Improving the performance of e-learning services to provide a scalable and effective e-learning system is a big challenge for the educational organizations. The e-learning system faces many challenges in pedagogical services (e.g. learning design and learning content problems), and technical services (e.g. resource provisioning and financial cost). This article presents an e-learning environment based on cloud computing (PCLE) in attempt to enhance the e-learning services' by customizing the contents of the course's material depending on the students' knowledge, experiences, and requirements. Also, the system focuses on supporting and achieving reusability, interoperability, adaptation and personalization in order to overcome the passive role of the student and transfer it into an interactive and useful participation. On the other hand, PCLE is built over the cloud computing environment trying to overcome the traditional web-hosting challenges as scalability, availability, and cost.

The Chinese government is pursuing e-learning policies which makes job-training with a knowledge-based society. To explain more fully the important role of the e-learning environment, this article undertakes some typical examples of the governments' job-training under e-learning environment. The main problems in servants' job-training in China are the low quantity in the servants' training, short of restriction, the uniform manner in the training and less fairness and availability of opportunities for educational training. In order to develop the e-learning system, the civil servant's job training policies are provided and the measures of the effective e-learning system are designed.

Access to education is one of the main human rights. Everyone should have access to education and be capable of benefiting from it. However there are a number who are excluded, not because of a lack of ability but simply because they have a disability or specific need which current education systems do not address. A learning system in which content, tools and interfaces can be personalised and adapted to the individual needs and preferences of a variety of learners, including those with disabilities, becomes inclusive. Assessment is an integral part of an e-learning environment and therefore it has to provide not only inclusive e-learning content but also inclusive e-assessment. The proposed research investigates an intelligent adaptable e-learning system for assessing students' level of skill, knowledge and understanding regardless of their disabilities or accessibility needs. It is based on an innovative use of world's first open source adaptable widget design and authoring toolkit (WIDGaT) as the prototyping environment.

The objective of this chapter is to study the effect of the color of e-learning platforms as an atmospheric variable of the interface on the learning process. It focuses on two important variables: memorization and trust. First, it aims to explore the effect of color on the memorization of the educational content available in an e-learning platform. It investigates if the colored appearance of an e-learning system reinforces readability, suitability, and above all the memorizing process leading to learning. Second, it investigates the effect of color on trust in an e-learning platform and in the e-learning content. The chapter offers an examination of the role of the interface and the color in e-learning and memorization and presents trust in e-learning based on an exploratory qualitative study on how trust is developed in a website, as a result of the colors of the online interface. A case of an e-learning platform has been investigated to understand how the colors of the interface can enhance student memorization of the content as well as trust.

This study continues the authors’ previous search for key factors to determine the stickiness of different kinds of knowledge. In the authors’ opinion, identifying the stickiness of every type of knowledge in the e-course it is possible to create the optimal distribution of the intensity of time and study materials, paying more attention to the more complex knowledge, while promoting the acquisition of the free flow of knowledge with some tasks aimed at collaboration between students. Also, our previous study showed that individual motivation plays an important role in students’ success. That is why the scope of this study embraces the link of students' personal characteristics with their behavior and achievements in a learning environment. In this study, we are looking for key features for the future development of a more advanced learning system. Our scope of this study embraces the aspects of student’s initial motivation – how to ascertain, define and then use it for the development of the further learning content. Students were divided into three groups, according to their plans for engagement in business projects. The study was conducted in the course, that’s organized according to the blended learning delivery approach. Part of this course takes place in a classroom, while the other part is embedded in an electronic environment on an Open edX platform-based E-Learning environment.

AbstractEnvisioning learning sans interaction is absurd. Interaction plays a pivotal role in the efficacy and effectiveness of the present-day blended learning systems. Learner-content interaction contributes predominately towards the successful realization of the expected learning outcomes. In order to satisfy the learners and to impart them quality knowledge and education, e-learning content comprising of excellent learning and website content is of paramount importance. In the present COVID-19 outbreak challenging times the significance of e-learning system development and its application is much more pronounced. To gauge this, the study aims to examine the relationship between learner-content and the e-learning quality to determine the impact of e-learning quality on learners’ satisfaction under the moderating effect of perceived harm due to COVID-19. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from 435 graduate and undergraduate management students (International and national) in Indian Universities. Findings indicate statistically significant relationships between the e-learning content and e-learning quality and; e-learning quality and the students’ satisfaction. The perceived harm has an insignificant moderating effect on students’ satisfaction. The results of the study further depict that the quality of e-learning has a significant positive relationship with the students’ satisfaction, and this relationship is not affected by the threat of being infected on the campus during the pandemic of COVID-19. To achieve the learners’ satisfaction, the institutions should strive for rendering the e-learning content of supreme quality. The mediating role of e-learning quality between content and students’ satisfaction is also established to be a significant one.

Multimedia-based e-learning systems have become increasingly available. Many of them, however, do not provide sufficient interactivity to learners. E-learners have little control over learning content and process to meet their individual needs. Therefore, the challenges include how to integrate instructional material in different media, and how to provide flexible process control in an e-learning environment to enable personalized knowledge construction and improve learning effectiveness. We propose an e-learning system with interactive multimedia that can help learners better understand learning content and achieve comparable learning performance to that of classroom learning. The results from an empirical study provide significant evidence to support our proposition. The chapter also discusses several important issues towards building effective and sharable multimedia-based e-learning systems.
