An important objective of a group decision-making problem is to determine the weights of attributes that are given by experts participating in the decision-making process. Since different decision-makers have unequal importance in decision-making, a series of studies focused on finding a set of appropriate weights for experts participating in a decision problem. In this paper, the problem of weight determination among decision-makers is investigated by extending an algorithm taken from the technique for order preference by similarity-to-ideal solution. In this case, a pair of most compromising and least compromising solutions is derived from individual judgments of decision-makers and then, these solutions are applied as the bases for determining the magnitude of individual alignment with the group opinion by using a closeness coefficient approach. Determining the weights of decision-makers, the group decision-making problem is then solved. Application of the proposed method is illustrated by a numerical example for the selection of a maintenance strategy.

The urban transit network planning is considered as a group decision making problem with multiple objectives and multiple decision makers, due to the its planning characteristics. A new group decision making method is presented to overcome the problem in current group decision making. With the idea of integration and collaboration, the group decision making problem is turned into the group decision making with multiple objectives and decision makers, and the two stage decision model is established. The dynamic index is transformed into static index with the dynamic multi-valued context, and the first stage decision model is established by entropy weight theory. The weight is given by experts with cluster analysis, and the aggregation model of group decision making is established with relative entropy, in the second stage.

An effective decision making approach based on VIKOR and Choquet integral is developed to solve multicriteria group decision making problem with conflicting criteria and interdependent subjective preference of decision makers in a fuzzy environment where preferences of decision makers with respect to criteria are represented by interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets. First, an interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Choquet integral operator is given. Some of its properties are investigated in detail. The extended VIKOR decision procedure based on the proposed operator is developed for solving the multicriteria group decision making problem where the interactive criteria weight is measured by Shapley value. An illustrative example is given for demonstrating the applicability of the proposed decision procedure for solving the multi-criteria group decision making problem in interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment.

This paper presents an extension of the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method with objective criteria weights for Group Decision Making (GDM) with Interval Numbers (INs). The proposed method is an alternative to popular and often used methods that aggregate the decision matrices provided by the decision makers (DMs) into a single group matrix, which is the basis for determining objective criteria weights and ranking the alternatives. It does not use an aggregation operator, but a transformation of the decision matrices into criteria matrices, in the case of determining objective criteria weights, and into alternative matrices, in the case of the ranking of alternatives. This ensures that all the decision makers’ evaluations are taken into account instead of their certain average. The numerical example shows the ease of use of the proposed method, which can be implemented into common data analysis software such as Excel.

Aiming at the mixed multiattribute group decision-making problem of interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers, a weighted average (WA) operator model based on interval Pythagorean fuzzy sets is constructed. Furthermore, a decision-making method based on the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method with interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers is proposed. First, based on the completely unknown weights of decision-makers and attributes, interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers are applied to TOPSIS group decision-making. Second, the interval Pythagorean fuzzy number WA operator is used to synthesize the evaluation matrices of multiple decision-makers into a comprehensive evaluation matrix, and the relative closeness of each scheme is calculated based on the TOPSIS decision-making method. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed method.

PurposeThe aim of this research is to establish a new type of aggregation operator based on Hamacher operational law of spherical uncertain linguistic numbers (SULNs).Design/methodology/approachFirst, the authors define spherical uncertain linguistic sets and develop some operational laws of SULNs. Furthermore, the authors extended these operational laws to the aggregation operator and developed spherical uncertain linguistic Hamacher averaging and geometric aggregation operators.FindingsThe authors were limited in achieving a consistent opinion on the fusion in group decision-making problem with the SULN information.Originality/valueIn order to give an application of the introduced operators, the authors first constrict a system of multi-attribute decision-making algorithm.

PurposeThis study aims to construct a Weber point-based model to complete the visualization of preference aggregation in group decision-making problem, in which decision-makers are associated with trust relationship.Design/methodology/approachThis study mainly comprises four parts: trust propagation, preference aggregation, opinion adjustment and alternative selection. Firstly, the incomplete trust between decision-makers is completed with trust transfer operators and propagation probability in trust propagation process. Secondly, a preference aggregation model based on Weber point is proposed to aggregate the group preference visually. Thirdly, opinions are adjusted to reach a consensus. Finally, the ranking of alternatives is determined by the correlation coefficient with the group preference as a reference.FindingsThe Weber point-based model proposed in this study can minimize the gap in the preference of alternatives between the group and all decision-makers, and realize the visualization of aggregation result. A case of plan selection is introduced to illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model.Originality/valueBy comparing the result with the weighted average-based preference aggregation method, the Weber point-based model proposed in this study can show the result of preference aggregation intuitively and improve group consensus.

The cubic q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (Cq-ROFS) contains much more information to determine the interval valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (IVq-ROFSs) and q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets (q-ROFSs) simultaneously for coping with the vagueness in information. It provides more space for decision makers (DMs) to describe their opinion in the environment of fuzzy set (FS) theory. In this paper, firstly, we introduce the conception of Cq-ROFS and their characteristics. Further, the Heronian mean (HM) operator based on Cq-ROFS, called the weighted HM operator, are explored. To overcome the deficiency of HM operator and keeping in mind the partitioned structure in real decision situations, we offer Cubic q-rung orthopair fuzzy partitioned HM operator and its weighted shape. An algorithm of the proposed operators based on multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems for the selection of best alternative among the given ones is established. Lastly, we provide an example to depict the authenticity and advantages of the exposed methods by contrasting with other existing drawbacks.

Groups are generally considered to be more effective as compared to single individuals. The practical implementation of Operation Research methods in group negotiations needs simple contexts and clear cause-and-effect relationships easily discernible by everyone. This paper proposes a multi-criteria group decision-making approach allowing decision makers/experts involved in a negotiation process to better express and defend their preferences in the selection of the best alternative. In the proposed approach, the most appropriate alternative is the alternative with the largest number of appearances in the first position or in ranking lists, or the one determined based on negotiations of decision makers/experts. The proposed ARCAS approach is based on the use of the ARAS method, a new normalization procedure, and the SWARA method. In the proposed approach, each decision maker/expert involved in evaluation has an opportunity to set the preferred level of rating for each criterion used in such evaluation. Finally, a case study is presented in order to highlight the proposed approach. The obtained results confirm the usability and efficiency of the proposed approach.
