The printing and dyeing wastewater produced by different dyes, as well as different printing and dyeing processes, have different components. These wastewater have high toxicity, high organic concentration, and deep chromaticity. Ozone catalytic oxidation is a very promising technical method for wastewater treatment. In this paper, Mn/Mg/Ce ternary catalyst was prepared, and the ozone catalytic oxidation treatment of actual and simulated printing and dyeing wastewater was performed to study the performance of four different carrier catalysts, namely, molecular sieve (MS), silica gel (SG), attapulgite (ATP), and nano alumina (Al2O3), by simulated dynamic test. The effects of reaction time, pH, and catalyst dosage on methyl orange degradation were studied. The results showed that under the optimum treatment conditions (120 min, pH 11, and 12.5 g/L catalyst dosage), the degradation rate of methyl orange reached 96% and the removal rate of the chemical oxygen demand of printing and dyeing wastewater reached 48.7%. This study shows that the treatment effect of ozone catalytic oxidation on printing and dyeing wastewater is remarkably improved after catalyst addition. This study provides a new choice of ozone catalyst for the degradation of printing and dyeing wastewaters in the future.

The article deals with dynamic plantography, which is a popular diagnostic method focused on assessment of the foot condition during walking and to expose foot disorders. The aim of the paper is to discover whether it’s possible to do dynamic analyses on short platforms by using comparison of short and long sensory platform output. To get dynamic output were used ImportaMedica platforms, specific long platform Elegance and short platform Speed. Three subjects were involved in dynamic test on both platforms. The evaluated parameters were surface of the foot, maximum and average pressure, speed and gait line. By comparing these parameters the biggest difference was discovered in adapting walking because of the correct tread on short platform. When comparing the outputs from the long and short platforms, a longer duration of the right and left footsteps was recorded for all three subjects on the short platform.

The spread of Diseases like Cholera and Diarrhea, which leads to loss of lives in developing countries is commonly caused by use of contaminated water. In this study ceramic pot filters for rural area water purification were developed. The clay sample was tested for physical properties and the mixtures of the clay and sawdust were made in seven (7) proportions of 75/25, 70/30, 65/35, 60/40, 55/45, 50/50, 45/55. The soil tests conducted on the different portions of the clay and sawdust material revealed that the shrinkage of the sawdust blended clay reduced to the minimum of 6.3 compared to the pure clay with 13.7. A fluid dynamic test experiment on each filter was conducted; similarly total dissolved solids (TDS), pH and turbidity tests for both raw water and filtered water were conducted. From fluid dynamic test results, filter 50/50 % tends to have higher filtration rate compared to the other two filters. From the TDS, pH, and turbidity test, the results obtained show that the filtered water quality has fallen within the world health organization (WHO) standard. It can therefore be concluded that the filtered water is safe for consumption.

The test object is the grandstand of the Suzhou Industrial Park Stadium. First, the structure was tested for dynamic characteristics, including natural frequency, mode test, and damping test. Then, the structure was subjected to a human-induced vibration response test. Lastly, the finite-element modeling of the structure was carried out, and the simulated and measured values were compared. The test results of the dynamic characteristics of the structure are consistent with the calculated values, and the finite-element modeling of the structure was accurate and reasonable. The natural frequency of structural modal test areas 1 and 2 met the 3 Hz limit vibration specified by JGJ/T 441-2019, and the second-order resonance frequency was still within the range of pedestrian load frequency, which may still cause comfort problems. Test results show that the presence of people increases the damping effect of the structure.

Hyper-heuristics comprise a set of approaches that are motivated (at least in part) by the objective of intelligently combining heuristic methods to solve hard optimization problems. Ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms have been proven to deal with Dynamic Optimization Problems (DOPs) properly. Despite the good results obtained by the integration of local search operators with ACO, little has been done to tackle DOPs. In this research, one of the most reliable ACO schemes, the MAX-MIN Ant System (MMAS), has been integrated with advanced and effective local search operators, resulting in an innovative hyper-heuristic. The local search operators are the Lin–Kernighan (LK) and the Unstringing and Stringing (US) heuristics, and they were intelligently chosen to improve the solution obtained by ACO. The proposed method aims to combine the adaptation capabilities of ACO for DOPs and the good performance of the local search operators chosen in an adaptive way and based on their performance, creating in this way a hyper-heuristic. The travelling salesman problem (TSP) was the base problem to generate both symmetric and asymmetric dynamic test cases. Experiments have shown that the MMAS provides good initial solutions to the local search operators and the hyper-heuristic creates a robust and effective method for the vast majority of test cases.

