This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the development of audio-visual teaching media based on Graphic Organizer to improve students’ ability to find the main idea of a paragraph at the fifth grade of MIN 2 in Labuhanbatu Selatan. This study follows the Research and Development (R & D) developed by Borg and Gall and has been modified by Sugiyono. This includes nine steps, namely; Potential and Problems, Gathering Information, Product Design, Design Validation, Design Revision, Product Trial, Revision Product, Trial of Use, and Revision of Final Products. The data were collected from interviews, observation, and questionnaires. There were three instruments used, namely preliminary instruments, product development instruments, and product testing instruments. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis to describe the results of product development. The findings of this study indicate that 1) the validity of assessment made by the material experts of the product media was found to be 80%. The media expert’s assessment of product media obtained a percentage of 86.6%; 2) In terms of the practicality of the product, the percentage of responses given by small-scale students shows 97.6% and the percentage of responses given by large-scale students is 98.4%. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaires filled by the teacher is 100%, which is adjusted to the practicality criteria table; 3) the average score for the effectiveness before using the product is 76.87%. Meanwhile, the average score for the effects after using the product is 94.37

Abstract The necessity of testing the equipment for monitoring the operation of nuclear power plants is justified. It is proposed to use optical fiber and pulsed laser radiation for these purposes. It is established that optical fiber is more resistant to radiation than other communication systems. The design of a fiber-optic emergency simulator is developed. The calculation of its characteristics is carried out. Their experimental research was carried out. It was found that with an optical signal delay of 98.6 microseconds, the loss is – 26 dB with an uneven frequency response of ± 2 dB. This makes it possible to test the entire set of equipment that uses optical signals used to control a nuclear power plant.

The growing use of highly specialized tools has led to a better knowledge of the mechanical properties of the structures, reducing the destructive tests. The paper is aimed to identify an investigation method capable of directing staff in the planning of non-destructive test. The experimental campaigns must be planned in order to optimize the number and the type of tests to limit invasiveness and impact. The proposed method has been organized in a logical scheme that permits, in five steps, to predict with a good approximation the critical sections for an optimal setup of testing instruments. This method has been applied to the Octagonal Hall in Diocletian’s Bath, to establish a better location for the dynamic endoscopy and tomographic tests. A geometrical model was built using the plans, elevations, sections provided by the National Roman Museum and the point cloud made through a drone. With HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling) it was possible to synthesize the information obtained from the geometric and material survey and then to convey it to a finite element model built on Midas Fea NX. Then, structural analyses, both linear and nonlinear, have been carried out for the optimal test setup.

This research was conducted on employees of conventional state owned banks in the city of Surabaya. The goals of the research to analyze the relationship beetween job stress and cyberloafing on organizational commitment. Data collection used interviews and online questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of 26 questions and was filled in by 58 respondents. Testing instruments using validity and reliability tests. The classical assumption test used on the research which included linearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, and normality test. Regression test using multiple linear regression analysis. Testing hypothesis using the t test. research results reveal that job stress has no effect on organizational commitment, but the results of cyberloafing found that there was a positive effect on organizational commitment.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between arm muscle strength and forehand drive skills in table tennis. This study uses a correlational research method. Subjects or samples in this study were PTMSI athletes in Bengkulu, totaling 20 people. The instruments used in this study were a questionnaire, a questionnaire, as well as an arm muscle strength test instrument and a forehand drive skill test instrument used to collect data. The stages in this study are: (1) Conducting observations, (2) distributing questionnaires and questionnaires, and (3) testing instruments for arm muscle strength and forehand drive skills. As for the value obtained r count 0.65> r table 0.468.Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between arm muscle strength and forehand drive skills in table tennis.

Inspired by the previous recast literature, this paper aims to investigate whether more explicit recasts are more effective than implicit recasts in second language grammar teaching and learning. Four empirical studies (two classroom-based and two laboratory-based) on implicit and explicit recasts were reviewed. In the two classroom-based studies, recasts were coded as explicit or implicit according to their length, intonation, number of changes, type of change, prosodic emphasis, etc. The effectiveness of recasts was measured by learners’ successful uptake rate and test scores. Conclusion drawn from these two studies is that more explicit recasts (e.g., short, declarative, reduced, one-change) tend to be more effective than implicit recasts in facilitating second language learning. In the two laboratory-based studies, recasts were divided as explicit or implicit mainly according to their intonation and the number of recast moves. Testing instruments included a spontaneous production test, an oral imitation test, and an untimed grammatically judgement test in one study; and an immediate and delayed error identification and correction tasks in the other study. Test scores and error correction rate were collected to measure the effectiveness of different recasts. Results suggest that, in laboratory settings, more explicit recasts might be more effective than implicit recasts or as effective as implicit recasts in grammar teaching and learning.

In this paper, thermal comfort parameters of various parts of selected standard denim trousers subject to 2 years of daily wearing are experimentally investigated, both under dry and wet state. The study is based on the use of fast testing instruments, which require small testing samples and quick measurement. From the study, it is inferred that wearing of denim trouser really changes the properties, some of them negatively, but the affected areas are small.
