognition in vast sectors like Defence, Business, Industries, and Hospitals. The data disruption is strictly unacceptable in a number of these sectors because it could end up in serious Loss or Damages to the entire system. As of now, IOT is using a central cloud storage system for information storage and transactions. However, some examples already verified that Central cloud storage information might be hacked and changed by the specialists. This paper presents an IoT system having localized block chain storage which works on real time data and manipulates with narrowness of data interruption and modification and its recovery.

Objectives: To study the impact of Internet of things (IoT) on the Customer Relationship Management process and evaluate the benefits in terms of customer satisfaction and customer retention. Methods: An extensive literature review was conducting wherein the constructs of CRM and IoT are studied. Various preliminary information on IoT and CRM system along with the components of Digital enablers have been evaluated. References from research papers, journals, Internet sites, statistical data sites and books were used to collate the relevant content on the subject. The study of all the relevant scenarios where there is a possible impact of IoT origin real time data on CRM was undertaken. Findings: Customer demands are continuously evolving and it is very relevant for all the organizations to align and keep pace with the change. Organizations need to be customer centric and agile to the changing market scenarios. Evaluation of the trends in mobile internet vs desktop internet was also conducted to validate the findings. Application: The usage of real time data emerging out of the IoT landscape has become a reality with the data transmitted over the Internet and consumed by the CRM system. It improves the control on the customer relationship function helping the organizations to operate within healthy and sustained profit

Convergence of Cloud, IoT, Networking devices and Data science has ignited a new era of smart cities concept all around us. The backbone of any smart city is the underlying infrastructure involving thousands of IoT devices connected together to work in real time. Data Analytics can play a crucial role in gaining valuable insights into the volumes of data generated by these devices. The objective of this paper is to apply some most commonly used classification algorithms to a real time dataset and compare their performance on IoT data. The performance summary of the algorithms under test is also tabulated
