As long as businesses only have one enterprise application or back end application system there is no need to share data with any other system in the company. All data that has to be managed is contained within one back end application system and its database. However, as businesses grow, more back end application systems find their way into their information technology infrastructure managing different specialized business data, mainly introduced due to the growth. These back end application systems are not independent of each other; in general they contain similar or overlapping business data or are part of business processes. Keeping the data in the various application systems consistent with each other requires their integration so that data can be exchanged or synchronized. The technology that supports the integration of various application systems and their databases is called Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) technology. EAI technology is able to connect to back end application systems in order to retrieve and to insert data. Once connected, EAI technology supports the definition of how extracted data is propagated to back end application systems solving the general integration problem.

If we try to increase the level of automation in enterprise application integration (EAI) scenarios, we confront challenges related to the resolution of data and message heterogeneities between interoperating services, which traditional EAI technologies are weak to solve. We propose a semantically-enriched approach for dynamic data mediation in EAI scenarios, focusing on the resolution of message level heterogeneities between collaborative enterprise services, facilitating automated data mediation during execution time by providing formal transformations of the output and input messages (of the participating services) to a common reference business data model, that is, the enterprise interoperability ontology. Moreover, we present a tool that has been developed to support the user to provide business data-related semantic annotations and XSLT transformations of the input and output message parts of collaborative enterprise services. Finally, we demonstrate the utilization of the proposed approach and toll in a real-world EAI scenario.

Integrating enterprise system has become an issue of sharing information rather than transforming information due to the increasing complexity and the heterogeneity of the applications. The transition from application centric to integration centric enterprise application integration (EAI) requires methods and technologies that will enable and facilitate the definition of shared information. The use of ontologies Semantic Web and technologies can improve the existing EAI methods by providing a framework capable to define shared information. Ontologies based Enterprise application integration (ONAR) framework utilizes Semantic Web technologies to define shared information among heterogeneous systems. The present paper presents the utilization of ontologies for the formation of ONAR framework and its application for service oriented application integration (SOAI)

This paper mainly discusses the integration of the enterprises application system based on the Web Services technology. The Web Services technology can realize the system application integration in the enterprise internal system and the different enterprise application systems,it is universal, platform independent, and language independent. set. This makes Web Services to become a new generation integration technology of the enterprise application integration in the Internet environment .

This paper described two kinds types of enterprise application integration based on coordinated decision centra:within the enterprise application and inter-enterprise enterprises application integration. To implement these two kinds of application system integration, the framework and the main functions of the integration platform for e-commerce environment was presented in the paper, the integration techniques by CORBA encapsulating within the enterprise and the data exchange techniques using XML between enterprises were proposed. With this supply chain application integration platform, the main business processes for supply chain management and other enterprise applications can be integrated selflessly through suitable procedures to apply supply chain integrative management in multiple enterprises.

In the last few years, there is a significant growth in enterprise computing. In a typical large enterprise, more than thousands major application systems are logically interconnected to support enterprise’s business process. With the Internet technology grows explosively, most enterprise organizations adopt e-business strategy. Enterprises sometimes have to merge with other enterprise, reorganize their internal structure, and adopt new technologies and platform as they strive for competitive advantages. Enterprise application integration(EAI) provides enterprise with the option to leverage their existing systems and integrate them with new application to enhance functionality. Connector, which is a software component, is an essential layer in the EAI architecture. It provides connectivity between application and integration server.
