The press hardening steel with thick specification has been used as automobile chassis parts. With the increase of the thickness, the cooling rate of the inner core is lower in the conventional process, resulting in a poor harden ability, and the fatigue test is not qualified. In this study, the microstructure of hot forming parts with thick specifications was studied by means of metallographic and micro-hardness testing. The results show that there is a microstructure gradient in the thick hot forming parts, which leads to the uneven strength in the cross section and finally affects the fatigue test results. The finite element analysis method is used to study the cooling rate of the inner core of the hot forming parts. The high hardenability press hardening steel products has been prepared by adjusting the components.

Abstract REFERENCE: H. M. R. Aboutorabi and L. Kung, “Application of Coupled Structural Acoustic Analysis and Sensitivity Calculations to a Tire Noise Problem,” Tire Science and Technology, TSTCA, Vol. 40, No. 1, January – March 2012, pp. 25–41. ABSTRACT: Tire qualification for an original equipment (OE) program consists of several rounds of submissions by the tire manufacturer for evaluation by the vehicle manufacturer. Tires are evaluated both subjectively, where the tire performance is rated by an expert driver, and objectively, where sensors and testing instruments are used to measure the tire performance. At the end of each round of testing the evaluation results are shared and requirements for performance improvement for the next round are communicated with the tire manufacturer. As building and testing is both expensive and time consuming predictive modeling and simulation analysis that can be applied to the performance of the tire is of great interest and value. This paper presents an application of finite element analysis (FEA) modeling along with experimental verification to solve tire noise objections at certain frequencies raised by an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) account. Coupled structural-acoustic analysis method was used to find modal characteristics of the tire at the objectionable frequencies. Sensitivity calculations were then carried out to evaluate the strength of contribution from each tire component to the identified modes. Based on these findings changes to the construction were proposed and implemented that addressed the noise issue.

The purpose of this study was to determinate , using the Finite Element Analysis Method, the mechanical stress in a solid body , temporary molar restored with the self-curing GC material. The originality of our study consisted in using an accurate structural model and applying a concentrated force and a uniformly distributed pressure. Molar structure was meshed in a Solid Type 45 and the output data were obtained using the ANSYS software. The practical predictions can be made about the behavior of different restorations materials.

The problem of optimizing the design of vertical column press traverse according to the metal consumption criterion is taken into consideration. As a limitation, the maximum value of equivalent stresses in the volume of the traverse was used. It is shown that the methods of parametric and topological optimization are ineffective for solving the optimization problem. A mathematical model of the stress-strain state of the traverse is proposed, which allows carrying out simulation independently from other elements of the press. The finite element analysis of the existing structure of the traverse revealed the redundancy of the loaded elements amplification, as well as the low manufacturability of the structure. The method of expert analysis was used to find the optimal design. The effect of the thickness of the base of the traverse on the resulting equivalent stresses was studied. A new design of the traverse was proposed on the base of the study results. That design is characterized by low metal capacity and high manufacturability. It is found that the maximum stresses occur in the areas of rapid changes in shape, as well as in the areas of loads.

With the continuous development of urban construction projects in HebeiProvince, the rise and development of high-rise buildings and undergroundengineering, the design and research of foundation pit support structure has become more and more important. The design of the foundation pit support structure directly affects the settlement and position changes of the building itself and the surrounding stratum. In this paper, the characteristics of foundation pit support are analyzed, and the related theories of finite element analysis method are introduced. Combined with the actual situation of Hebei Province, the finite element analysis method is used to simulate the construction method of foundation pile anchor support structure system. The design was analyzed and studied.
