The tube tugging and mooring is the key step in the process of the immersed tunnel, and the most important theoretical is the calculation of water flow force. According to the numerical simulation and physical model of the tube in the Pearl River, the difference value of the flow resistance coefficient can be calculated. The fluent software is used to simulate the process of the tube tugging and mooring. On the basis of the empirical data of the tube experiment in the Pearl River, the flow resistance coefficient is obtained in the process of the tube tugging.

A new type of diffluence T-junction with low-resistance was designed to reduce the flow resistance coefficient. After the numerical simulation on internal flow field for both the traditional and newly-invent T-junction, an analysis was made on their flow pattern, and their fluid resistance coefficient was computed. At last, the actual fluid resistance was measured respectively. It shows that: the results from numerical simulation agree well to those got in experimental testing. Furthermore, the flow resistance coefficient of T-junction is decreased from 1.13 to 0.61 after redesign, which indicates high effectiveness of this process. The mechanism is that smoothness for branch can inhibit the vortex generation efficiently and greatly reduce its flow resistance coefficient, which consequently reduces the gross flow resistance

Using the FLUENT software, this paper taking the wind load shape coefficient in the current code for the design of building structures as the comparison standard, have numerical wind tunnel simulation of the wind the surface wind pressure on low layer double slope roof. It focused on the effect of four convective term difference schemes on the numerical simulation, such as First-Order Upwind, Second-Order Upwind, Power Law and Quadratic Upwind Interpolation for ConvectiveKinematics. It provided reasonable reference for selection of convective term difference format.

AbstractThe immersed tunnel which is composed of elements has drawn more attention nowadays because of new advancements and developments. The elements are prefabricated somewhere else and floated to the tunnel site to be sunk into the prepared trench. Each element must line up exactly for the watertight gaskets to seal properly. The HZM immersed tunnel, a key part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) that crosses the Pearl River Estuary and links Hong Kong to the east, and Zhuhai and Macao to the west, is 6.7 km long, one of the longest immersed tunnel ever realized in the world. For the construction of such a mega immersed tunnel, particular care should be taken in the perspective of geodetic control. This paper described the design and implementation of the geodetic basis and hierarchical surface control networks. And to decrease the influence of lateral refraction and to improve the configuration strength and increase the number of redundant observation compared with traverse, the design of underground surveying network named duo-linear joint chain and the results of gyro checks are presented. In the end HZM immersed tunnel surveying data is analyzed and the performance of the control networks is demonstrated.
