Two new species belonging to the genus Glaucocharis Meyrick, 1938 are described from southwest China: Glaucocharissperlingisp. n. and G.nussisp. n. The female of G.castaneus Song & Chen, 2002 is described for the first time. The geographical distribution of the genus in China is analysed. The precipitation of the warmest quarter is revealed to be the strongest predictor affecting the present distribution pattern of the genus. A map showing the distribution of the known Chinese localities of Glaucocharis is provided.

Recent studies have highlighted the underestimated diversity of the genus Diploderma Hallowell, 1861 in the Hengduan Mountain Region in Southwest China, but much of the region remains poorly surveyed for reptile diversity. In this study we describe two new species of Diploderma from the upper Jinsha and middle Yalong River Valley, based on evaluations of morphological, genetic, and distribution data. The two new species are morphologically most similar to D. angustelinea and D. vela, but they can be diagnosed from both recognized taxa and all remaining congeners by a suite of morphological features, particularly the distinct coloration of gular spots. Additionally, both new species either render other recognized species paraphyletic or are allopatric with respect to their morphologically similar congeners. Furthermore, we rediscover D. brevicaudum in the wild for the first time, which was known from historical museum specimens only. We estimate the phylogenetic position of D. brevicaudum within the genus Diploderma based on mitochondrial genealogy, and we provide an expanded diagnosis and comparisons against closely related congeners and provide a detailed description of coloration in life based on newly collected specimens. Our discoveries of the new Diploderma species further highlight the urgent conservation needs of the currently neglected hot-dry valley ecosystems in the Hengduan Mountain Region of China.

Twenty six species of Scaphopoda, included in 12 genera and five families were identified. Within these, Fustiaria stenoschiza (Pilsbry & Sharp, 1897), Gadila pocula n.comb. (Dall, 1889); G. simpsoni n.comb. (Henderson, 1920) and G. pandionis (Verril & Smith in Verril, 1880) are recorded for the first time for Brazil and two new species of the genus Cadulus are here described. Besides that, six species previously recorded from north and northeast Brazil have their geographical range expanded southward: Antalis circumcincta (Watson, 1879), Episiphon didymum (Watson, 1879), Ep. sowerbyi (Guilding, 1834), Entalina platamodes (Watson, 1879), Gadila dominguensis (Orbigny, 1853) and Compressidens pressum (Pilsbry & Sharp, 1897). In the other hand, Paradentalium infractum n.comb. (Odhner, 1931) has its geographical distribution extended northward to the state of Maranhão (02ºS). Gadila acus (Dall, 1889) is proposed as junior synonym of G. dominguensis (Orbigny, 1853).

The family Lonchopteridae is recorded from Guangxi for the first time. Two genera and 6 species are recognized. Two new species, Lonchoptera pinglongshanensis Dong, Pang and Yang, sp. nov. and Lonchoptera unicolor Dong, Pang and Yang, sp. nov., are described. One species, Lonchoptera pipi Andersson, is recorded from China for the first time. A key to the species of Lonchopteridae from Guangxi is presented.

The geographical distribution patterns ofChrysoteuchiaHübner in China are analysed with MaxEnt and ArcGIS based on known localities and nineteen environmental variables. The results suggest that southeastern China is a highly suitable area, and Bio11 (mean temperature of the coldest quarter), Bio12 (annual precipitation) and Bio18 (precipitation of the warmest quarter) are revealed to be the main variables affecting the present distribution patterns. Among them, Bio18 is the strongest predictor with a 24.3% contribution. Furthermore, a new species from Tibet is added to the genus,Chrysoteuchialandryisp. nov., and the male ofC.curvicavusis described for the first time. Images of adults and their genitalia are illustrated, and two maps showing the geographical distribution patterns ofChrysoteuchiain China are provided.

