For physicians, every new case of anemia is a clinical problem with multiple unknowns. The case of female patient K. aged 40 with clinical and laboratory manifestations of anemia is reported. Pathogenetic variants of anemia have been studied; each variant characterized by specific laboratory test results determines future direction of diagnosis aimed at search for the cause of anemia (nosological diagnosis). Differential diagnosis has been developed.

Fuchs syndrome is a particular type of erythema multiforme major; the lesions are only found on the mucosae and specifically affect oral, ocular, and genital mucosae. The cause is not always immediately apparent, which is why this pathology requires a rigorous, detailed clinical examination to eliminate a differential diagnosis. The severity of the symptoms, particularly of oral and ocular symptoms, requires immediate treatment. The treatment of this pathology requires a multiple-drug regime. Through a clinical case study, the objective of this work is to help guide practitioners when diagnosing and treating this pathology as no current consensus exists on these 2 subjects. The authors present the case of a 29-year-old patient who was suffering from a recurring outbreak of Fuchs syndrome, suspected of having been triggered by Mycoplasma pneumoniae. After completing the treatment program based on colchicine and prednisolone, the patient was relieved from pain and has not suffered from any further periodic eruptions of erythema multiforme.

Abstract Background: Family clustering has facilitated the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, and the outflows of people from Wuhan to their hometown has become the most important transmission channel in China. The study aimed to investigate the SARS-CoV-2 infection of an entire family, especially children. Methods: This family case study was conducted in General Mountain Hospital, Guizhou Province. In January 2020, we recruited a family of 13 members, including three children and nine adults, at different stages, from admission screening to discharge. We used standardized case report forms to collect clinical data between January 16, 2020 and March 1, 2020. These data included temperature, contact history, incubation period, laboratory test results, imaging results, length of hospital stay, and treatment outcomes. Results: Eight cases had confirmed diagnoses of SARS-CoV-2 infection, including three mild cases (37.5%) and five common cases (62.5%). The child patient had the shortest length of hospital stay and less obvious symptoms. There was no significant difference between the laboratory test results and CT scans. Conclusions: Children are not susceptible to virus infection in their families. Compared with adult patients, pediatric patients have milder symptoms, shorter hospital stays, and lower risk of lung infections. As this cannot confirm whether their nucleic acid amplification tests are negative or positive after discharge, the management and control of discharged patients should therefore be paid additional attention.

Background: This case report shows the effect of Hyulbuchuko-tang on a patient with a contraindication to anticoagulants who complained about dyspnea caused by pulmonary embolism (PE).Case report: A PE patient with dyspnea was treated with herbal medication, Hyulbuchuko-tang, for 28 days. Evaluations took place by assessing time for oxygen application time per day, follow-up chest CT, and D-dimer test results. Oxygen application time per day decreased, and oxygen therapy ended on the 14th day of Hyulbuchuko-tang treatment. Follow-up chest CT showed resolution of PE. The D-dimer level decreased on the 24th day and decreased more after 1 month later. Conclusion: This clinical case study suggests that Hyulbuchuko-tang might be effective in the resolution of PE and can be an option as a treatment for PE patients with contraindications to anticoagulants.

This paper presents a case study on the laboratory examination of quarry dust based geopolymer on some physical and mechanical properties of stabilized laterit soil. The laboratory test results indicate that both CBR and shrinkage limit of studied soil increased substantailly with increased rate of quarry dust based geopolymer (QD-based geopolymer). Specifically, the laterit soils were treated with QD-based geopolymer in the proportions of 10%, 20%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, respectively, by weight of dry soil; the CBR values were increased from 7.4% to 35.71% at proportion of 40% QD-based geopolymer. The obtained CBR value of 35.71% meets the requirement to be used as filled meterials for pavement purpose according to the TCVN 8857:2012. In constrast with the increase in CBR and shrinkage values, the swelling potential of treated soils was found to be decreased with raising QD-geopolymer proportion, for example, the swelling potential decreased from 14.5÷6.9% as adding 10, and 60% of QD- based geopolymer, respectively .
