AbstractPedagogical competence is one of important competencies to the teachers. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the pedagogical competence of teachers is, viewed from the aspects of learning knowledge skills, preparation of lesson plans, and learning in the classroom. This study used the quantitative method with 631 respondents of civil servant teachers of Islamic Education at school and teachers of general subjects at madrasah (Islamic school) recruited from non-permanent teachers in 20 districts/cities in Central Java province, selected at random. The findings show that teachers’ pedagogical competence knowledge on the aspect of learning knowledge skills is in the “poor” category, the aspect of students’ potential development knowledge and reflective efforts to improve the learning quality becomes a very weak point at an average value with the “very poor” category. In addition, the aspect of ability to prepare lesson plans is in the “sufficient” category, the teaching material organization and the evaluation aspect are very weak competence aspects, which get “poor”. Meanwhile, the competence of learning implementation aspect is in the “sufficient” category.

This article restores the peculiar ethical-cultural cartography from the philosophical fragments of Ancient Greek Cynicism. Namely, the fragments of Anthistenes, Diogenes of Sinope, Crates, Dio Chrysostom as well as of the ancient historians of philosophy (Diogenes Laertius and Joanes Stobaeus) are mainly analyzed and interpreted. The methods of comparative analysis as well of rational restoration are applied in this article. The authors of the article concentrate on the main characteristics of the above mentioned cartography, that is, the contradiction between maps of nature and civilization. The article comes to the conclusion that the basis of this contradiction is the concept of the main value as well as virtue in the above mentioned cynicism, namely, natural radical temperance. According to ancient cynics, this virtue is absolutely incompatible with pleasure-driven civilization, as the latter annihilates the former. Therefore, cynics interpreted the whole territory of the world known at that time as divided between maps of nature and civilization that never overlap or even intersect. Moreover, according to ancient cynics, the territory covered by maps of civilization is considerably smaller than that enframed by the maps of nature. Moreover, the areas of nature are continuously being diminished, as civilization resolutely goes ahead. In such a situation that threatens survival of human nature the only possible way out is a return to the natural value of radical temperance. After cynics, the only effective strategy of achieving that challenging goal is askesis as excercises of temperance dedicated both to body and spirit. The authors of the article also give a certain SWOT analysis of the above mentioned cartography in the context of contemporary society. According to them, such a cartography possesses both strong and weak points. The main weak point is the contradiction itself between maps of culture and civilization. As a matter of fact, civilization does not annihilate the possibility of natural temperance, whereas a human being, according to his/her nature, is a creator of culture and civilization. On the other hand, the main positive aspect is an emphasis on virtue of temperance, which is actual, significant and relevant in any epoch, culture and civilization, and which is pretty much forgotten nowadays.

[Windhoek, 1977]…fellow-workers…the weak point we have [to remedy] in order to change the system is unity and co-operation. And we must not distinguish whether some workers are sleeping in a compound and some are staying in the single quarters and some in the so-called locations. All of us who are exploited, we blacks, we must know that we are all workers. We workers want to be in unity. We workers in Namibia, we want to unite. It doesn't matter what kind of work he is doing, each and every worker should come into that union. After such unity and co-operation have been established, it is only then that it will be possible to campaign for better working conditions, for higher wages and to embark on any other action which will change the working conditions.

In order to evaluate the biological significance of luminescence, it is desirable to know how weak light affects the behaviour of marine animals, and what intensities they can see. Much information is available concerning the attractive power of bright lights, and light directed movements (see Verheijen, 1958, for example), but little for weak point sources. Weak coloured lights have been used by Baylor & Smith (1953) to trap freshwater arthropods.

Abstract A new paper feeder design of an apparatus that need a sheet of paper is proposed in this study. The weak point of a patented paper feeder was point out in this study. To improve that weak point, a new design including two arms, four gears and a slider was developed. The paper feeding mechanism of this study depends on the buckling of the paper sheet. Therefore, the buckling of a paper sheet is a very important parameter of designing the paper feeder. To make the design correct, a theoretical buckling model of the paper was developed. The analysis results were compared with the experiment results. Finally, the new design of best performance was presented.

The programs of air-operation and service in the aviation engineering - within this at light-aircraft too - takeplace according to rigorous regulations [6, 7]. There are such machine units and parts which regulation areincomplete, for instance such is the landing-shaft seating. We have developed a new maintenance modelbased on the traditional ones, which offers new information exchange modul for e.g. weak point reconstruction and uses paper based documentation and modern remote maintenance as well. Beside thenew model we have worked out a renewing solution of the often failed landing-gear leg support applyingfield and laboratory test and FEM modelling to fill up as an engineering example for the information modulof the new maintenance model.

This is an excellent basic textboook of child psychiatry; written primarily for the child psychiatrist, it has much to offer the practicing pediatrician, primarily because it brings its rich array of information into a practical clinical framework. The book's strong point is its success at pulling together, into a unified framework, data from multiple different points of view. Its main weak point is its less-than-ideal updating from the First Edition (1966). The book consists of five sections.

Insulated block joints are essential components used in railway tracks. They are divided into circuits and are used for train detection and signalling. However, they also represent a weak point in the track system and have a finite life. Condition monitoring of these components for planning preventative maintenance is currently labour intensive, and can be significantly expensive for the rail operator. In this study, insulated block joints were fatigued via shear load, whilst being condition monitored for degradation using a normally incident ultrasonic technique. Tests were also initially performed on lap-joints and shear specimens to further understand the response of the ultrasonic signal to failure of the adhesive layer under controlled conditions. Dynamic reflection coefficients as well as the applied load were recorded in all tests, and results were compared to failure zones on the specimens. The results showed that the ultrasonic technique was able to determine the onset of failure and de-bonding of the adhesive layer in addition to degradation and wear. The technique was also able to highlight differences in performance between two different liners, pultruded glass reinforced polyester resin and a flexible glass fibre sheet, with the latter showing improved resistance. The outcomes of this study have highlighted the viability of condition monitoring insulated block joints using an ultrasonic approach and have provided a basis for a future field trial.
