The steering engine is a import execute component in controlling of humanoid robot、manipulator and model aircraft . In this paper, with the single chip processor STC89C52 as the core, and adopting the timer interrupt through serial communication way of real-time control system to produce PWM waves. This method has low cost and simple hardware design, can achieve more independent PWM waveforms output.

Arduino microcontrollers are popular, low-cost, easy-to-program, and have an active user community. This paper seeks to quantitatively assess whether or not Arduinos are a good fit for real-time feedback control experiments and controls education. Bode plots and serial echo tests are used to assess the use of Arduinos in two scenarios: a prototyping mode that involves bidirectional real-time serial communication with a PC and a hybrid mode that streams data in real-time over serial. The closed-loop performance with the Arduino is comparable to that of another more complicated and more expensive microcontroller for the plant considered. Some practical tips on using an Arduino for real-time feedback control are also given.

Ethernet has been broadly used in modern industry for its exoteric standard, flexibility and low cost. Ethernet is becoming the right choice for many engineering application. However, issues of performance must be considered when we apply it to timing sensitive field such as real time control system and so on. An Ethernet interface solution implemented based on s3c2410a and ax88796 was described in this article, and in order to improve the performance, inline assemble was introduced into this study. The effect of performance improvement through inline assemble was checked by ping experiments. It was proved that inline assemble can improve the performance of Ethernet interface distinctly.

In the Martial Arts arena contest of robot, Humanoid robot should recognize the target timely and accurately. So robot vision technology becomes a key of the contest. In this paper, target recognition algorithms based on color information are analyzed. According to the results, an improved algorithm based on Table Lookup method is proposed, which aimed to provide more rapidity of computing in real-time control system on the robot. It is shown in illustrative experiment that average 50% time was saved in computing when using the new algorithm instead of traditional algorithms.

ABSTRACTA highly flexible Rapid Thermal Multiprocessing (RTM) reactor is described. This flexibility is the result of several new innovations: a lamp system, an acoustic thermometer and a real-time control system. The new lamp has been optimally designed through the use of a “virtual reactor” methodology to obtain the best possible wafer temperature uniformity. It consists of multiple concentric rings composed of light bulbs with horizontal filaments. Each ring is independently and dynamically controlled providing better control over the spatial and temporal optical flux profile resulting in excellent temperature uniformity over a wide range of process conditions. An acoustic thermometer non-invasively allows complete wafer temperature tomography under all process conditions - a critically important measurement never obtained before. For real-time equipment and process control a model based multivariable control system has been developed. Extensive integration of computers and related technology for specification, communication, execution, monitoring, control, and diagnosis demonstrates the programmability of the RTM.
