To substantiate the range of products of the enterprise there is a need to assess the potential of products in terms of the company’s ability to manufacture these products, consumer opportunities to meet their needs for these products, and market opportunities to ensure a strategic position among similar products. The study used structural-logical and causal methods of analysis to determine the structure of the novelty of goods. The numerical method of multi-criteria decision making TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) was used to rank the product range of new products according to the level of importance of novelty. Weights of individual components to assess the importance level of novelty in the enterprise were determined by the method of analysis of hierarchies of T.L. Saati. The study used the classification of novelty by its functional focus, according to which consumer, market, and manufacturing novelty of goods are distinguished. The importance of novelty for the manufacturer is the conformity of the product to its innovative development strategy, determination of its place in the market, and prospects for further activities. The importance of the novelty of a new product for the company is proposed to be defined as a measure of the importance of the novelty level of the product for the development of the optimal product range in the product innovative policy of the enterprise. To assess the level of significance of the novelty of goods, criteria of novelty by its types were proposed. According to the results of the study it was found that industrial novelty characterizes the level of use of new technologies in the enterprise, market – the position of a new product on the market among analogues, and consumer – the level and way to meet consumer needs. Further research should relate to the development of appropriate guidelines for the formation of product range and its management based on the assessment of the level of significance of novelty

The trend to a hotter and drier climate, with more extended droughts, has been observed in recent decades in southern Australia and is projected to continue under climate change. This paper reviews studies on the projected impacts of climate change on groundwater and associated environmental assets in southern Australia, and describes groundwater planning frameworks and management responses. High-risk areas are spatially patchy due to highly saline groundwater or low-transmissivity aquifers. The proportional reduction in rainfall is amplified in the groundwater recharge and some groundwater discharge fluxes. This leads to issues of deteriorating groundwater-dependent ecosystems, streamflow depletion, reduced submarine discharge, groundwater inundation and intrusion in coastal regions and reduced groundwater supply for extraction. Recent water reforms in Australia support the mitigation of these impacts, but groundwater adaptation is still at its infancy. Risk management is being incorporated in regional water and groundwater management plans to support a shift to a more sustainable level of use and more climate-resilient water resources in affected areas. The emerging strategies of groundwater trade and managed aquifer recharge are described, as is the need for a national water-focused climate change planning process.

The desire to admire has varied with the introduction of social media networks into our lives. This diversity is among the subjects worth researching, especially among women who do sports. The study aims to examine the desire to be liked and the level of use of social media networks in terms of various variables. For this purpose, the "personal information form" developed by the researchers and the "desire to like" scale developed by Kaşıkara and Doğan (2017) were applied to 120 women with an average age of 30.65. The Chi-square test was applied for the statistical solutions of the study. As a result of the analysis, a difference was found between demographic characteristics, but no similarity was found in terms of scale scores.

The sharing economy represents a phenomenon which is increasing in importance as time goes by, even from the point of view of less developed countries. The aim of the study is to evaluate the knowledge of traditional and developing segments of the sharing economy and their platforms and to analyse and evaluate the level of their use employing the example of customers (the younger and the older generation) in one of the post-communist countries – the Czech Republic. Data was collected on the basis of a questionnaire survey (N=614). This was processed using descriptive statistics tools. The study shows that respondents are the most familiar with forms of sharing not only from traditional segments (passenger transportation and accommodation) but also from the financial segment. The best-known platforms include Uber, Airbnb and Zonky. Platforms from traditional segments are used the most. The younger generation has better awareness, both about possible forms of sharing and also about the existing platforms. However, the study did not prove any differences in the level of use of platforms between the younger and older generation.

Cabbage waste has the potential to be used as an alternative feed for livestock if the feed is processed sustainably. This study aims to analyze the determine the best level of use of rice bran in making cabbage waste silage seen from physical properties, pH and dry matter content of silage. This study used a completely randomized design  with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were A0 (cabbage waste 100%), A1 (cabbage waste 75% + rice bran 25%), A2 (cabbage waste 50% + rice bran 50%), A3 (cabbage waste 25% + rice bran 75%). The parameters measured include pH, odor, color, texture, presence of mushrooms and dry matter content. The results showed that the substitution of various levels of rice bran on cabbage waste had no significant effect (P 0.05) on the pH, color, texture and presence of mushrooms, had a significant effect (P 0.05) increased the aroma value, and had a very significant effect ( P 0.01) increased the dry matter content of the silage. The best treatment in this study is A3 (cabbage waste 25%, rice bran 75%) because it can increase the odor and dry matter content.

The development of the economy is related not only to its benefits, but also its negative aspects. One of the negative impacts is the impact on the environment and society. Many types of industry and, in a narrower sense, of enterprises, adversely affect their surroundings. It is one of the many factors that has contributed to the growing popularity of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). It is important to balance business and industry with the environment and community impacts. This study presents selected aspects of corporate social responsibility, such as society, the environment, and corporate governance in relation to the industry responsible for energy production and distribution. This group includes the energy sector (mining oil, gas, consumer fuels, and energy equipment and services), the materials sector (metallurgy and mining), as well as distribution (gas, electricity supply, independent energy producers, and renewable energy). The aim of the article was to present the level of implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility in enterprises responsible for the production and supply of energy. The article uses the analysis of the literature and the statistical analysis showing the level of use of the described concept in the analysed entities. It was based on an analysis of 1904 companies from 41 countries around the world. The article presents the level of implementation of the concept of corporate social responsibility in selected sectors, divided into three areas: social, environmental, and corporate governance. In each of them, the analysis was performed with regard to the selected, most important factors. In addition, an analysis of the described industry, in relation to the others, is presented, which shows the level of use of individual CSR aspects. Thus, it shows which criteria are followed by enterprises in their activities and indicates the real areas of CSR impact on companies.

Purpose: This paper sought to examine the effect of verification of core assumptions on the competitive advantage among commercial banks in Kenya. Methodology: The target population for the study were directors or managers in-charge of planning or strategy in each of the forty banks in the country. Primary data was collected using a semi structured questionnaire. The questionnaire was tested for both validity and reliability and was found to meet the required threshold. . Data was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Analysis was done with the assistance of SPSS computer packages. Findings: A response rate of 77.5% was achieved in the study and this was adequate for analysis. The study found that verification of core assumptions has a β =0.472 and a p-value of 0.000 which indicates that it has a significant effect on the ability of banks to sustain competitive advantage. The study therefore concluded that verification of core assumptions must be carried out continuously to track their validity on which the company’s strategies are grounded upon. Unique Contributions to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study therefore recommends that banks should raise the level of use of competitive intelligence in monitoring the competitive landscape to enable early verification of core assumptions. The study further recommends that banks should continuously monitor the various core assumptions that were considered during strategy formulation to verify their validity to enable the bank rapidly change the strategy, should the core assumption on which it was grounded on be found to be no longer valid.
