No time in history has it been more challenging, and perhaps more important, for people to be able to intelligently process the vast amounts of information available. In response, there has been a resurgence on the emphasis of educating students in the public schools not only to be literate in the sense of decoding words and phrases but also to be able to evaluate the validity, the worth, and the credibility of a text which is the basis of critical literacy instruction. Critical analysis of texts requires that the reader possess a complex set of skills, and with that consideration in mind, readers' responses during their transactions with a text can help guide teachers to facilitate a natural process for students to evaluate the worth and credibility of information.

Madrasah in Indonesia have exciting development because of its integration with modernity and political support of the state that aligned with the public schools. However, it is recognized that the model of madrasah education in the country's legislation, led to dualism education system in Indonesia, which has not been resolved until now. The problem is a challenge in realizing the ideal madrasah. Through a historical-philosophical approach, this study examines the redefinition of the Islamization of knowledge by tracing historically the initial idea of Islamization of knowledge in responding to the challenges facing the madrasah. Through critical analysis examines the implications of the redefinition of the Islamization of knowledge and development models at the
madrasah. There are at least three models of Islamization of knowledge that can be developed in the development and empowerment of the madrasah, the purification of the model, the model of modernization, and the model of Islamic neo-modernism.

The clinical dimensions of the supervisory process have at times been neglected. In this article, we explain the various stages of Goldhammer's clinical supervision model and then describe specific procedures for supervisors in the public schools to use with student teachers. This easily applied methodology lends clarity to the task and helps the student assimilate concrete data which may have previously been relegated to subjective impressions of the supervisor.

Speech sound disorders are a complex and often persistent disorder in young children. For many children, therapy results in successful remediation of the errored productions as well as age-appropriate literacy and academic progress. However, for some children, while they may attain age-appropriate speech production skills, they later have academic difficulties. For SLPs in the public schools, these children present as challenging in terms of both continuing treatment as well as in terms of caseload management. What happens after dismissal? Have these children truly acquired adequate speech production skills? Do they have lingering language, literacy, and cognitive deficits? The purpose of this article is to describe the language, literacy, and cognitive features of a small group of children with remediated speech sound disorders compared to their typically developing peers.
