This research aimed to report two species of Brachyuran crabs that were found rarely from Indonesian waters. The latest report was more than one hundred years ago, and the study from Indonesia before was not so clear, both information about specimens and location details. We conducted our study in Southern Aru Island and Malacca Strait using trawl during the cruise research which was held by the Research Institute for Marine Fisheries, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. Our findings were Izanami reticulata, New Record (family Matutidae) from Southern Aru Island, and Cryptopodia fornicata (family Parthenopidae) from Malacca Strait. The two locations are located close to the location where the species was found in previous studies, namely the Arafura Sea which is adjacent to the Aru Islands, and the Malacca Strait which is adjacent to Borneo. We suspect that the presence of these two species in western and eastern Indonesia was due to their distribution during the pelagic larval stage through the sea current. This article also provided the specific habitat for both species which has not been stated. In addition, this article will contribute to strengthening Indonesia as a mega biodiversity country with initiate compiling the database of Brachyura in Indonesian waters.

Abstract Results of faunistic research of aquatic Coleoptera in seven Natura 2000 Sites of Community Importance are presented in this paper. Altogether, 50 species were recorded. One species, Helochares (Helochares) punctatus Sharp, 1869, is recorded as new to the fauna of Slovakia. Three very rare species in Slovakia (Dryops similaris Bollow 1936, Limnius intermedius Fairmaire, 1881, and Hydraena excisa Kiesenwetter, 1849) were found at new sites. First faunistic records on aquatic Coleoptera from two important protected sites are presented. Furthermore, data on the occurrence of several species and on the water beetle diversity of partial river basins of Slovakia were considerably extended.

Abstract In this paper, a new distribution record of Phytolacca acinosa in Poland is presented. It was found on 30 September 2018 in Kraków, southern Poland, growing in a hedge of Ligustrum vulgare. Currently, it should be treated as a casual alien species in the Polish flora. The updated map of the distribution of P. acinosa in Poland is provided using the ATPOL cartogram method.

The stenopodidean shrimp Odontozona spongicola (Alcock & Anderson, 1899) collected by the South Java Deep-Sea Biodiversity Expedition 2018 (SJADES 2018) is a new record from Indonesia. The specimen of O. spongicola recently listed from the South China Sea is also formally reported here in. The characteristcs and coloration of this rare species are described and illustrated.

SummaryPelonaia corrugata in the Firth of Clyde breeds for only 2–4 weeks in January or February. The species is oviparous. Early cleavage is similar to that of other ascidians, but after gastrulation the embryo passes through a two-hemisphere stage. One of these hemispheres is endodermal. From the other hemisphere, which slowly envelops the endoderm, two ampullae grow and fix the embryo to the substratum. The young ascidian develops directly from this attached embryo, and the development is therefore anural. Elimination of the pelagic larval stage is regarded as an adaptation to the sand-dwelling habit of the adult, as it prevents dispersal to unsuitable habitats.

Gonatopus mariae Martins, Lara, Perioto & Olmi, 2015, described from the state of São Paulo, is recorded for the first time in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, representing the first record of the genus and species from the state. The specimen was collected with a Malaise Dossel trap and deposited at the Entomological Collection of the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Brazil). A diagnosis and illustration of this species are presented  demonstrating morphological variation of the type material. A distribution map is also provided. Gonatopus mariae is a rare species and its distribution is probably restricted to the southeastern region of Brazil.

Despite the huge diversity of Doryctinae, with about 3,000 species estimated, the subfamily also has about 30% of its approximately 205 genera as monotypic. Most of these monotypic genera are known from a few specimens used to describe its species and then remain without further records. Here we were able to enlarge the distribution knowledge of a monotypic genera making the first record of Parsteres pilosus Gadelha, Nunes & Oliveira, 2016, to the Atlantic Forest biome at Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

The paper presents new data about the diversity of invertebrates associated with decomposed wood from the Plaiul Fagului Reserve. A total of 60 invertebrate species belonging to 45 genera, 20 families and two classes Collembola and Insecta (Coleoptera and Hymenoptera) were identified. A rare species - Carabus intricatus and C. ullrichi included in the third edition of the Red Book were highlighted. Four new species of Coleoptera are recorded for the first time for the reserve
