The paper established 3-D finite element model, studied the response pattern of rigid pile composite foundation under earthquake loading with time history analysis method. According to similarity theory, this paper established rigid pile composite foundation pile group model, analyzed the response pattern of it with pseudo-dynamic test methods. And compared and analyzed the results which were obtained by different methods, based on these analyses, some conclusions which may be of some value for anti-seismic design of this type of composite foundations are drawn

According to the similarity theory, this paper established a geometric similarity 1:10 and 3 × 3 rigid pile composite foundation pile group model. Pile strain , cushion deformation and flask displacement were obtained through pasting resistance strain gauges in pile, embedding strain gauge in cushion, connecting to displacement sensor at out of flask, etc., basing on pseudo-dynamic test method. These date were analyzed and studied, and then can conclude the response pattern under earthquake action on rigid pile composite foundation, which provide a basis for application of rigid pile composite foundation in practical engineering.

Based on ABAQUS finite element analysis software simulation, the finite element model for dynamic analysis of rigid pile composite foundation and superstructure interaction system is established, which selects the two kinds of models, by simulating the soil dynamic constitutive model, selecting appropriate artificial boundary. The influence of rigid pile composite foundation on balance and imbalance of varying rigidity is analyzed under seismic loads. The result shows that the maximum bending moment and the horizontal displacement of the long pile is much greater than that of the short pile under seismic loads, the long pile of bending moment is larger in the position of stiffness change. By constrast, under the same economic condition, the aseismic performance of of rigid pile composite foundation on balance of varying rigidity is better than that of rigid pile composite foundation on imbalance of varying rigidity.

This study assessed the structural performance of reinforced concrete (RC) arch bridges under strong ground motion. A detailed three-dimensional finite element model of a 400 m RC arch bridge with composite superstructure and double RC piers was developed and its behavior when subjected to strong earthquakes examined. Two sets of ground motion records were applied to simulate pulse-type near- and far-field motions. The inelastic behavior of the concrete elements was then evaluated via a seismic time history analysis. The concept of Demand to Capacity Ratios (DCR) was utilized to produce an initial estimate of the dynamic performance of the structure, emphasizing the importance of capacity distribution of force and bending moment within the RC arch and the springings and piers of the bridge. The results showed that the earthquake loads, broadly categorized as near- and far-field earthquake loads, changed a number of the bridge’s characteristics and hence its structural performance.

Compacted soil-cement pile possess the excellences both flexible pile and rigid pile. The composite foundation of compacted soil-cement pile are getting more and more applicable to construction. However, the research on their response under dynamic load, especially under earthquake load,is quite limited. Now the seismic response analysis in time domain is performed with finite element method(ABAQUS).Some parameters influencing the anti-seismic behavior of half-rigid pile composite foundation are studied. Based on these research , some conclusions which may be of some value for anti-seismic design of this type of composite foundations are drawn.

In this paper, based on the principle of gray theory, MGM(1,n) multi-variable settlement prediction model was established. Combined with specific examples of projects, settlement of rigid pile composite foundation was predicted, and the prediction results are compared with both prediction results of GM(1,1) gray model which is currently comparatively mature and the settlement observation results. The study shows that it is effective to use MGM(1,n) multivariate gray model to predict composite foundation settlement.
