The concept of identity development itself is complex and difficult to define. Identity can be perceived as both an explicit (known to others) and implicit (known to the self) perception. The notion of identity development is multifaceted and is necessarily transmutable according to the interactive socio-contextual plane. Accordingly, the purpose of this chapter is to suggest two models that can be used in tandem to explain how faculty negotiated identity transformation from face-to-face to virtual learning environments (VLE) through digital agentic transformations within the framework of a digital learning fellowship initiative. Using the Johari Window of Personal Identity in tandem with Hall, Loucks, and Rutherford's Levels of Use filtered through a sociocultural theoretic lens, it is suggested that faculty perception of the virtual and non-virtual self can experience significant and sustained pedagogic agentic change according to the type of sociocultural interactions situated within and external to a VLE.

In 2016, the Office of the Provost at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University initiated a highly competitive faculty digital learning initiative (DLI) to promote student-centered learning by retooling existing courses to reflect current and emerging technology trends. For this chapter, the experiences of four fellows were considered within the TPACK framework level of use (LoU) structure in addition to considerations of how the face-to-face to digital transformation were perceived by fellows in terms of what they knew about their pedagogic methods prior to, during, and subsequent to completion of the fellowship. Additionally, descriptions of how each fellow retooled the curriculum and construct of her/his course to reflect better the needs of the 21st century learner will be cross-analyzed through event-flow networks against her/his re-envisioned personal teaching philosophy to establish if pedagogic transformation actually occurred across the digital plane.

BackgroundOnline triage software is a new way to triage patients online that allows patients to describe their problem via an online form. A GP then contacts the patient to arrange either a face-to-face or telephone consultation.AimThis study aimed to explore use of online consultation software and gain insight into patients’ experiences of using online consultations, identifying potential barriers and facilitators to use.MethodThis is a mixed methods retrospective study analysing data about patient users and their associated feedback. Data from a sample of 5591 patients were quantitatively analysed to describe characteristics of users. 576 out of the 5591 users left free-text feedback comments on their experience of use. These were thematically analysed.ResultsThe highest levels of use were observed in 25–35-year olds and lowest from those aged >65. Key themes identified included convenience, consultation quality, appropriateness, resource-use and functionality. Within each, a range of subthemes were present representing both positive and negative perceptions, suggesting that experiences of using online triage varied and were often context-dependentConclusionThere are various advantages to online triage software, but these are context-dependent. Therefore, such applications should be offered as an additional way to contact the GP surgery, rather than a replacement for more established methods, to ensure appropriate and equal access for patients.

Many young people now access digital networks that include individuals very unlike them who promote different cultural, religious and ethical value systems and behaviour. Such value systems can create conflicts of expectation for young people seeking to resolve their relationship to a national citizenship in a pluralistic society, especially if they are experiencing adolescent uncertainties or a growing awareness of social inequalities. The emergence of trans-national political structures and their differing value systems, together with the rise of international tensions, have increased uncertainty about the nature of identity and entitlement to a national citizenship. This paper describes the ongoing Citizens project study of identity development in young people, using real-world scenarios to discover the values that underpin their engagement with this wider range of religious and cultural value systems and to explore personal identity, political issues and citizenship.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, universities worldwide were forced to close their campuses and move instructional delivery to a digital mode. Many argued that this massive emergency digitalisation of instructional delivery was a major move of higher education toward online learning. However, this view overlooks considerations of pedagogy and of online learning design and delivery. Online learning is not just about uploading content to an online space or about moving all lectures online, and there is a whole theory behind designing online learning environments and delivering online learning. This chapter will discuss key theoretical considerations behind online learning design and delivery in relation to the digitalisation of higher education during COVID-19 with a view to make recommendations that will help universities design fulfilling and effective online learning and teaching experiences for their students and faculty.

With the widespread use of instructional technology in the classroom environment, learning materials are designed according to the interests and needs of learners at different levels. These materials offer flexibility to learners and teachers about time and space. In the information age we live in, many digital materials are used to make learning more effective and permanent. When it comes to digital material, digital texts, videos, presentations, simulations, and animations come to mind. Videos that appeal to both visual and auditory senses appear as important teaching materials. Educational videos, one of the important digital learning resources, are also used in both traditional teaching and contemporary learning approaches. Many studies have shown that educational videos are a very important learning tool in face-to-face and online learning environments. In this context, the aim of this chapter is to talk about the design of educational videos that can be used in online courses in accordance with the principles of multimedia.

The paper focuses on design of the internet of things storage mailbox system. The system uses RFID technology and compatible one-dimensional barcode to shield the personal information of the sender and the recipient. It manages the authentication of the user, the parcel, the courier and the storage mailbox remotely. And sending and receiving the parcel is not face-to-face handover. The system monitors the process of sending and receiving so as to ensure that the parcel will be sent to the recipient accurately and efficiently. The use of the system will avoid malicious parcel and waste parcel appearing.

Kondisi pandemi, yang sedang melanda dunia termasuk Indonesia saat ini, mengakibatkan interaksi tatap muka di kelas antara guru dan peserta didik tidak mungkin untuk dilakukan. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran digital menjadi alternatif yang penting untuk mengganti tatap muka di kelas. Namun dalam realitas sesungguhnya, banyak persoalan ketidaksiapan yang ditemukan untuk melaksanakan pembelajaran digital baik terkait dengan sarana prasarana maupun peserta didik. Salah satu cara yang paling memungkinkan untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah melalui adaptasi pembelajaran secara blended learning dalam menghadapi masa new normal terutama dalam pembelajaran sosiologi. Tujuan pokok penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adaptasi pembelajaran sosiologi secara blended learning dan kebijakan pendidikan Indonesia dalam mencegah Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kajian literatur kepustakaan di mana peneliti menganalisis berbagai penelitian yang relevan dengan adaptasi pembelajaran sosiologi. Penyajian data dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif yaitu menggambarkan adaptasi pembelajaran secara blended learning yang terjadi dalam menghadapi masa new normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adaptasi pembelajaran sosiologi secara blended learning dalam menghadapi masa new normal dilakukan dengan 3 mode (1) Dalam jaringan (daring) sosiologi, (2) Luar jaringan (luring) sosiologi dan (3) tatap muka, di daerah zona hijau berbasis protokol kesehatan.The pandemic condition, which is currently sweeping the world including Indonesia, makes face-to-face interactions in class between teachers and students impossible to do. Therefore, digital learning is an important alternative to replace face-to-face classrooms. But in reality, many unpreparedness issues are found to carry out digital learning both related to infrastructure and students. One of the most possible ways to overcome this is through the adaptation of blended learning in the face of the new normal, especially in sociology learning. The main objective of this study is to determine the adaptation of sociology learning by blended learning and Indonesian education policies in preventing Covid-19. The method used in this study is a literature review where the researcher analyzed various studies relevant to the adaptation of sociological learning. The presentation of the data is carried out using descriptive techniques, which describe the adaptation of blended learning that occures in the face of the new normal period. The results show that the adaptation of sociology learning by means of blended learning in the face of the new normal period was carried out in three modes (1) online sociology networks, (2) offline sociology and (3) face-to-face, in green zone based area obeying the health protocol.
