Seasonal variation in physico-chemical and zooplankton communities of Dejla Dewada Reservoir (D.D.R.), West Nimar district (Khargone) was studied during October 2009 to September 2010. Protozoa, Rotifera, Copepoda, Cladocera and Ostrcoda were found dominated zooplanktonic groups. The total zooplankton density ranged between 879 unit/L to 2980 unit/L.The composition of zooplankton was found as Protozoa >Rotifera>Copepoda>Cladocera>Ostracoda.

Water quality assessment has been carried out in the Hakaluki Haor of greater Sylhet district during May, 2013 to February, 2014. Water samples were collected from 5 spots during 4 seasons and a total of 15 physico-chemical parameters were studied. Significant seasonal variation was observed in all seasons among physico-chemical parameters. pH values varied from 5.9 - 7.1, water temperature varied from 23.7 – 26.7OC, transference varied from 23-53 cm, TSS varied from 18.1-192 mg/l, TDS varied 25-193.5 mg/l, EC varied from 30-680 ?s/cm , DO content of water varied from 4.6 - 5.6mg/l, BOD varied from 0.2-2.614 mg/l, COD varied from 38-312 mg/l, NO3-N varied from 0.1-30.4 mg/l, NH3 varied from 0.9-2.18 mg/l, alkalinity varied from 12-42 mg/l and PO4 varied from 0.9 -13.4 (mg/l). Zooplankton constitute important food item of many omnivorous and carnivorous fishes. The study was conducted with an aim to study the zooplankton production including physico-chemical parameters with an emphasis to the existing management practices taken by the operators. The study was carried out in a culture and a non-culture pond of Rajshahi University campus was carried out from September, 2004 to February, 2005. Monthly fluctuations of some physico-chemical parameters were noted. The ponds showed alkaline in nature with moderate bicarbonate alkalinity. Diurnal change of water temperature, free CO2 and dissolved Oxygen were also studied. Four groups of zooplankton were identified, of which copepods (1260 units/l and 973.33 units/l in pond-1 and pond-2 respectively) were most dominant. A total of 9 genera of zooplankton were identified of which Cyclops (68.25% and 60.28% of total copepods) was most abundant in both ponds. Total zooplankton showed positive correlation with pH, carbonate alkalinity (CO3) and bicarbonate alkalinity (HCO3) in both ponds and DO, carbon dioxide (CO2) in pond-1. Present findings indicated that the culture pond showed better result than that of the non-culture pond regarding zooplankton production. Composition and abundance of zooplankton in a polyculture pond was studied during June 2003 to May 2004. A total of 33 major species of zooplankton including 11genera of Rotifera, 4 of Copepoda, 4 genera of Cladocera and 2 genera of Protozoa were identified. The monthly abundance of zooplankton varied form 4228 indiv/l in October 2003 to169 indiv/l in January 2004. Among the total zooplankton, Rotifera comprised of 71.07%, Copepoda comprised of 12.49% Nauplii comprised of 11.96%, Cladocera comprised of 1.49% and Protozoa comprised of 2.99%. Water temperature (r = 0.18), free CO2 (r = 0.40), TDS (r = 0.14) and water depth (r = 0.55) showed positive correlation with zooplankton but air temperature, pH, dissolved O2, total hardness and ammonia showed negative correlation (the coefficients being -0.18, -0.05, -0.25, -0.38 and -0.11 respectively) with the occurrence of zooplankton. The average growth of fishes and zooplankton showed positive correlation in all cases but the relations were insignificant when tested statistically.Bangladesh J. Zool. 42(1): 67-76, 2014

Water samples were collected from three points of Louhajong river (Dighulia, Kagmari Bridge and Oloa) to see the seasonal variation in physico-chemical parameters. The results revealed that some of the parameters such as TDS, alkalinity and acidity have exceeded the standard level in dry season in all of the points, which are unsuitable for different purposes including fish culture. During dry and wet seasons the highest concentrations of BOD was recorded as 2.0 and 0.8 ppm at Kagmari Bridge (point-2) respectively. DO ranged from 1.4 to 3.1 and 2.4 to 3.8 ppm during dry and wet seasons. Maximum and minimum EC was recorded as 890 and 130 ?s/cm at Dighulia (point-1) during dry and wet seasons. The results suggest that at wet season Louhajong river may be suitable for fish culture and other purposes.Bangladesh J. Sci. Res. 28(1): 9-16, June-2015

The present study is carried out during the period of January, 2020 to December, 2020 to investigate seasonal variation of the zooplankton in Song river, Gularghati, District Dehradun. During study period total 22 zooplankton species were found belonging to different groups. Protozoa consist of 8 species, rotifera consist of 7 species, copepoda consist of 5 species and two species of ostrocoda. The number of zooplankton was highest in summer season followed by winter and monsoon season.
