Water source heat pump system(WSHPS) is a new energy saving and environmentally air conditioning system, its degree of influence to groundwater related to the feasibility of construction of WSHPS and development & protection of regional groundwater. After introducing WSHPS, this paper analyzed the influence of WSHPS to groundwater, brought up the protection method to reduce influence. At last, a case study of new campus of Taiyuan university was carried out. The results showed that running of WSHPS won’t bring up disadvantage to groundwater environment.

Pile foundation thermal response test method was adopted to measure the heat transfer capacity of the pile foundation U-pipe heat exchanger. The heat pump system of pile foundation buried pipe was designed. BIN method was adopted to calculate the annual dynamic load of office in Shanghai and annual energy consumption, and its energy-saving effect was determined by comparing with the air-cooled heat pump air conditioning system. Finally, annual cost method was employed to study the investment and annual operating expenses of pile foundation buried pipe heat pump air conditioner systems, and their economy, advantages and disadvantages by comparing with those of the air-cooled heat pump air conditioning system were analyzed.

Energy used by primary and secondary Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems in post-secondary schools can account for a significant share of the total energy expenditure throughout the lifetime of these buildings. The following is a study of a Ryerson University buildings’ Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning system through the use of eQUEST energy modelling techniques. A baseline energy model was created and was compared to the buildings’ existing energy consumption, and energy intensity benchmarks. Suggested improvements to the existing Variable Air Volume system were determined by comparing the baseline VAV eQUEST simulation against two subsequent hydronic based eQUEST models; the Fan Coil System, and the Water Source Heat Pump System.

For the air conditioning system of a modern building, the paper proposes a design method of composite cold and heat sources system based on the ground source heat pump. The author describes the design principle of this system, the design of ground heat exchanger system and the control of soil heat pump system etc. Through the actual measurement, this design greatly reduces power consumption and can be used as references for future applications.

Compared with the water source heat pump system and the water air-conditioning system, and analyzed climatic characteristics and the status of water resources utilization in Zhejiang Province. The shallow surface water used for feasibility of summer air-conditioning cooling is analysis. As an example, testing water of a village in Zhejiang province Lin'an city, the shallow surface water can be directly used for the feasibility of the summer air conditioning cooling from the angle of water temperature, water quality, and the investment cost and operation cost.
