The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of group guidance services through zoom meetings with the Johari Window technique to increase student self-acceptance. Current research used experimental method with one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with total of 8 sample. The data collection method is self-acceptance scale with 4 indicators and 52 items. The validity of the instrument verified using the product moment formula obtained r table value = 0.312. While the reliability of the instrument verified with the Cronbach alpha formula, the results of the Cronbach Alpha were 0.774. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis and Wilcoxon test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the level of student self-acceptance before being given treatment was in the medium category. Meanwhile, before being given treatment, they were in the high category. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, it is known that Asymp. Signature. (2-tailed) worth 0.012. Because 0.012 is smaller than 0.05, it can be said that group guidance services through meetings with the johari technique have a significant effect on increasing student self-acceptance.

The tremendously disruptive global pandemic of COVID-19 has had a destabilizing effect on individuals and groups as it triggered a profound uncertainty about the ability of nations, organizations, and individuals to survive. Under such conditions, decision-making was affected in a number of ways which has a profound implication for leaders and policymakers. This paper presents new theoretical lenses that incorporate literary and cultural narratives to consider the various potential classifications of COVID-19 as a “Black Swan” or “Dragon King” event, and how the disruption has precipitated psychological distress. Further, the paper discusses the notion that Dragon King extreme events may be precursors to catastrophic transition. In this analysis, we look at concepts such as R. D. Laing’s The Divided Self, and the psychological concept of ontological insecurity.  While the concept is a psychological one, it has been applied to the analysis of literature, with very illuminating results.  Likewise, the concept could be applied to the factors going into thinking about reality, one’s relationships with others, and then, decision-making. When combined with techniques to develop self-awareness, such as the Johari window, even more insight is achievable. The overall purpose of the paper is to analyze the relatively hidden or unacknowledged literary narratives that constitute driving mechanisms in decision-making in psychological and ontologically destabilizing Black Swan and Dragon King events.

This study explored principals’ reactions to findings from a survey regarding their teachers’ evaluation beliefs. As participants in a longitudinal study, these principals were invited to focus group meetings to discuss the teacher survey data, which were sent to them for review prior to the meetings. They were asked to consider data that were puzzling, surprising, inconsistent, or consistent with their perceptions of conducting teacher evaluation. The focus group data were analyzed using the Johari Window, consisting of four domains of awareness. Based on the Johari Window analysis, principals shared teachers’ awareness of a checklist approach to observations but maintained different beliefs about a checklist's intentions and efficiencies. Principals were unaware of or disagreed with the following teacher beliefs: (a) principal feedback is marginally effective for teachers’ instructional improvement, (b) the evaluation ratings are applied unfairly, and (c) too much of principals’ time is allotted to the evaluation process. This study illustrates that principals and teachers have contradictory beliefs regarding the practice and value of teacher evaluation. The researchers suggest that principals should consider applying the Johari Window construct to reveal and explore teacher perceptions that could hinder an effective supervision and evaluation process.

Abstract Introduction A recent publication in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal (Rohrich et al., 2020) has attracted controversy for its generalised approach to “millennial” plastic surgeons. We suggest that surgeons in training, trainers and colleagues need to adjust their focus from the group to the individual in order to maximise clinical performance, quality of working life and quality of care delivered to patients. Method We outline a simple model, adapted from the Johari window tool, with the aim of delivering a job and training plan with which all parties are content. It considers individual ability to process scenarios and perform tasks (bandwidth), and the resources available to the individual trainee, to assess each aspect of the role. Results No two clinicians have the same strengths and weaknesses, and no two posts are identical. The Johari-like matrix allows trainers and trainees to identify which activities are firmly within the bandwidth and resources of the trainee, those which are clearly not, and those which may cause some concern and require further discussion or modification. Conclusions In this model, we suggest a framework which may help surgeons in training and trainers alike and provide a means of recording this longitudinally as individuals or roles evolve.
