In this paper we are focusing on automatic billing and metering, The GSM Short Message Service (SMS) and Arduino connection gives the metre reading system several predefined automatic capabilities.The energy consumption and electricity bill and loads will be providing through GSM module to the customer and to the concern electricity department. An alert message will be send to the customer and vigilance squad when the consumption unit reading reaches beyond the specific threshold. And loads on and off through gsm This paper contains energy consumption details in terms of power units and power units will be displayed on the LCD and will be notified to the customer via SMS and customer will also be able to recharge with the help of GSM module as well as microcontroller.

Smart city has developed energy, environmental, and healthcare services.  It is also continuously providing new services to all citizens.  This paper is concerned with the design and implementation of smart meter system as the core for smart grid in smart city.  A system is proposed where the electricity supply is monitored by measuring its related parameters (voltage, current, power, energy consumption, and consumption bill) and issuing Short Message Service (SMS) notification of the consumption.   The designed system used PZEM-004T, Arduino Mega, Raspberry Pi and Node-Red platforms.  The data related to the measured parameters are successfully transmitted to the datacenter using Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol, stored in MySQL database using core python program, and displayed on Node-Red platform.  The test and verification of the system are performed using different scenarios showing that successful and accurate operation of the system components are achieved.   Finally, the designed system can be extended to cover large geographical areas and can be modified to serve for pre-paid arrangement in an effort to assist in reducing the electricity consumption in Iraq with the continuing crises of electricity.

This paper describes issues and challenges in the design and implementation of interactive client-server applications where program logic is expressed in terms of an extensible markup language (XML) document. Although the technique was originally developed for creating interactive short message service (SMS) applications, it has expanded and is used for developing interactive web applications. XML-Interactive (or XML-I) defines the program states and corresponding actions. Because many interactive applications require sustained communication between the client and the underlying information service, XML-I has support for session management. This allows state information to be managed in a dynamic way. The paper describes several applications that are implemented using XML-I and discusses design issues. The software framework has been implemented in a Java environment.