The Neotropical crab spider genera Tobias Simon, 1895 and Epicadus Simon, 1895 comprise species with remarkable somatic morphology and confounding taxonomic history. The results of our recent cladistic analysis corroborate and extend preceding taxonomic assumptions in showing that Tobias is a junior synonym of Epicadus. In the present paper the six species recently transferred from Tobias to Epicadus are redescribed. Two new species are described based on both males and females: Epicadus dimidiaster sp. nov. and Epicadus tigrinus sp. nov.; the male of Epicadus granulatus Banks, 1909 is described for the first time. The diagnosis of the genus is revised, an identification key is provided, and information on geographical distribution is updated. Epicadus now comprises eleven species.

Few studies have examined the diversity of freshwater planarians in the Iberian Peninsula and Greece. We have searched extensively for specimens, mainly in the Iberian Peninsula, and have gathered information on their taxonomy and biogeography. Two new species of Dendrocoelum and six new species of Phagocata are described. We also review the status of five other species and present distribution maps that summarize records of freshwater planarians in the Iberian Peninsula. The diversity of three ecological groups of freshwater planarians in this area is discussed and we show that it has a rich, stream-dwelling freshwater triclad fauna, contrary to the findings of earlier studies. But our findings support the traditional viewpoint that European lake-dwelling species are scarce in Spain. The distribution pattern of Girardia tigrina is also discussed. We conclude that the critical status of Schmidtea mediterranea in this area is partly due to habitat alteration through human interference.

This paper studies the taxonomy of the genus Xanthophius Motschulsky, 1860 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Staphylininae, Xantholinini). Two new species are described from China: Xanthophius unicidentatus sp. n. from Yunnan, Zhejiang, Guangxi and Hainan, and X. gutianshanensis sp. n. from Zhejiang. The number of species of Xanthophius therefore increased to eight. The elaborate structures of the everted endophallus of X. filum (Kraatz, 1859) is described for the first time and illustrated with a color plate. A key to eight species and their geographical distribution map are provided. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

This work includes taxonomic data on four species of oribatid mites of the family Otocepheidae from Yunnan, China. Two new species of the genera Basiceramerus and Eurostocepheus are described, respectively. Basiceramerus ovatussp. nov. differs from B. bangladeshensis Corpuz-Raros & Gruèzo, 2008 by the wavy marginalis passing the base of the adanal setae, prodorsal condyles well separated from median ones, a ventral ridge present, and the anal plate foveolate; it differs from B. igorotus Corpuz-Raros & Gruèzo, 2011 from Vietnam by the wavy marginalis passing the base of the adanal setae, a connected tutorium and lamelliform expansion, a ventral ridge present, a smooth genital plate, and seta an2 located close to the median margin of the anal opening; it differs from B. igorotus from the Philippines by the lamellar setae inserted behind the tip of the lamella, separated prodorsal condyles, lyrifissure im posterior to gla, genital plate smooth, anal plate foveolate, and the wavy marginalis passing the base of the adanal setae. Eurostocepheus (Eurostocepheus) sinutussp. nov. differs from other known species of this genus by having a ventral groove between the genital aperture and the ventral ridge, eight pairs of notogastral setae, and distinctly shorter and thinner notogastral setae p1, p2, p3, h3. Eurostocepheus (Eurostocepheus) aquilinus Aoki, 1965 and E. (E.) mahunkai Mondal & Kundu, 1999 are reported for the first time from China.

Two new species of Beraba from Colombia (Bolívar) are described: Berabaanaesp. n. and Berabaangelisp. n. The most recent key to species of the genus was modified to incorporate the new species. The male of Berabalimpida Martins, 1997 is described and illustrated for the first time. Moreover, the geographical distribution of 12 species of Eburiini is expanded.

The genus Millotellina is recorded from China for the first time. Two new species, Millotellina centralis sp. n. and Millotellina bambusinus sp. n., from Guangxi Province of Southwest China are described and illustrated. Millotellina centralis sp. n. is characterized by the presence of single median ventral processes posterior to the coxal sacs of legs 4–10, half-way between successive pairs of legs and located in the center, and a thick frontal seta on the first leg. Millotellina bambusinus sp. n. is characterized by the single median ventral processes inserted between the coxal sacs of legs 5–10, palp of the first maxilla with three pointed branches, and cerci narrowed abruptly in the distal part. An updated key to the species of the genus is also provided.
