In this paper, the characteristics of GD-II built-in motorized spindle is introduced;the thermal features of the frameless motor and the hybrid bearings have been studied;the 2D temperature field model has also been developed by finite element method. The results of the calculation show that a good efficiency of heat transferring has been achieved with the oil-air lubrication and oil-water heat exchanger.

Balance for high speed motorized spindle is most important, it will influence the dynamic behavior of the high speed machine tools. In this paper, the GD-IV high speed spindle is introduced. In order to improve its balance accuracy, the step interference fit is developed to connect the rotor and the shaft. The interference fitted assembly has been modeled theoretically, the analysis highlights that the tolerance of the interference fit consists of the static section and dynamic section, the static section is determined by the transmitting torque while the dynamic section is determined by the centrifugal force. The Calculation of interference fit for the GD-IV spindle shows that the dynamic section is about 4.5 times larger than the static. Furthermore, the three dimensional model of the step interference fit between the shaft and the rotor has also been built up with finite element method and the stress distribution on the mating surface has been calculated. The results show that the maximum stress occurring near the chamfer region of the internal surface of the rotor is up to 235 MPa lower than the permissible material stress 278 MPa, so that the design of the step interference fit is reliability and safety.

The vector form intrinsic finite element (VFIFE) method is springing up as a new numerical method in strong non-linear structural analysis for its good convergence, but has been constricted in static or transient analysis. To overwhelm its disadvantages, a new damping model was proposed: the value of damping force is proportional to relative velocity instead of absolute velocity, which could avoid inaccuracy in high-speed dynamic analysis. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method proved under low speed; dynamic characteristics and vibration rules have been verified under high speed. Simulation results showed that the modified VFIFE method could obtain numerical solutions with good efficiency and accuracy. Based on this modified method, high-speed vibration rules of spiral bevel gear pair under different loads have been concluded. The proposed method also provides a new way to solve high-speed rotor system dynamic problems.

The main objective of this study is to analyze the structural response of a boat during a slamming event using the Finite Element Method in a Small Water Area Twin Hull (SWATH) type boat.  In the mentioned load condition, the acceptance criteria established by a classification society must be fulfilled, taking into account the areas where this event affects the structure such as the junction deck, the pontoons and other structural members established by the standard, all this generated by the high pressure loads in the ship's structure in a very short period of time being an element of study in this type of vessels, as long as they are within the range of high speed vessels. Among the main results of this study were the deformations and stresses in the structure obtained under the reference parameters of the classification society.

The article has analyzed the changes of temperature of different materials of the spindle, and considered 170SD30 Ceramic Motorized Spindle and the same model Metal Motorized Spindle as the research objects, analyzed the inside heat source and heat transfer mechanism of the high-speed motorized spindle; used finite element software to set up the model of the motorized spindle, and did simulation and analysis. Verified by simulation, heat transfer rate of ceramic materials is slower than the metallic materials, in actual operation of the process, due to different materials have different heat transfer rate, so the temperature distribution of the different materials of motorized spindle are different. This conclusion provides the basis to solve motorized spindle temperature field distribution.

In order to study the distribution of the stress field in the high-speed intermittent cutting process, finite element model of high-speed intermittent cutting is established. Exponential material model of the constitutive equation and adaptive grid technology are applied in the finite element analysis software AdvantEdge. The material processing is simulated under certain cutting conditions with FEM ( Finite Element Method ) and the distribution of cutting force, stress field, and temperature field are received. A periodic variation to the cutting force and temperature is showed in the simulation of high-speed intermittent cutting. Highest value of the milling temperature appears in front contacting area of the knife -the chip.and maximum stress occurs at the tip of tool or the vicinity of the main cutting edge. The analysis of stress and strain fields in-depth is of great significance to improve tool design and durability of tool.
