Himalcercyon Hebauer, 2002 stat. nov. is elevated to genus rank based on the unique form of its mesoventral elevation. The genus is reviewed, redescribed, and illustrated in detail. Two species are recognized: Himalcercyon mirus (Hebauer, 2002) comb. nov. from Nepal and H. franzisp. nov. from Chinese Himalaya (Xizang Autonomous Region). Both species are illustrated and diagnosed. An updated key to the Asian genera of the tribe Megasternini (Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae, Sphaeridiinae) is provided, along with the SEM micrographs of ventral morphology of these genera. New replacement name Oreosternumnom. nov. is proposed for Oreocyon Hebauer, 2002 which is preoccupied by Oreocyon Marsh, 1872 (Mammalia, Oxyenidae) and Oreocyon Krumbiegel, 1949 (Mammalia, Canidae).

Pima tristriatasp. nov. is described as new to science based on specimens collected from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, and P. boisduvaliella (Guenée, 1845) is also treated here for comparison. DNA barcodes of the two species are provided, together with a neighbor-joining tree for species delimitation. A key to the Holarctic species and a distribution map of the Chinese species are presented.

The genus Microstenus Szépligeti, 1916 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Cryptinae) is newly recorded from China based on a new species, Microstenus rufithorax Sheng, Li & Sun, sp. nov., collected from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Oriental part of China. Illustrations of the new species are provided. A key to the world species of this genus is also provided.

A new genus with a new species (Jurachresmoda gaskelli gen. et sp. nov.) of Chresmodidae (Insecta: Polyneoptera: Orthopterida) is described and illustrated. They were collected from the Middle Jurassic in Daohugou, Jiulongshan Formation, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol Autonomous Region), China. J. gaskelli have fringing hairs on tarsi and a part of tibiae of mid legs. These hairs and leg structures were probably associated with its water-skiing locomotion on freshwater. A high number of tarsomeres, e. g. ultra-articulated tarsi as reported in other species of Chresmodidae, are also found for this new species. But, these true tarsi are mixed with some wrinkles resulted from dehydration and compression during fossilization process. Nymphs of the new species are also described. This is the first time that long and segmented cerci of the nymph are described in Chresmodidae.

A new species of the genus Oligodon Fitzinger, 1826, Oligodon nagao sp. nov., is described on the basis of five specimensoriginating from Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces in northern Vietnam, Guangxi Autonomous Region in southernPeople’s Republic of China, and from Khammouane Province in central Laos PDR. This species differs from other speciesof the region by the combination of 15 or 17 dorsal scale rows at midbody, unforked hemipenes, not spinose but withpapillae, entire cloacal plate, a high number of ventrals, a rather short tail and dorsal pattern made of numerous dark,butterfly-shaped blotches. On the basis of the morphology of its hemipenes, Oligodon nagao sp. nov. belongs to the groupof Oligodon cinereus. This new species is compared with other species of the Indochinese Peninsula and China with 15or 17 dorsal scale rows, especially Oligodon joynsoni (Smith, 1917). An updated list of the Oligodon species of this region is provided.

A new species of Cyrtodactylus described from Nyemo County, Xizang Autonomous Region, China is here referred to a new species, Cyrtodactylus zhaoermii sp. nov. It is distinguished from all other Cyrtodactylus by the following characters: dorsal surface of the body with fine granules intermixed with larger sub-conical tubercles arranged into 20 more or less regular rows; proximal subdigital lamellae transversely expanded; 19–20 subdigital lamellae on toe IV; 30–32 midbody ventral scales; most scales in femoral region small, granular, series of 12–14 enlarged femoral scales lacking pores; a series of precloacal pores (4) present in male; tail with distinct segments, large, posteriorly directed tubercles in whorls, numbering nine to ten per caudal annulus, three on each side and three to four on the dorsum, situated at the posterior edge of each annulus; subcaudals not transversely expanded. The new species is the fourth Cyrtodactylus known from Xizang Autonomous Region.

A new species of the eyeless eleotrid genus Milyeringa is described from wells sunk on Barrow Island, Western Australia. Milyeringa justitia n. sp. is the third species of the genus to be named. Morphological data and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) DNA sequence data from a wide sample of localities at which the genus occurs was used to evaluate relationships and species limits. Milyeringa veritas is redescribed, and M. brooksi is synonymised with M. veritas. The unique form and ecology of these fishes, plus the threats to their survival, warrants immediate and continuing attention in management.

Sageretia liuzhouensis, a new species discovered in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, is described and illustrated. This species was found growing in sparse forests or thickets on the top of towering limestone hills with sunny, dry habitats. It is very similar to S. camelliifolia in morphology but differs with pubescent inflorescence rachises and charcoal-gray branches, as well as smaller leaves and shorter petioles. The delimitation of this new species is also supported by phylogenetic analyses based on five DNA loci (ITS, ETS, trnL-trnF, psbA-trnH and petA-psbJ). S. camelliifolia is within a clade separated from the new species and S. thea is more closely related to S. subcaudata and S. rugosa than the new species.

We have described and illustrated a new species, Bulbophyllum linzhiense (Malaxideae, Epidendroideae, Orchidaceae), from Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China. The size and overall floral morphology of the new species are similar to those of B. rubrolabellum, a species endemic to Taiwan island on the southeast coast of China, but is different by apart pseudobulbs, lower flowers, ovate-lanceolate bracts, longer pedicel and ovary, yellow-green flower, and lanceolate lateral sepals. A cladistic analysis based on the nuclear (ITS) and plastid (matK, trnL-F, and atpI-atpH) DNA sequences supported the new species is sister to B. rubrolabellum.

A new species, Anteon amabilis, is described from the People’s Republic of China (Zhejiang Prov., Baishanzu). Also Dryinidae were collected and studied from Xizang Zhang Autonomous Region (= Tibet) for the first time that resulted in the discovery and description of the previously unknown male of Anteon fidum Olmi. Additions to the Xu et al. (2000) key are provided so that these species can be discriminated.
