The EVA/NR/PF composites with and without IAMA were prepared using Brabender Plasticoder at 160oC with 50rpm rotor speed. The effects of potash feldspar loading and isophathalic acid-maleic anhydride (IAMA) on the tensile properties and morphology analysis of EVA/NR/PF composites were studied. The results indicated that tensile strength for EVA/NR/PF and EVA/NR/PFIAMA composites decreased but M100 increased as the filler loading increased. EVA/NR/PFIAMA composites showed higher value of tensile strength and M100.

The effect of isophathalic acid-maleic anhydride (IAMA) as a compatibilizer on the tensile properties and swelling behavior of ethylene vinyl acetate /natural rubber/ feldspar (EVA/NR/PF) composites were studied. The EVA/NR/PF composites with and without IAMA were prepared using Brabender Plasticoder at 160oC with 50rpm rotor speed. The results indicated that EVA/NR/PF/IAMA showed higher value of tensile strength and M100 but lower elongation at break and percentage mass swell compared to EVA/NR/PF composites.

The effects of polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride (PEgMAH) as a compatibilizer on the tensile properties and swelling behavior of ethylene vinyl acetate /Natural Rubber/ Feldspar (EVA/NR/FP) composites were studied. The EVA/NR/FP composites with and without PEgMAH were prepared using Brabender Plasticoder at 160oC with 50rpm rotor speed. The results indicated that EVA/NR/FP/PEgMAH had higher value of tensile strength and M100 but lower elongation at break and percentage mass swell.

The effect of polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride as a compatibilizer on the tensile properties, and swelling behavior of recycled high density polyethylene/ethylene vinyl acetate/ waste tyre dust (r-HDPE/EVA/WTD) composites was studied. r-HDPE/EVA/WTD composites with different tyre dust loading and the addition of polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride (PEgMAH) were prepared with Brabender Plasticorder at temperature of 160°C and rotor speed of 50 rpm. The result indicated that r-HDPE/EVA/WTD/PEgMAH composites exhibit higher tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and mass swell resistance than r-HDPE/EVA/WTD composites.

Taro powder (TP) filled composites based on recycled high density polyethylene (RHDPE)/ ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) were prepared via melt blending method. Polyethylene-grafted-maleic anhydride (PE-g-MAH) was used as a compatibilizer to enhance interfacial bonding of RHDPE/EVA/TP composites. The effects of TP loading and the addition of PE-g-MAH on the tensile properties and thermal stability of RHDPE/EVA/TP composites were investigated and studied. Findings indicated that increased TP loading will reduce tensile strength and elongation at break while increasing the modulus of elasticity. The thermal stability of RHDPE/EVA/TP composites improved by increasing filler loading. With respect to both tensile properties and thermal stability, RHDPE/EVA/TP composites with PE-g-MAH performed better than the composites without the addition of compatibilizers.

This paper describes tensile properties, and morphology analysis of different composition of RHDPE and EVA blends were studied. The main goals are to describe the effect of Caprolactam as compatibilizer used to improve the compatibility between RHDPE and EVA. The RHDPE/EVA blends were prepared at 160°C and the rotor speed of 50rpm in an internal mixer. The tensile strength for RHDPE/EVA blends increased, while adding Caprolactam by 6phr in the blend formulation significantly improved the tensile properties. The SEM micrograph show a better interfacial adhesion between RHDPE and EVA phases for RHDEP/EVA/Caprolactam blends than RHDPE/EVA blends.

Wollastonite is one type of inorganic filler. The effects of wollastonite loading on tensile properties of wollastonite (WS) filled high density polyethylene (HDPE)/Natural Rubber (NR) composites was studied. The HDPE/NR/WS composites were prepared by using Brabender EC Plus at a temperature of 180 °C with rotor speed of 50 rpm for 10 min. It was found that the increasing of wollastonite loading had decreased the tensile strength and elongation at break, whereas the Young’s modulus of the HDPE/NR/WS composites had increased with the increasing of wollastonite loading.

Sawdust powder filled natural rubber composites were prepared by incorporation of different loadings (20100 phr) of sawdust powder fillers. Two series of composites were studied, i.e. composites with and without maleic anhydride grafted natural rubber (NRgMAH). Grafting of maleic anhydride onto the natural rubber was done prior to compounding using an internal mixer at 145°C. The curing characteristics, hardness property and tensile properties of the composites were studied. Results indicate that the scorch time and cure time decrease with increasing filler loading whereas the maximum torque exhibit an increasing trend. Increasing sawdust powder content also increases the tensile modulus and shows superior hardness property over than 80 shore A, but the tensile strength and elongation at break decrease. As the filler loading increases, the rubberfiller interactions of the composites decrease. The interfacial interaction of sawdust powder filler and natural rubber matrix was enhanced by the addition of NRgMAH, as exhibited by the fracture surfaces of the composites using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and rubberfiller interaction studies. The presence of NRgMAH has prolonged the curing time and scorch time and enhanced the tensile properties.
