This paper first introduces the units which are used in general-purpose finite element analysis software ABAQUS simulation of steel and concrete as well as their material constitutive models, and then taking the simulation analysis of a spiral staircase for instance to draw displacement of a spiral staircase along the outer edge lines, the inner edge lines, and the axes of the stair treads under static loadings. By comparison, we find the rationality and insufficient points of the simplification of the spiral staircase to the calculation assumption which makes the axle wires as rod pieces. According o the displacement and stress of the spiral staircase, we give ​​some suggestions to provide some useful references to the designers of the spiral staircase.

Aiming at the problem of ultra-precision polishing of the bore surface of the elbow, a new ultra-precision polishing instrument is designed, which is suitable for the inner hole finishing and finishing of the elbow, and is placed in the cavity of the work piece, the flexible line connecting spherically spraying ultra-precision polishing instrument. And the simulation analysis of the polishing process in the elbow is carried out by ANSYS 11.0 finite element analysis software. It is verified that the polishing instrument can finish the ultra-precision polishing of the internal surface of the elbow, and achieve the purpose of the internal surface roughness reduction.

The numerical simulation analysis, by using senior nonlinear finite element analysis software MSC.Marc, was achieved in this paper for the tie-replacing procedures of a steel tube tied-arch filled with concrete. Through this analysis, the control parameters were accurately determined for the installing of new ties and the removing of old ties. Results of numerical analysis ensured the bridge structure stable during the replacement, made the construction of safe and convenient, and played a guiding role in the maintenance and reinforcement. The successful experience could be referenced by other similar projects.

With the development of modern mechanics methods and computer technology, some practical commercial finite element analysis software was introduced to the ultrasonic cleaner design. ANSYS software is a financial structure, fluid, electric field, magnetic field, the sound field analysis in one large general-purpose finite element analysis software can be used in many industrial fields. The basic operation of ANSYS was introduced. The simulation based on the ANSYS was applied in the design of ultrasonic cleaner successfully, which can improve work efficiency and shorten development period of ultrasonic cleaner.

Bad cutting state of sugar cane is a most situation in sugar cane cutting process, which seriously affects the cutting performance of sugarcane harvester and its promotion. According to the fourth strength theory, through finite element analysis software ANSYS, the mechanical simulation analysis on bad cutting state of cane was done. And through regression analysis on simulation results by software SPSS, the criterion of bad cutting state of sugarcane was obtained.

The purpose of this paper is to present how hand-calculations and a general finite element analysis program can be utilized to determine under what conditions coiled tubing (CT) could buckle helically in a vertical well. This is especially useful when determining loads on the tubing in a completion or work-over application. Two situations are considered as described below. • A Quasi-Static case when either: –Weight is slacked off from the surface. or –A bottom force that may be generated by reservoir pressure for instance. • A Dynamic case, which occurs when: –Weight is slacked off too quickly and the tubing impinges upon an object causing an impulse to be generated into the tubing. This paper presents the theory for the hand calculations and shows how the hand calculations may be utilized for a field example. In addition, the same field example is considered in the general finite element analysis program and the limitations of the hand calculations are discussed as well as the capability of the dynamic finite element model simulation. Hand calculations restrict us to the quasi-static scenario and only allow an assessment of the deformation of the coiled tubing deformation in the linear-elastic range. In contrast, the general purpose finite element analysis software allows for large deformation, and non-linear material behavior. In addition, the general purpose finite element analysis software allows for tubing evaluation locally after lockup of the tubing occurs. Generally hand calculations or quasi-static simulators have been used to assess the deformation of tubing during an impact event; these have proven to be inadequate because they cannot capture the transient event and do not model the inertial forces correctly. The general purpose finite element code provides better estimates of the deformation and stress state of the tubing. When assessing the dynamic behavior of tubing, it would be prudent to utilize the capability of general purpose finite element software to obtain realistic and an accurate assessment of the deformation and stress state of the tubing.
