This chapter presents the overview of customer relationship management (CRM), CRM and customer retention, CRM and customer engagement, CRM and technological utilization, and the importance of CRM in modern business. With the support of advanced technologies, CRM is the advanced approach that can enhance companies to achieve the positive relationships with customers, and can increase both customer retention and customer engagement in their products and services. The application of CRM can promote the capability of interacting with customers conformed to their customer requirements, and can help increase both sales and business growth in the competitive business environments. The chapter argues that utilizing CRM has the potential to enhance business performance and gain sustainable competitive advantage in the digital age.

CRM is a significant strategy to learn more about customers' needs and behaviors in order to develop the stronger relationships with them. CRM is the most efficient approach in maintaining and creating the relationships with customers in modern business. CRM helps business gain the insight into the behavior of their customers and modify their business operations to ensure that customers are served in the best possible way. CRM also helps business recognize the value of its customers and to capitalize on the improved customer relations. The article argues that facilitating CRM has the potential to enhance organizational performance and gain sustainable competitive advantage in modern business.

This chapter reveals the role of customer relationship management (CRM) in the global business environments, thus describing the theoretical and practical concept of CRM; the components of CRM in terms of key customer focus (KCF), CRM organization, knowledge management (KM), and technology-based CRM; the significance of CRM in global business; the significance of organizational characteristics in CRM; and the implementation of CRM in global business. The achievement of CRM is vital for modern organizations that seek to serve suppliers and customers, increase business performance, strengthen competitiveness, and acquire routine success in global business. Financial technology (Fintech) mengalami pertumbuhan yang cukup pesat sejak awal kehadirannya di Indonesia. Fintech merupakan industri jasa finansial yang memanfaatkan teknologi sehingga memungkinkan penggunanya melakukan berbagai transaksi keuangan secara digital. Saat ini banyak fintech baru yang bermunculan di Indonesia, sehingga dibutuhkan strategi yg tepat untuk bisa bersaing dgn kompetitor. Analisis interaksi pengguna media sosial, biasa disebut dengan Electronic Word of Mouth (EWOM) dapat memberikan informasi yang dapat mendukung berbagai keputusan bisnis, salah satunya adalah terkait customer engagement. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi customer engagement yang terbentuk dari hasil implementasi Social Customer Relationship Management (SCRM) yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder yang merupakan data tweets berisi interaksi pengguna twitter mengenai 3 fintech di Indonesia yaitu GoPay, OVO, dan LinkAja. Analisis data dilakukan peneliti mengunakan metode social network analysis dengan menghitung properti jaringan dari ketiga objek penelitian. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa LinkAja mebentuk customer engagement lebih optimal lewat implementasi SCRM yang dilakukan perusahaan.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to establish the need of creating sustainable competitive advantage in banking through technology, customer relationship management and internal marketing.Methodology: The research was carried out through an explanatory research. The target population of the study was 3,193 employees of the Co-op Bank. A sample of 68 employees spread across the bank was selected. The researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics in this study.  The study used primary data. The study used a questionnaire as the preferred data collection tool. This study used the quantitative method of data analysis which included inferential and descriptive statistics. Descriptive statistics included frequencies and measures of tendency mainly means and frequencies. Inferential statistics included correlation analysis. The tool for data analysis was Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 17 program. The results were presented using tables and pie charts to give a clear picture of the research findings.Results: The findings indicated that information technology has significant positive effect on competitive advantage. The findings also showed that customer relationship management (CRM) has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage of banks. The findings further implied that internal marketing has a significant effect on competitive advantage. Further the findings implied that information technology has significant positive effect on competitive advantage.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Following study results, it was recommended that investment in Information technology be emphasized in the banks as it has an effect on the overall achievement of competitive advantage. The study also recommended that banks should emphasize customer relationship by investing in a customer relationship management system. It was further recommended that employees are central to an effective CRM and as such firms must manage its relationships with their employees if they have any hope of fully serving customer needs and that this is especially important in firms where employees are the eyes of customers.

Taking a case study of tourism as hospitality industry in Lampung Province in Indonesia, we analyze the antecedent of customer satisfaction and its impact on customer retention. Using Structural Equation Model (SEM), we find that customer relationship management has a significant impact on service quality, customer satisfaction and customer retention.
