Localization problem has great significance in the applications of underwater sensor networks (UWSN), such as real-time monitoring, target tracking and navigation. This paper analized a series of challenges in underwater localization problem, introduced exsiting localization algorithms and discussed their advantages and disadvantages, and then the development trend of localization problem is discussed. Finally, we give some suggestions in the design of localization algoprithms.

This paper considers the localization problem in mobile sensor networks. Such a problem is a challenging task, especially when measurements exchanged between sensors may contain outliers, that is, data not matching the observation model. This paper proposes two algorithms robust to outliers. These algorithms perform a set-membership estimation, where only the maximal number of outliers is required to be known. Using these algorithms, estimates consist of sets of boxes whose union surely contains the correct location of the sensor, provided that the considered hypotheses are satisfied. This paper proposes as well a technique for evaluating the number of outliers to be robust to. In order to corroborate the efficiency of both algorithms, a comparison of their performances is performed in simulations using Matlab.

In view of the massive transmission lines suffered disaster of ice coating at the beginning of 2008 in south China. In this paper, several typical schemes for the prevention and treatment of ice coating occurred in power networks home and abroad are analyzed. Common melting ice methods can be divided into three kinds: thermal ice-melting, mechanical de-icing and new de-icing. This paper describes a 500 kV transmission line and analyses each of these measures briefly. At the same time, the advantages and disadvantages of various measures and their applications were summarized. At last, the development trend and the research direction were pointed out.

Electromagnetic defect detection logging can measure multilayer pipeline and provide the information of casing defect and the remaining metal thickness, is the hot spot of the casing defect detection technology. This paper elaborates the advantages and disadvantages of electromagnetic defect detection logging and the present instrument situation, compares technical indexes of several new electromagnetic casing defect detection instruments, summarizes the latest research status, points out the problems existed in current researches and the development trend combining with the instrument index and theory research.

The paper mainly introduces the desulfurization technology before coal combustion and gives a brief analysis of principles , advantages and disadvantages of the three current coal desulfurization technologies: physical desulfurization, chemical desulfurization and biological desulfurization . This paper presents the technical advantages in the application of real-time database according to the development trend of ship electronic information system. The structures of RDM real-time database and processes of development are described in terms of the application of COTS technologies. Performance tests and competitive experiments are undertaken between commercial database and RDM real-time database, and the tests show the performance predominance of real-time database. Our paper fills a vacuum of experimentally performance test of real-time database in ship electronic information system.
