scholarly journals Automation of Home using Internet of Things (IoT)

Home automation is popularizing more and more and becoming more and more accessible by millions of users due to its various advantages. The home automation is done by using local networking or by internet for remotely control of devices. Paper looks forward atdesigning and making home automationapplication as on the Pi through a user platform installed on various smart devices such as smart phone, smart watch, laptops etc. for selecting option for controlling operation of connected electrical devices. The results shows an efficient proposed system for smart home-automation.

In this research paper the researcher emphasized the significant role of internet of things (IoT) for designing smart home automation with high security. The IoT is based on the internet and automated devices which are controlled by remotely using a PC, Smart phone, Tablet or other devices. The IoT is an intelligently connected devices and system which comprised of smart machines, environment, objects, and in-frastructure, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and sensors which will lead to meet the new challenges of Home Automation. In this research paper the researcher review the current research issues on Internet of Things(IoT) and Home Automation devices which are signif-icant to design the smart home or offices gadgets interact , seamlessly, surely control, monitor and improve accessibility from anywhere across the globe. The researcher used some of the statistical data from the STATISTA to show the current usage of smart home automation devices and it significant uses across the globe.

Smart home can apply new internet of things concepts along cloud service technologies. This paper introduces a novel method for smart home system building. The system is driven by use case and it is composed of home control center, zigbee end devices, smart phone applications and cloud server. The home control center is based on arm-linux embedded system, it is the relay of cloud server and home devices. Wireless network of smart home devices was designed according to zigbee. A smart phone application was developed as the role of the user interface.

Internet of things (IoT) plays significant role in the fourth industrial revolution and attracts an increasing interest due to the rapid development of smart devices. IoT comprises factors of twofold. Firstly, a set of things (i.e., appliances, devices, vehicles, etc.) connected together via network. Secondly, human-device interaction to communicate with these things. Speech is the most natural methodology of interaction that can enrich user experience. In this paper, we propose a novel and effective approach for building customized voice interaction for controlling smart devices in IoT environments (i.e., Smart home). The proposed approach is based on extracting customized tiny decoding graph from a large graph constructed using weighted finite sates transducers. Experimental results showed that tiny decoding graphs are very efficient in terms of computational resources and recognition accuracy in clean and noisy conditions. To emphasize the effectiveness of the proposed approach, the standard Resources Management (RM1) dataset was employed and promising results were achieved when compared with four competitive approaches.

Smart home is one of the most promising applications of the Internet of Things. Although there have been studies about this technology in recent years, the adoption rate of smart homes is still low. One of the largest barriers is technological fragmentation within the smart home ecosystem. Currently, there are many protocols used in a connected home, increasing the confusion of consumers when choosing a product for their house. One possible solution for this fragmentation is to make a gateway to handle the diverse protocols as a central hub in the home. However, this solution brings about another issue for manufacturers: compatibility. Because of the various smart devices on the market, supporting all possible devices in one gateway is also an enormous challenge. In this paper, we propose a software architecture for a gateway in a smart home system to solve the compatibility problem. By creating a mechanism to dynamically download and update a device profile from a server, the gateway can easily handle new devices. Moreover, the proposed gateway also supports unified control over heterogeneous networks. We implemented a prototype to prove the feasibility of the proposed gateway architecture and evaluated its performance from the viewpoint of message execution time over heterogeneous networks, as well as the latency for device profile downloads and updates, and the overhead needed for handling unknown commands.

Now a day's technology is increasing rapidly. Automation in security part makes it progressively credible. There are numerous electrical hardware's are accessible in home which are in need of observing from a remote territory all at once. IoT (internet of things) is developing to an immense degree. it includes coordinated effort of various gadgets and at last accomplishing effective home automation as one application. It allows controlling home machines throughout the web. The house computerization is controlling the light ON/OFF condition using blynk app. This paper report overall mechanization and protection system. If a burglar is detected, the safety system is capturing the picture and sends it e-mails to the user. To trigger the alarm as well.
