The rare symbiotic alpheid shrimp Salmoneus erasimorum Dworschak, Abed-Navandi & Anker, 2000 was previously known from a single specimen collected with a suction pump on the Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea, together with its host, the ghost shrimp, Gilvossius tyrrhenus (Petagna, 1792). A second record of S. erasimorum is presented here, with a diagnosis and the first colour photographs, based on a single specimen collected in northern Brittany, France, also with a suction pump, but without its host. This is also the first record of the species on the European coast of the Atlantic Ocean. An annotated list and a key to the species of Salmoneus currently known from the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea are provided.

An annotated list of dolichopodid species recorded from Kurile Archipelago (Russia) is given for the first time. Sciapus basarukini sp. n. from Kunashir Island is described and illustrated. New records for 26 species, including 8 species new for the Kurile Islands, are presented. Long-legged flies are recorded for the first time from the Anuchina, Tanfilyeva, Polonskogo, Urup, Chirpoy, Brat-Chirpoyev, Simushir, Ushishir, Matua, Raikoke, Paramushir, Kharimkotan, Makanrushi, Atlasov, and Onekotan islands. Two species are excluded from the fauna of Kurils. In total, 54 species are recorded from the Kurile Archipelago that appa¬rently makes up 50–60% of the actual dolichopodid fauna in this region. The trends discovered on the Kurile Islands for plant species, i.e. the landscape diversity and the number of plant species increase from small to large islands, and decrease from southern islands northward, are generally supported by the case of flies of the family Dolichopodidae.

The following new species of Cyclocephala Dejean, 1821 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Dynastinae: Cyclocephalini) are described from Peru: C. mateoi Paz & Ratcliffe, C. ukuku Paz & Ratcliffe, and C. hylaea Ratcliffe & Paz. A description, diagnosis, geographic distribution, notes on natural history, and illustrations are provided for each new species. Six Cyclocephala species are reported for the first time from Peru: C. emarginata Endrödi, 1964, C. guianae Endrödi, 1969, C. kuntzeniana Höhne, 1923, C. malyi Dupuis, 2014, C. ovulum Bates, 1888, and C. sylviae Dechambre, 1995. An updated, annotated list of the 81 Peruvian species of Cyclocephala is provided.

The genus Liroetis Weise, 1889 is redefi ned. The following new synonymies are established: Liroetis Weise, 1889 = Siemssenius Weise, 1922, syn. nov. = Pseudoliroetis Laboissière, 1929, syn. nov. = Zangia Chen, 1976, syn. nov. Consequently, the following new combinations are proposed: Liroetis coeruleus (Jiang, 1990) comb. nov.; Liroetis latispinus (Chen, 1976) comb. nov.; Liroetis nigricollis (Jiang, 1990) comb. nov.; Liroetis pallidulus (Jiang, 1990) comb. nov. (all from Zangia); Liroetis nigropictus (Fairmaire, 1889) comb. nov. (from Leptarthra); Liroetis cheni (Lee, 2016) comb. nov.; Liroetis elongatus (Kimoto, 1977) comb. nov.; Liroetis jeanvoinei (Laboissière, 1929) comb. nov.; Liroetis jungchani (Lee, 2016) comb. nov.; Liroetis liui (Lee, 2016) comb. nov.; Liroetis metallipennis (Chûjô, 1962) comb. nov.; Liroetis modestus (Weise, 1922) comb. nov.; Liroetis nigriceps (Laboissière, 1929) comb. nov.; Liroetis rufi pennis (Chûjô, 1962) comb. nov.; Liroetis sulcipennis (Zhang & Yang, 2008) comb. nov.; Liroetis tsoui (Lee, 2016) comb. nov.; and Liroetis yuae (Lee, 2016) comb. nov. A new substitute name, Liroetis medvedevi nom. nov., is proposed for L. nigricollis Medvedev, 2009 preoccupied by L. nigricollis (Jiang, 1990). The following new synonyms are established: Liroetis aeneipennis Weise, 1889 = L. tiemushannis Jiang, 1988, syn. nov.; Liroetis ephippiatus Laboissière, 1930 = Zangia signata Jiang, 1990, syn. nov. = L. postmaculatus Lopatin, 2004, syn. nov.; Liroetis leechi Jacoby, 1890 = L. verticalis Jiang, 1988, syn. nov.; Liroetis nigricollis (Jiang, 1990) = L. unicolor Zhang, Li & Yang, 2008, syn. nov.; Liroetis reitteri (Pic, 1934) = Pseudoliroetis trifasciata Jiang, 1992, syn. nov. The spelling of Liroetis tiemushannis Jiang, 1988 is fixed using the First Reviewer Principle. Species of Liroetis are divided into five species-groups based on the combination of the following characters: presence/absence of border on anterior pronotal margin, width/length ratio of pronotum, structure of aedeagus, presence/absence of metatibial spur. The established groups are: the aeneipennis group, the aurantiacus group, the flavipennis group, the fulvipennis group, and the grandis group. The gender of Liroetis is masculine.

