Purpose: The study sought to examine the challenges faced in implementing effective supply chain management practices during the distribution of the consumable products in the oil industry in Kenya with reference to Vanoil Energy Limited. The study was to establish how warehousing capabilities, strategic supplier relationships, transportation planning and demand and supply forecasting affect distribution performance of the oil industry. To achieve this, the researcher reviewed both theoretical and empirical literature and proposed the research methodology that addressed the gaps identified in literature as well as answer the stipulated research questions.Methodology: This research study adopted a descriptive research design approach. The researcher prefers this method because it allows an in-depth study of the subject. A census was conducted where all the 70 staff in procurement department were issued with questionnaires. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires. The data collected was analysed by use of descriptive and inferential statistics. The quantitative data generated was keyed in and analysed by use of Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22 to generate information which will be presented using tables, charts, frequencies and percentages. Multiple regression models were used to show the relationship between the dependent variable and the four independent variables in this study. Results: The findings of the study indicated that warehousing capabilities, strategic supplier relationships, transport planning and demand and supply forecasting have a positive relationship with effective distribution of consumable products in the oil industry.Recommendations: Finally, the study recommended that companies in the oil industry should embrace supply chain management practices so as to improve distribution performance and further researches should to be carried out in other institutions to find out if the same results can be obtained.

It is still not clear how supply chain management can be applied to enhance and improve the performance of the supply chain. Consequently, the purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of five different factors in supply chain on its performance. This research studies the relationship between the selected variables (i.e. quality, time, information, flexibility, and integration) and supply chain management performance. This research takes a step forward to better understand the relationship between supply chain management factors and supply chain performance by incorporating these variables into the industrial landscape of electronics manufacturing in Malaysia. Specifically by using a combination model of a unified framework combining SCOR Model (Supply Chain Council, 1997) and system approach model (Min &Mentzer, 2004). As such, the analysis in this study contributes to the empirical literature of supply chain management, policy progress, as well as managerial implications. The outcome of this study also signifies the contribution it has given towards a new shift in upgrading the manufacturing best practices in developing countries through effective supply chain management practices.

Supply chain management strategies will help the prawn and crab growers mitigate and adapt to the impact of various disruptions such as typhoons, water-borne diseases, and climate change. The study was conducted to determine the production and disruptions and prawn and crab basis for supply chain management strategies of the growers. The study employed a descriptive research design using quantitative data. The study used secondary data for performance and disaster history. A content analysis was used in processing the data. The researchers validated the findings and results of the study, and a random interview was conducted. Findings revealed that disruptions affect the production of prawn and crab, growers have their fishing technique and management practices, supply chain management strategies were not prioritized for value-adding and technology accessibility. A supply chain management strategy may be employed to operate and produce prawns and crabs in the Province of Capiz to achieve profitability and sustainability. It should be noted that the data is from 2011 to 2017. The data coverage is the Province of Capiz and focuses on the volume and value of prawns and crab (tiger prawn, endeavor prawn, and mud crab).
