Using electromagnetic horizontal continuous casting method, A trial was carried out on producing (Φ54mm) 1560 nickel-based alloy round ingot. Examinations are also proceed on properties of a series of 1560 alloy wires and rods that made from the ingot by further rolling and drawing. The results show that the central area of ingot produced by electromagnetic horizontal casting is composed of uniform equiaxed grains, Some casting defects that usually occur in conventional horizontal continuous casting , such as central crackshrinkage cavity and porosity are restrained. Meanwhile, the segregation of solutes was reduced significantly. This technique shorten the conventional production process by eliminating annealingforging and sanding operation, which can greatly enhance the production yield.

Copper tube produced by FA6502 copper alloy in a company of Wuhan appears shrinkage cavity in horizontal continuous casting, the graphite mold core which exerts stretching effects is easy to be snapped in production process. The reason why shrinkage cavity appears is found through large number of experiments and analysis. Then we adjust the component of FA6502 copper alloy, the quality of new copper alloy FA6506 is improved significantly. Furthermore, we find the reason why the graphite mold core is snapped in production process, FA6502 copper alloy’s shrinkage rate is too large in solidification. The compact power of the graphite mold core is too large to bear, too much resistance in pulling process is exerted so that the graphite mold core is snapped.

The existing methods for detecting of casting defects and their disadvantages are considered. Hydrostatic weighing method is proposed for detecting of hidden fl aws by comparing the reference and calculated densities of the casting, method for calculating of the error is recommended. The adequacy of theoretical calculations is verifi ed experimentally

Gambir is a specific plant for Indonesia with the central area of West Sumatra Province. Gambir plant processed products are widely used for medicines, cosmetics and dyes. Gambir production has been going on for more than a century in the central villages of West Sumatra Province, but there are still many problems in gambir production that are detrimental to gambir farmers. The problems felt by gambir farmers so far include the fluctuating price of processed gambir products and tend to be cheap. The low price of processed farmers' gambir is because the production process is traditional and mixes with other ingredients so it is not hygienic. Furthermore, the low price of processed gambir products is because they are only sold to collectors in village markets (monopsony market structure). Seeing the above problems, the solution as well as the wishes of the community, first is training and assistance for pure and hygienic gambier processing. Both training and assistance in selling pure products through online media to get more consumers.
