This paper tries to use Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) as the foundation, combining Fuzzy Comprehensive Assessment (FCA) method and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), to make decisions for the project. First we use FCA method to analyze and quantize each index, then use AHP method to determine the weight of each index, use Evaluation Model of DEA Cross-efficiency to reduce the error of expert evaluation and weight in the FCA method. This paper will give the detailed steps. Finally, we use a case to test the reliability and feasibility of our method. We think, this paper will provide a now method for the Construction project bidders.

This paper presents a practical assessment of brand competitiveness in property insurance industry through Fuzzy Comprehensive Assessment. The multicriteria evaluation model and weighting matrix have been determined by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The synthetically appraisal score of property insurance companies can be estimated by Fuzzy Comprehensive Assessment, which contains a two-stage decision. At the end of this paper, three listed property insurance companies have been evaluated following the above methods.

In this article, we propose a method for ranking tourist destinations and evaluating their performances under a sustainability perspective: a fuzzy multiple criteria decision-making method is applied for determining sustainability performance values and ranking destinations accordingly. We select a set of sustainability evaluation criteria and use a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to weight the selected criteria. We also optimize each evaluator’s membership function support by means of a fuzzy entropy maximization criteria. A case study is illustrated and results are compared with two data envelopment analysis–based models. The simplicity of the proposed approach along with the easy readability of the results allow its direct applicability for all involved stakeholders.

This study proposes a novel evaluation model for lawyer selection incorporating the lawyer’s backbone leadership attitude employing the hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. In the proposed approach, the lawyer’s backbone leadership attitude is employed as an evaluation factor in the evaluation model for lawyer selection from law firms’ perspective. In this paper, a hybrid approach based on the Delphi technique and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is proposed to manage qualitative and quantitative criteria for selecting the best alternative lawyer for law firms in China. Finally, a law firm in China is carried out to verify the feasibility of the proposed approach. Based on the result, the backbone leadership does provide valuable information in the evaluation model for lawyer selection. The results also revealed that the proposed approach would help law firms and human resource managers to understand and develop strategies to hire a lawyer.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is one of the widely accepted and frequently used priority assessment methods. A number of studies, which employed the AHP method, have already been carried out in different domains to support their multi-criteria decision-making definitions and applications. However, few researchers have paid attentions to extract and represent the important concepts and their relationships from the AHP method itself. The aim of this study is firstly to propose a way for representing the AHP method as an AHP Ontology together with a set of reasoning rules. Then, a prototype assessment tool is developed to show the possibility of obtaining more flexibility and reusability of this ontological representation.

Abstract The objective of this article is to select land for commercial buildings in Rio de Janeiro city using multiple criteria decision-making techniques. The techniques used were based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Logic methods. These methods were chosen because of functionality, flexibility and great application in engineering problems for decision making involving multiple criteria. Its application was made through an opinion survey with expert builders, where 6 (six) factors for evaluation were selected in 10 (ten) commercial land alternatives. For the analytical operation of the methods, the software used were: Super Decisions and MATLAB®, respectively for each method, presenting the factors classified, in order of priority, in the selection of land, and ranking of the alternatives according to the defined scenario, facilitating in this way the process of selection of land for buildings, establishing a scientific way for the decision process.

The mango seed was extracted to starch via distillation, alkaline, sedimentation and centrifugation methods. Based on the analysis, different starch extraction methods resulted in different proximate composition, physicochemical, morphological, structural, functional and thermal properties of starch. As such, it is necessary to choose a suitable starch extraction method to fabricate starch-based film for packaging application. Therefore, in this study, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied for performing the decision-making process. Based on the AHP method, it was found that, the best alternative for starch-based films is distillation method.

The competitive environment of the global air transport industry are challenging in this era. The relative efficiency of airports has been one of the important topics in this industry. This paper has investigated a review of the literature on the efficiency of global airport to obtain input and output variables along with queries to experts. This paper proposes a method that integrates Data envelopment analysis (DEA) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate the efficiency in Decision Making Units (DMUs). DEA is used to measure the efficiency by employing linear programming to generate efficiency weights to the symmetric metric. Meanwhile AHP can be used to calculate the weight and rank efficiency of DMUs. The main objective of this study proposes a DEA model is to examine the relative efficiency of Main Airports in Thailand. This information can be used to help stakeholders understand the problem and opportunities of airport operation.
