This chapter discusses the mobile network as a new medium for marketing communications. It illustrates that the mobile medium, defined as two-way communications via mobile handsets, can be utilized in a company’s promotion mix by initiating and maintaining relationships. First, by using the mobile medium companies can attract new customers by organizing SMS (short message service) -based competitions and lotteries. Second, the mobile medium can be used as a relationship building tool as companies can send information and discount coupons to existing customers’ mobile devices or collect marketing research data. The authors explore these scenarios by presenting and analyzing a mobile marketing case from Finland. The chapter concludes by pondering different future avenues for the mobile medium in promotion mix.

The research illustrates a view on the current trends in the telecommunication industry focusing on the matter of Short Message Service (SMS) technology. It targets and explains disruptive technology and also introduces disruptive technology in Short Message Service (SMS). The methodology of this research is market trend analysis using data on volume of Short Message Service (SMS) sent and received through a mobile network and a survey that was conducted with questionnaires. The findings are Short Message Service (SMS) is predicted to become obsolete and be disrupted by Over the Top (OTT) messaging application by the third quarter of the year 2020. This was implemented with linear regression prediction. By the survey a new trend of using Short Message Service (SMS) has emerged but users have certainly moved away from SMS and now prefer texting Over the Top (OTT) messaging applications.

Abstract - At the moment, people who use electricity as their daily necessities still use the methods that have been in the past, namely by purchasing an electric voucher that has been available several digits of code entered into the prepaid kWh meter via the keypad. This method is considered to be less effective and less efficient in a period that has experienced a lot of progress, especially in the field of technology. Especially when the electric pulse has reached the minimum limit of the prepaid kWh meter, it only gives a warning to the sound of the buzzer alarm, it can only be heard by the customer if he is inside the house. so that the customer cannot find out if the customer is out of the house. Automatically the kWh meter customer is not prepared to deal with it if the user is not at home. So from that the research that will be made is a prototype prepaid kWh meter based on Short Message Service (SMS). In addition to being able to control the remaining electricity pulses remotely, this tool will also be able to charge electric pulses without having to enter the voucher code into the kWh meter directly but with this tool the customer can fill in by sending a short message or SMS set by the customer. The system contained in this Short Message Service (SMS) prepaid kWh meter prototype is controlled by 16 ATM AVR Microcontrollers. When the prepaid kWh meter value shows a value of 5 kWh, the system automatically provides information on the remaining kWh meter electricity through short message or SMS and marked with the buzzer sound and LED indicator. That will be made is considered to be more effective and flexible. From the results of the research data that have been collected, it can be seen that the performance of SMS-based prepaid kWh meters with the overall test results is successful and the percentage of success almost reaches 100%. Keyword:’ Prepaid kWh Meter, Short Message Service (SMS), Buzzer, Microcontroller ATMega16.’

Along with the increasing capabilities of mobile devices, the need for pulses is also growing rapidly. Currently resellers only utilize the technology SMS (Short Message Service) in conventional to conduct transactions. To assist in the more efficient pulse delivery process, it was built using the XMPP protocol. In this study using Extreme Programming design method with 4 (four) stages of process planning, design process, coding process and testing process. The results of testing conducted by using black box testing as well as questionnaires from the resellers, applications that help in the transaction pulse, and improve the efficiency of time in the process of pulse delivery.

Mobile devices usage has become a part of daily life modern humans today. And one of mobile devices that is almost owned by mobile devices users is mobile phone, including a smartphones. As an electronic devices that can store data, even various kinds of data types, that information stored from data on mobile phone can reflect the user’s activity. So the information can be described as a chronologically if needed. In this study, there are case studies about findings and handlings of digital evidence form of Short Message Services (SMS) that obtained on unallocated data in an android smartphone. By practically testing the procedures, the results show that steps and stages used for handling mobile devices evidence could be run dynamically, in the sense that, there are several procedural steps can be run as simultaneously, but the activity stages could be run regularly too. So the artefacts  has a forensically sound elements and can be proven as a scientific with the clear stages.

This paper enhances fire rescue system for reducing the number of victims in case of fire accidents. This system has been developed and implemented using the smart sensors and LabVIEW technology. It will automatically identify the fire accident and inform it to the rescue team (loco pilot for trains, security in buildings) through voice signal transmission. Servo motors are connected to water sprinklers to control fire. As an initial step, fire will be suppressed and intimation about the accident will be sent through short message service to the local fire stations, ambulance. This short message service consists of the status of fire accident accurately by transmitting the physical parameters. This also display the particular area code based upon that global system for mobile network. The complete details about the location (buildings, trains) could be intimated. With simple camera the number of members entered into the room can be known. So that directly saves the people instead of searching every room. As a whole this system ensures that it will reduce the human death ratio due to accidents.
