Facial masks are the main interface between patients and breathing supportive devices. Condensation in these masks causes serious breath disturbance which could be life threatening. Based on temperature-driven mass and heat transfer formulations, a computer simulation fluid dynamic model is developed to compute the condensation rate and locations of a typical breathing facial mask. Condensation measurements are taken to validate the model. The effects of mask geometry and shape on condensation are elaborated on.

We investigated the design of a neural-network-based adaptive control system for a smart structural dynamic model of the twin tails of an F-15 tail section. A neural network controller was developed and tested in computer simulation for active vibration suppression of the model subjected to parametric excitation. First, an emulator neural network was trained to represent the structure to be controlled and thus used in predicting the future responses of the model. Second, a neurocontroller to determine the necessary control action on the structure was developed. The control was implemented through the application of a smart material actuator. A strain gauge sensor was assumed to be on each tail. Results from computer-simulation studies have shown great promise for control of the vibration of the twin tails under parametric excitation using artificial neural networks.

For easily calculated and more accurate dynamic model of single flexible manipulator, a new model was built through connection of spring and two rigid bodies. It is approximate to the real model of single manipulator in trajectory of end point. With simplifying manipulator and introducing simplified and Predetermined elastic energy of manipulator, Lagrange equation was used to built dynamic model based on the new model. And based on dynamic model, computer simulation result of dynamic parameters with Matlab software proved that the new model is available simple and easily-adjusted.

This paper presents the dynamic model of heavy-duty concrete spreader with liquid-solid rigid-flexible coupling by means of mathematical modeling and CAE cosimulation. The mathematical method of liquid-solid dynamic model of heavy-duty concrete spreader is described. Based on the liquid-solid coupling system, two degrees of freedom are added to change the model into a liquid-solid rigid-flexible coupling model, and the calculation process of the model is given in detail. The results show that, considering two flexible body factors, the solution scale is relatively large and the complexity of mathematical model derivation is increased. It is very difficult to establish a general dynamic equation which can be easily solved by computer. Therefore, this paper presents a new method of CAE cosimulation of liquid-solid rigid-flexible coupling. This method is divided into two parts: the computer simulation process of liquid-solid coupling and the computer simulation process of rigid-flexible coupling. First, the fluid-solid coupling is carried out by COMSOL software, and then the rigid-flexible coupling is carried out by HyperMesh software, Ansys software, and Adams software. This method can easily establish the dynamic model of the liquid-solid rigid-flexible coupling system, which provides a new idea for the simulation of heavy-duty concrete spreader. The simulation results can provide valuable insights into product design and structural optimization.

Aiming at the problem of long time power interruption and clutch master-slave friction plates wore seriously which greatly shorten the life of clutch during shifting process of AMT, a overrunning AMT without separation process of clutch when shifting is designed. This paper has analyzed structural characteristics and shift principle of overrunning AMT. Through force analysis on the jointing process of roller overrunning clutch, the mathematical model and dynamic model of transmission system are established. Finally, the shifting impact of shifting process is analyzed based on computer simulation. The simulation results indicate that vehicle longitudinal degree of jerk meets the requirement of vehicle comfort.
