Ayurveda considers this under Vatayadhi. Avabahuka Chikitsa in Ayurveda has good relief for the patients suffering from the disease. A Male patient of age 70 yrs. approached D.G.M Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital with pain restricted movement and stiffness in the Rt. Shoulder for 6 days and diagnosed as Avbahuka. The patient was subjected to the Patrapottali Sweda along with the Shamana Yogas. After the treatment, the stiffness of the joint was reduced. The patient got moderate relief from the pain. Study performed surveillance endoscopy in a 23-year-old male patient with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) who underwent right hemicolectomy with ileo-colic anastamosis for ileo-colic intussusception three years back. On evaluation, he found to have multiple upper gastrointestinal and ileal polyps. Subsequently he underwent polypectomies in three sessions by combined standard snare polypectomy and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) method without any complication. We present a case report that emphasizes the importance of surveillance and the role of prophylactic polypectomy in patients with PJS.

Mucormycosis is an invasive, potentially lethal fulminant fungal infection that is caused by normallysaprophytic fungus belonging to the class zygomycetes. Mucormycosis is characterized by its unrelentingprogression towards vital organs with marked propensity towards arterial wall by direct extension producingvascular thrombosis leading to ischaemic necrosis. The maxilla rarely undergoes necrosis due to its richvascularity. The case report here was a case of mucormycosis with extensive necrosis of maxilla in a 48 yearold male patient with palatal perforation as the sole presentation of mucormycosis.Key words: Mucormycosis; palatal perforation; fungal infection.DOI: 10.3329/jafmc.v6i1.5989Journal of Armed Forces Medical College, Bangladesh Vol.6(1) 2010 p.29-31

Ameloblastoma is a benign odontogenic tumor. It is locally invasive and unlimited growth capacity, with a propensity for recurrence if not entirely excised. The therapeutic challenge in this type of tumors is to have an adequate resection with a wide margin of normal tissue but also a functional and aesthetically acceptable reconstruction of the residual defect. The role of radiotherapy is currently demonstrated in inoperable cases. We are reporting a case of a 45 years-old male patient with large ameloblastoma of the mandible recurrent 10 years after surgical resection. The patient benefited from exclusive radiotherapy at a dose of 60 Gy.

Background: The term "ovarian cancer" includes several different types of cancer that  arise from cells of the ovary, most commonly, tumors arise from the epithelium or lining cells of the ovary.  Ovarian cancer risk is positively associated with higher consumption of dietary cholesterol and eggs, and inversely associated with a higher intake of vegetables. High consumption of fats may increase circulating estrogen levels, thus increasing the possibility of cell damage and proliferation that is responsible for cancerous growth. Material & Methods: The present study was conducted at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur (Rajasthan). Total  100 cases (females) attending the obstetrics and gynecology department for some gynecological and other problem  were selected for this study between the age of 40-60 years, who were attending cancer centre at GEETANJALI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND  HOSPITAL, Udaipur (Rajasthan).                GROUP I: - It consisted of healthy females control subjects (n=50) .By routine examination and tests, we ensured that all the subjects were healthy and there were no signs and symptoms or history of ovarian tumor and diseases GROUP II: - It consisted of ovarian cancer females subjects (n=50) with a history of ovarian tumor. Results:   Higher level of cholesterol, LDL, VLDL and low level of HDL are found in ovarian cancer patients. Conclusion: The present study we highlights the importance and role of serum lipid profile in diagnosis, prognosis and recurrence of the disease. The study shows that serum level of cholesterol, LDL, VLDL was elevated in  patients of ovarian cancer while low level of HDL are found in ovarian cancer patients. Key words: lipid profile, ovarian cancer.
