The work presents 21 taxa of Agave L. genus (18 species and 3 subspecies) and 15 taxa (12 species, 2 varieties and 1 form) of Yucca L. genus. To select a promising assortment of the succulents for the Southern Coast of the Crimea landscaping, the ecological characteristics of the plants (the exacting attitude towards the soil environment - acidic, neutral, alkaline; the rate of a soil moisture - excessive, sufficient, insufficient; the resistance against gas, dust, wind, heat, salt; the frost resistance - frost-resistant, not enough frost-resistant; the drought resistance - drought-resistant, insufficiently drought-resistant) have been studied. According to the classification of types (species) of garden and park plantings, adopted in landscape design, for each studied taxon, the most optimal options for using in landscaping in the conditions of the Souther Coast are given.

Changes in the polyphenoloxidase activity in the leaves of four cultivars and one subspecies of Olea europaea L. were studied during the cold periods of 2016-2019 years on the Southern Coast of the Crimea. Nikitskaya cultivar was used as a model of high frost resistance, while Correggiolo cultivar and the subspecies O. europaea subsp. cuspidata were models of low frost resistance. It was found out that the polyphenoloxidase activity depends on weather conditions during a particular cold period and it almost independent of the degree of frost resistance of the studied genotypes.

In order to determine special features of the photosynthetic apparatus activity and the content of thread compounds in various apricot cultivars during the period of maximum drought probability on the Southern Coast of the Crimea, we studied the concentration of proline, phenolic compounds and chlorophylls, as well as the parameters of chlorophyll fluorescence induction (CFI) in some apricot cultivars ( Prunus armeniaca Lam.), characterized by various degree of drought tolerance (‘Alupkinsky’, ‘Krymskiy Amur’) are weakly resistant; Khurmai cultivar is characterized by labile resistance, and the cultivars Kazachok, Professor Smykov, Nagycorosi Orias are drought tolerant cultivars). It has been found out that drought-resistant cultivars are characterized by a relatively low content of proline in their leaves. It is supposed that this amino acid is involved in the protective reactions of apricot plants under water stress. The results of the photosynthetic apparatus studies in the presented cultivars demonstrated that in leaves, water loss less than 20% caused reversible changes in the parameters of CFI. An increase in the water deficit up to 25-30% caused the destruction of PS2 in weakly drought-resistant cultivars. The most stable photosynthetic apparatus activity was noticed in the cultivar Nagycorosi Orias. Deviations in photosynthesis processes were most pronounced during the period of water restoration in leaves.

The aim of the work is to supplement and clarify the annotated list of vascular plants of “Castel” nature reserve on the Southern coast of the Crimea. Methods. The work is based on the results of long standing field research, which was carried out by the traditional route-reconnaissance method, analysis of YALT herbarium materials and data from literary and Internet sources. Arealogical and biomorphological characteristics of species are given according to "Biological Flora of the Crimea" by V.N. Golubev, biotope coding according to EUNIS habitat classification. The nomenclature of taxa corresponds to the " Spontaneuos flora of the Crimean peninsula" by A.V. Yena and to international databases Euro+Med PlantBase, The Plant List, Catalog of Life. Results. An additional annotated list of vascular plants of “Castel” nature reserve has been compiled, including 152 species, subspecies and cultivars from 97 genera of 38 families, of which 53 genera and 11 families have also not been cited for this territory before. Arealogical, biomorphological, biotopic and sozological characteristics of the taxa are given. As a result of a critical analysis of the list previously published by E.S. Krainyuk, four species were redefined, two species were proposed to be excluded from the flora of the specially protected natural area, several taxa are considered doubtful. Conclusions. The list of vascular plant taxa in “Castel” nature reserve has been supplemented with 11 families, 53 genera, and 152 species, subspecies, and cultivars; several species from the previously compiled list have been proposed to be excluded or considered doubtful. Thus, the flora of the protected area includes at least 425 species from 68 families. For the first time, the biotopic characteristic of the flora of the reserve was established.

Abstract Isodontia mexicana (Hymenoptera, Sphecidae), a New Invasive Wasp Species in the Fauna of Ukraine Reared from Trap-Nests in the Crimea. Fateryga, A. V., Protsenko, Yu. V., Zhidkov, V. Yu. - Th e North American wasp Isodontia mexicana was found for the first time in Ukraine in trap-nests operated near Pushkino (southern coast of the Crimea) in 2012. Th ree nests contained five cocoons, from which only one adult wasp emerged in 2013, allowing the positive identification; other cocoons were either empty (one) or destroyed by Melittobia acasta (three). Such a find of a newly established invasive species in Ukraine represents the easternmost point in its European range and possibly the most remarkable jump-dispersal event in its distribution.
