We reported a case of unusual intraocular Loa loa in a 27-year-old patient who presented with painful red eye. Biomicroscopy revealed a living and active adult worm in the anterior chamber of the right eye. After surgical extraction under local anesthesia, parasitological identification confirmed L. loa filariasis.

We describe a case of Urrets-Zavalia syndrome (UZS) in a healthy 56-year-old woman who underwent femtosecond-assisted phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation in both eyes. One month after an uneventful postoperative course in the left eye, the right eye was operated. Dilated pupil which was nonreactive to light appeared on day 21 postoperatively. This was discovered upon examination following anterior chamber inflammatory reaction which occurred 2 weeks following her surgery. Our case report emphasizes the importance and danger in developing UZS even if the reaction in the anterior chamber does not occur immediately after surgery. In addition, the importance of intraocular pressure follow-up in the period after UZS is acknowledged.

Transmigration of canines across mandibular midline is a rare and elusive phenomenon described in the dental literature. Etiology of this phenomenon is obscure, but in some cases supernumerary teeth may be one of the causes. Surgical extraction is indicated due to pathologic lesions, infection, trauma to the adjacent teeth, pain, ectopic eruption, and interference with prosthesis. The aim of this case report is to describe the treatment of transmigrant impacted mandibular canine near to the mandibular symphysis and to review the literature about its incidence, prevalence, and treatment options. In the anterior mandible, labial access was performed followed by osteotomy and odontosection, for tooth removal. Canine impaction is more prevalent in the maxilla than in the mandible, but canine transmigration is more frequent in the mandible. Females seem to be more affected than males, and the left side is more prevalent than the right. Although the literature is controversial about treatment protocol for transmigrant teeth, several authors indicate its extraction to prevent lesions that are associated with impacted teeth, especially when orthodontic traction is contraindicated due to the position of those teeth.

Traditional palatal and vestibular surgical approaches for removing deeply impacted mesiodens with a crown facing the nasal floor are accompanied by significant complications. Herein, we describe a novel modified intranasal approach to minimize the complications. Also, it can be performed under local anesthesia with proper preoperative workup.

Introduction The intrauterine device is a planning method widely used in the world, however, it is not without complications, one of these is uterine perforation and migration of the IUD to the abdominal cavity, which although it is rare, has serious clinical repercussions and its study has been studied. relationship with the adequate or not insertion of the device, the size and configuration of the uterus, uterine anomalies or surgeries and the moment of insertion after delivery. Case report We present the case of a 36-year-old female patient with a 12-hour history of pain in the mesogastrium that radiates to the right iliac fossa of 9/10 weight intensity, associated with fever measured at 38.9º. He underwent diagnostic laparoscopy with a finding of acute appendicitis secondary to lumen obstruction by the IUD, so an appendectomy was performed. Conclusions The appropriate treatment when this complication occurs is surgical extraction either laparoscopically or laparotomy to reduce the risk of associated complications.

Intra-aortic balloon pump is used frequently to support a failing myocardium in cardiac patients. Due to the invasive nature of this device, usage is accompanied by consistent risk of complications. Balloon rupture, although it occurs rarely, may lead to entrapment if diagnosis delays. A 78-year male who underwent cardiac surgery experienced balloon rupture and entrapment in the right femoral artery during the postoperative follow-up. Surgical extraction under local anesthesia was performed and the patient had an uneventful course. Fast and gentle solution of the problem is necessary to prevent further morbidity or mortality related to a retained balloon catheter in these delicate patients.

Introduction. There are various reasons for the lens dislocation. Spontaneous dislocation of a clear lens is extremely rare, especially its dislocation to the anterior chamber. Case Outline. The author presents a case of spontaneous clear lens dislocation to the anterior chamber in both eyes in a patient without the history of any trauma. Dislocation occurred spontaneously, first in the left eye, along with a sudden decrease of vision. The ophthalmologist found a clear lens in the anterior chamber, without any sign of an elevated intraocular pressure, as should have been expected. The dislocated lens was removed surgically (intracapsular extraction) with the preventive basal iridectomy. Two years later, the same happened in the right eye: clear lens moved spontaneously to the anterior chamber, with a decrease of vision, but again without any rise of intraocular pressure and/or any pain. Intracapsular extraction of the lens with basal iridectomy was done again. Conclusion. The presented case demonstrates that spontaneous dislocation of the transparent lens to the eye anterior chamber can occur in both eyes at different time intervals. We suggest the removal of dislocated lens in the anterior chamber by the intracapsular extraction.

Popliteal artery thrombosis may present as a complication of an osteochondroma located in the vicinity of the knee joint. This is a case report of a 26-year-old man with symptoms of the right lower extremity ischaemia without a previous history of vascular disease or trauma. Plain radiography, magnetic resonance angiography and Doppler ultrasonography documented the presence of an osteochondrous structure of the proximal tibial metaphysis, which displaced and compressed the popliteal artery, causing its occlusion due to intraluminal thrombosis..The patient was operated and histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteochondroma.