Introduction. The article deals with statistical analysis of the data borrowed from volumes 1 and 2 of the edition titled ‘Memory. Sanl’. The volumes publish annotated lists of 22.9 thousand Red Army servicemen in the category of fatal casualties (KIAs, DOWs and MIAs) from the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, and most of the latter had been conscripted in the Kalmyk ASSR. Goals. The article compiles a database of Red Army conscripts from the Kalmyk ASSR further categorized as ‘fatal casualties’ (from the abovementioned edition) and attempts a statistical analysis by year of birth, place (district) of birth, date and place (military commissariat) of conscription. Materials and methods. The main research source is the annotated list of Red Army’s casualties published in volumes 1 and 2 of ‘Memory. Sanl’. The author employs a wide range of scientific methods, both general scientific and historical ones. The need for statistical analysis results in the wide use of statistical and extrapolation methods. Results. The work shows that both the volumes contain quite a number of repetitions; there are also errors, inaccuracies, discrepancies. There is also simultaneous use of outdated and modern names of geographical objects. Therefore, the present compiled and corrected database contains a significant portion of statistical data categorized in terms of a variety parameters, and further use of the latter will contribute to the research of a collective portrait of Red Army servicemen conscripted in the Kalmyk ASSR during the Great Patriotic War.

В статье приводятся дополнения к флоре национального парка «Смоленское Поозерье», выявленные со времени издания аннотированного списка (Решетникова, 2002). Обсуждаются: 1) новые для территории виды (76 видов); 2) морфологические формы уже приведённых ранее видов (7 таксонов); 3) указания, нуждающиеся в подтверждении (12 видов); 4) ошибочно указанные виды (31 вид). The article contains additions to the flora of the Smolenskoe Poozerie National Park, identified since the publication of the annotated list (Reshetnikova, 2002). Here we discuss: (1) species new to the territory (76 species), (2) morphological forms of the previously mentioned species (7 taxa), (3) indications requiring confirmation (12 species), and (4) mistakenly identified species (31 species).

The paper presents the combined results of studies of the macromycetes found in the vicinities of the state museum-reserve «Kulikovo Field» for 2000–2017. The annotated list includes 375 species of macrofungi from the Ascomycota and Basidiomycota phyla. 5 species included in in the second edition of the Red Data Book of Tula Region are marked.

Aim. To compile and analyze an annotated list of autochthonous vitamin-bearing plant species of the Kiev Plateau, which according to ethnobotanical traditions are often used by the population of this region. Methods. The research was carried out in 2002–2021 in natural phytocoenoses of the Kyiv Plateau and artificial phytocoenoses of  M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NBG). Research methods are field and cameral. Dozens of locals were surveyed to find out which autochthonous vitamin-bearing plant species are most commonly used by the region's population. Latin names of plants are given according to the generally accepted taxonomy (Mosyakin & Fedoronchuk, 1999). A linear system (Golubev, 1972) was used for biomorphological analysis. The classification scheme of florocoenotypes (Kamelin, 1973) was used for ecologo-coenotic analysis. Results. An annotated list of autochthonous vitamin-bearing plant species of the Kyiv Plateau, which is frequently used by the population of the region, is given. The spectrum of families, biomorphological and ecologo-coenotic spectra, and priority of use of certain parts of plants are analyzed. Conclusions. The annotated list describes 43 species of plants belonging to 36 genera and 21 families. Rosaceae (26%) has the largest share in the spectrum of families. The biomorphological spectrum is dominated by herbaceous plants (61%), namely, herbaceous polycarpics (49%). In the ecologo-cenotic spectrum, the largest share is occupied by species of forest (42%) and meadow (33%) florocoenotypes. For practical use, the population of the region most often collects aboveground parts of plants, in particular, aboveground shoots (46%) or aboveground shoots and fruits (33%). All plant species listed in the annotated list are presented ex situ in the NBG. More than half of them (65.1%) are exhibited on the botanical-geographical plot “Steppes of Ukraine” of the NBG.

A descriptive survey of the vascular flora and plant habitats of Brush Creek Island, a 6.7-ha Ohio River island in Lewis County, Kentucky, was conducted during 1995–1996 and 2012. Brush Creek Island (BC), one of three Ohio River islands politically a part of Kentucky, is currently under private ownership and projected as a future part of the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Two major habitats in 2012 were Vegetated Unconsolidated Shoreline and Bottomland Hardwood Forest, a final sere of Late Old Field and Immature Bottomland Hardwood Forest. Two additional 1996 habitats, a seasonal Riverine Emergent Wetland and Late Old Field, were altered through fluvial action and secondary succession processes by 2012. An annotated list consists of 330 species in 220 genera from 82 families. Taxa are composed of one Monilophyte, four Magnoliids, 76 Monocots, and 249 Eudicots. Ninety-three taxa (28.2%) are non-native adventive or naturalized spe-cies. Forty-eight taxa (54%) are classified as Kentucky invasive plants. A total of 189 species (57.3%) are hydrophytes. Ninety-five native or non-native taxa (28.8%) are Lewis County distribution records.

As a result of the research, the species composition of lichens and closely related fungi of the oak forest of the reserve «Vydritsa» (Republic of Belarus, Gomel Region) has been revealed. An annotated list, including 113 species has been compiled, 106 of these species are lichens, 6 – non-lichenised saprobic and 1 – lichenicolous fungi. Species Calicium adspersum, Cetrelia olivetorum, Chaenotheca chlorella, Cladonia caespiticia, Lobaria pulmonaria and Parmotrema stuppeum are included in the Red Data Book of Belarus and are listed for the first time for the Svetlogorsk district and the reserve «Vydritsa». The indicator lichens of old-growth oak forests include 20 species; 28 species were recorded in all 12 surveyed localities.
