In order to investigate the feasibility of spray forming process for production of high Si steel sheets, 4.8~6.4%Si steels were prepared by spray forming process using N2 and Ar gases and their cold workability was compared with that of conventional ingot cast samples. Atomizing gas affected significant effect on deposit features, microstructural characteristics and mechanical properties of the spray formed high Si steels.

Bending behavior occurs in the hot press forming process, resulting in many cases of failure during forming. To address the problem of cracking and improve the formability and mechanical properties of boron steel sheets in the bending process, an experiment has been carried out by using a spring compound bending die. Also, a comparison has been made between the traditional U-bending die and the spring compound bending die with regard to formability. The influence of the parameters for hot press forming such as the heating temperature, punch speed, and die radii on the mechanical properties and microstructure was analyzed by tension testing and metallographic observations.

AZ91D magnesium alloy is one of the most widely used magnesium alloys in the production of metal forming, which use the characteristics from liquid state to solid state of metal to form. The present status of the research and application of the semi-solid forming for AZ91D magnesium alloys at present was reviewed in this paper, including the microstructural characteristics, the thixotropic and rheological behavior, the forming process of semi-solid for AZ91D magnesium alloys and the mechanical properties of the parts made of semi-solid magnesium alloys. The developing prospects and the key points of the semi-solid forming for AZ91D magnesium alloys were forecasted, and the industrial application of the alloy were also discussed.
