A modification to the parameter estimation update law in [Q. Jia, Adaptive control and synchronization of a new hyper chaotic system with unknown parameters, Phys. Lett. A 362 (2007) 424] is proposed. So the unknown parameters are avoided to be used to construct a controller and also numerical simulation is done at the end of this paper and good performance is achieved to testified the rightness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

It is of vital importance to exactly estimate the unknown parameters of chaotic systems in chaos control and synchronization. In this paper, we present a method for estimating one-dimensional discrete chaotic system based on mean value method (MVM). It is proposed by exploiting the ergodic and synchronization features of chaos. It can effectively estimate the parameter value, and it is more exact than MVM. Finally, numerical simulations on Chebyshev map and Tent map show that the proposed method has better performance of parameter estimation than MVM.

The antiphase and complete lag synchronization of hyperchaotic Lü systems with unknown parameters is investigated. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, the sufficient conditions for achieving hybrid lag synchronization are derived. The optimized parameter observers are approached analytically via adaptive control approach. Numerical simulation results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

AbstractFirst, this paper announces a seven-term novel 3-D conservative chaotic system with four quadratic nonlinearities. The conservative chaotic systems are characterized by the important property that they are volume conserving. The phase portraits of the novel conservative chaotic system are displayed and the mathematical properties are discussed. An important property of the proposed novel chaotic system is that it has no equilibrium point. Hence, it displays hidden chaotic attractors. The Lyapunov exponents of the novel conservative chaotic system are obtained as L1= 0.0395,L2= 0 and L3= −0.0395. The Kaplan-Yorke dimension of the novel conservative chaotic system is DKY=3. Next, an adaptive controller is designed to globally stabilize the novel conservative chaotic system with unknown parameters. Moreover, an adaptive controller is also designed to achieve global chaos synchronization of the identical conservative chaotic systems with unknown parameters. MATLAB simulations have been depicted to illustrate the phase portraits of the novel conservative chaotic system and also the adaptive control results.

Abstract Chaos control and synchronization of chaotic systems is seemingly a challenging problem and has got a lot of attention in recent years due to its numerous applications in science and industry. This paper concentrates on the control and synchronization problem of the three-dimensional (3D) Zhang chaotic system. At first, an adaptive control law and a parameter estimation law are achieved for controlling the behavior of the Zhang chaotic system. Then, non-identical synchronization of Zhang chaotic system is provided with considering the Lü chaotic system as the follower system. The synchronization problem and parameters identification are achieved by introducing an adaptive control law and a parameters estimation law. Stability analysis of the proposed method is proved by the Lyapanov stability theorem. In addition, the convergence of the estimated parameters to their truly unknown values are evaluated. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate and to validate the effectiveness of the suggested method.
