With the development of the times, undergraduate colleges and universities begin to transform and develop to adapt to the changing society, and put forward new requirements for practical teaching strategies, especially for applied undergraduate colleges. The reform of practical teaching is particularly important. Under the development of education transformation, the reform of mechanical design and manufacture and the practice teaching of automation specialty also occupy a very important position. Through the understanding of the reform of the practical teaching of this specialty, the effect of the reform is observed, and a reasonable teaching scheme is put forward to promote the steps of the transformation of the practical teaching.

Since 2007, we have offered single collimators for mini beams of sizes 5, 10 and 20 µm as well as a 300 µm scatter-guard to accommodate the fully focused beam. The advantages of varying the beam size were obvious, better signal/background ratio and the capability to raster with a coarse, larger beam, then fine tune with one of the mini-beam options. The mini beams proved to be a technical and popular success; however, the switching of the single collimators often involved staff intervention. The single mini-beam collimators were the precursors to the development of a triple collimator. This implementation incorporated two mini-beam collimators and a 300 µm scatter-guard on one post. The design was improved by consolidation of fabrication from a single piece of molybdenum block. It significantly improved the robustness, ease of initial alignment, reduction of background and increased automation. However, experimenters were still left with a choice of either a (5, 10 and 300 µm)- or a (10, 20 and 300 µm)-triple collimator. Recently, a quad collimator was developed and fabricated to provide a selection of mini beams of 5, 10 and 20 µm and a 300 µm scatter-guard, on a single post. We will present the mechanical design of multi-collimators, results of measured beam flux through the collimator pinholes.

Collaborative design is a new method for mechanical design and manufacture, how to improve the ability of design is the point problem. Data translation is a key problem for collaborative e design. In the paper, the problem of data translation is solved. Different design software for designer can complete the same task, which is based on the data transition and translation. The XML style of data is established, which is applied to express the relationship of data. The XML to STEP style is presented for system. Data can be transmitted among different software. The integration of system is established. At last, a prototype system is presented to demonstrate the methodology.

Abstract Geometry is a language for representing and communicating mechanical design information. To enhance the integration of design and manufacturing tasks, a representation of product geometry at appropriate levels of abstraction for geometric reasoning is necessary. In addition, a mechanism to perform reasoning with the representation is needed. This paper describes a computational formalism for representing and manipulating geometry at different abstraction levels. Geometry is abstracted in terms of form features. Spatial relationships between features, which are important components for geometric reasoning, are represented using a modification of a previously developed technique — the intermediate geometry language (IGL). To enable geometric reasoning, information abstracted using features and the IGL is transformed into a data model based on object-oriented modeling technology. An object algebra is defined to query the data model for information.