Abstract Weathering steel, a low carbon alloy steel, most widely used in marine transportation and construction fields like bridges, sculptures where corrosion resistance is the main concern. Weathering steel creates an adhering protective coating on its surface in the right environmental conditions. The protective layer which is formed on the surface weathering steel known as patina. It protects the structure from further corrosion to occur. When these weathering steels are continuously exposed to moisture environment its corrosion resistance decreases. So, our investigation deals about the studies of the coatings used on weathering steel to increase its corrosion resistance in marine conditions. The coatings applied on the substrate were poly urea, polyurethane, epoxy and black enamel. Corrosion tests were performed on these coated samples to evaluate their corrosion behaviour in different environments. Corrosion tests that were performed are immersion test, salt spray test and potentio-dynamic test. The profilometry test is investigated and it confirmed the depth of the corrosion on the coatings. Based on the corrosion studies, we conclude that poly urea is the excellent coating followed by polyurethane, black enamel and epoxy.

This article investigates the quasi-static compressive behavior and the drop weight impact tests during the crashing of energy-absorbing structures such as aluminum foam-filled tubes. The closed-cell Al and A356 Alloy foams were cast and, after cutting, inserted into the Al thin wall tube as axial fillers of single-, double- and quad-layer structures. Then, the specific energy absorption (SEA), complementary energy (CE), normalized energy (NE), and specific normalized energy (SNE) are calculated based on static and dynamic test results under uniaxial loading. In this new method, values of NE and SNE are always between 0 and 1. Results show that the SEA-strain curves obtained from crashing the foam-filled tubes were linear and overlapping under static and dynamic loading. However, NE curves for dynamic tests were cyclic and in the static tests were asymptotic non-linear, and utterly separable. Results indicated that the SNE for Al, A356 single layer, Al-A356 double-, and Al-A356-Al-A356 quad-layer foam-filled tubes during dynamic tests were 0.25, 0.29, 0.31, and 0.31, while for the static tests, 0.14,0.15, 0.17, and 0.14 were recorded. It was found that CE and NE energies were better than the SEA energy for recognizing plastic deformation and crushing behavior.

With the continuous increase of subway operating mileage, the problem of subway vibration has become more and more significant. Nowadays, the point-supported floating-slab track is recognized as the best method to control track vibration, which is mainly designed based on the mass-spring-damping theory. How to further improve the vibration control ability of the point-supported floating-slab track? In this paper, a new type of rubber point-supported floating slab track is designed based on the local resonance theory. Through calculation and dynamic test, it is obtained as follows: (1) The band gap of the point support structure by local resonance type depends on the two vertical vibration modes. (2) As the elastic modulus of the cladding layer increases, the bandwidth of the band gap of the corresponding structure increases significantly. (3) The increase of the vibrator density can increase the bandwidth, while reducing the start and stop frequencies, which is beneficial to attenuate the resonance of the floating-slab track. (4) The cushion material parameters of point support structure by local resonance type 2 will not affect the band gap. The increase in sleeve density will reduce the band gap, which is not conducive to vibration reduction. Local resonance type floating-slab track will be the development direction of track vibration-reduction measures in the future.

In this paper, an innovative way of calculating the Gurson–Tvergaard–Needleman parameter has been developed for AA 6063. AA 6063 is an aluminum alloy comprising the alloying ingredients magnesium and silicon. The Aluminum Association maintains the standard that governs its composition. It has strong mechanical properties and may be heat treated and welded. Image processing technique has been used to calculate the damage constant for the AA 6063. The image of the sample has been taken under a microscope of undeformed and fractured material. Then the images are analyzed using the Open CV tool in a python open-source environment. The initial and final void fraction of the sheet has been calculated. Damage models, particularly the Gurson–Tvergaard–Needleman (GTN) model, are widely used in numerical simulation of material deformations. Each damage model has some constants which must be identified for each material. The direct identification methods are costly and time-consuming. A combination of experimental, numerical simulation and optimization have been used to determine the constants in the current work. Numerical simulation of the dynamic test was performed utilizing the constants obtained from quasi-static experiments. The results showed a high precision in predicting the specimen's profile in the dynamic testing.
